Cute comfy cafe - Edit
Cannot comment on the main meals here as didn't eat them, but did get drinks and cake here. The one vegan cake they had was nice (chocolate avo cake) but the portion was so small for the price (25k kip)
Read moreWe got a pot of green tea (20k) which was really nice and they refilled the pot multiple times for us to make more tea.
The upstairs is really trendy and has super comfy armchairs so is a good spot to hid from the heat or rain.
Pros: Comfy coffee shops
Cons: Expensive

Excellent smoothie bowl - Edit
Great coffee with almond milk, and almond-based smoothie bowls. Had the mixed berry one, it was beautifully presented with lots of fresh fruit and seeds. Little bit pricey for the area but worth it for the fresh fruits. Friendly staff and free WiFi. Wish I had enough room left to try some of the vegan sweet treats as they looked lovely.

Smoothie Bowl - just what the body needed! - Edit
We were searching for just the right thing to eat after a day's travel (crossing from Udon Thani) and after Chinese New Years (an even worse disaster for the body).
Read moreWe read a review from Dee Fancett about Coco & Co along with a photo of the smoothie bowl. It sounded like just the perfect thing and, when we googled it, found the restaurant to be a short ten minute walk!
The welcoming waiter, in excellent English, sat us down, poured us glass after glass of water and then arrived with the most delicious looking bowl of fruit smoothie I have ever seen. It was so large that two of us shared it, enjoying every bite down to wiping our fingers around the bowl to get the last of the smoothie.
There was the choice of, I believe, mango and banana as well, but we went with the mixed berry smoothie (made with soy milk) which arrived with fresh dragonfruit, mango, banana, grapes, nuts and seeds on top.
Cost was 45,000 LAK which sounds like a lot to foreigners, but is just under $7 Canadian and worth every kip.
We found it so delicious that we almost went back for a smoothie bowl for breakfast. However, we had a bus to catch quite early and didn't want to rush the enjoyment. Next visit instead....
Pros: cute spot for people watching, excellent service, good English

Not fully vegan - Edit
Advertises it's a vegan cafe on the outside but is mostly vegetarian. Do have soy milk for coffee (So Good brand!) which was a nice coffee but expensive (25,000 kip). Nice cafe otherwise, good atmosphere and air conditioning!

Nothing special - Edit
They advertise themselves to be a vegan cafe, but that is not true. We had the lentil and pumpkinsoup. The lentil one was nice, but very dull... not great use of spices. The pumpkinsoup was like i would make it at home. Quite simpel, no wow factor.

Not a vegan café - Edit
This place has vegan Cafe written on the sign and has some vegan items identified on the menu. But almost nothing is actually vegan! After ordering and checking with the staff the food was vegan, eating them and feeling terrible. We asked the ingredients and found out almost everything we ate wasn't vegan, including the things that are specifically labeled vegan! The owners didn't seem to care when we told them that it was so dangerous and people could get very ill. Will never be back here

Almost every meal I ate was not vegan - Edit
Really poorly advertised as a Vegan cafe but almost nothing on the menu is vegan. Almost everything contains dairy. My partner specifically asked of the menu was vegan and the French employee said yes. Bread and blueberry cheesecake is not vegan felt really heavy after eating. I felt asleep on the couch and I usually eat a lot and feel fine. After we spoke to what looked like the owner of the place , he was saying “what do you want us to do” 🤷🏼♂️. I explained to the staff that some people are seriously allergic to some animal products and should take this seriously. Poor experience and very unhappy.

Few Vegan Options - Edit
Don't be fooled by the enticing sign that says vegan cafe, it's just a vegetarian cafe.
Read moreThe bread is not vegan which cancels out about half of the menu and she isn't very helpful about finding an alternative to the bread so you might as well forget about those dishes, wish doesn't leave you with much.
However, the one dish I did try - which was the smoothie bowl, was pretty great. A creamy avocado and banana base and overflowing with toppings of various fruits, nuts and seeds.
If you do decide to eat here, get the smoothie bowl.
The vegan dessert I tried was also good but too small, lucky I was already full from the smoothie bowl anyway.
Pros: Great Smoothie Bowls, Yummy Vegan Desserts
Cons: Not Enough Vegan Options

Raw vegan chocolate cake - Edit
We arrived at Coco&co a little after 5pm (when it closes) but the lady that welcomed us was kind enough to still serve us cake to go. We had THE most delicious raw, vegan avocado and chocolate cheese cake. Honestly worth the drive from Vang Vieng to get.

Confused and Annoyed - Edit
The Cafe is vegan/vegetarian but does not differentiate between the two on the menu. I asked many questions trying to understand what on the menu was vegan and what was in it because the menu is not detailed. The staff seemed very annoyed by all of my questions. When I finally ordered a vegetable sandwich with no cheese they cam back and told me to order Avocado toast instead if I was vegan. I asked if I could have the avocado instead of cheese in the vegetable sandwich and they said no but vegetables on the side. I wasn't really feeling that. So i shared the vegan 'burger' with my friend. Turns out the burger isn't much of a burger. It has no bread.. So we asked for bread to make it more burgery then they told us they don't have vegan bread. What? I was so confused, just a moment before they were saying if I'm vegan to get Avocado toast.
Read moreOverall, I was annoyed and confused. But the burger tasted alright. It was very soft and comparable to a meatloaf. It was fine. Not worth the money though. Would not return or suggest to go here for food
Pros: Cute place
Cons: Annoyed staff, Menu has no vegan/vegetarian markings, Burger isn't a burger (check photo)

Vegan raw cakes but rather expensive - Edit
Coco&Co is a vegetarian coffee shop offering four vegan raw cakes and some salty vegan options. The place is central and pleasant, and the menu presents clearly the vegan options with a red dot. They are rather limited: raw cakes and coconut ice cream for treats and a vegan burger served without buns plus a few other options. I tried the ice cream, the blueberry raw cheesecake and the avocado-chocolate cake. The ice cream was tasty but limited to one scoop, the cakes were good (but not entirely defrozen with microwave) and very small for the price. This is a good place if you miss cakes but otherwise it is a bit expensive for what you get.

We had lunch and dessert here! The highlight was definitely the chocolate tart, it tastes like a chocolate mousse. We also ordered the massage curry and quiche both very good! Overall very nice cafe.

vegan set menu is a great deal - Edit
We both got the set menu which included soup, salad or avocado toast and a main with some mango for 48,000 Kip. The food was all tasty and it was nice to have some variety. The decor upstairs is really cool with comfy chairs, interesting artwork/decor and lots of space.

Not everything is vegan, but there are several vegan options (just ask because not everything is marked). Very kind staff and the food is very tasty. Best vegan cafe in Vientiane - Edit
Tried the vegan burger (which is "just" a burger patty and salad, no bread) and the Red Lemon ice tea and it was mind blowing! Had an americano and vegan blueberry cheesecake for dessert. While the americano was good, I was a bit disappointed with the Cheesecake. It was quite small, still half frozen and didn't have a lot of taste. Staff were super nice and I loved the interior of the café :)

Not very vegan friendly. - Edit
Came here because I wanted some Western food but their bread isn't vegan which eliminated almost all of the Western options on the menu. Quiche is definitely vegan and some sweets as well.
Read moreStaff is very friendly and tried to accommodate me anyway putting some stuff together.
Their healthy set menu (48000kip) changes weekly and I'm sure you can get a vegan version of it.
Disappointed because of the lack of vegan options for vegetarian cafe. I ended up paying 63000 kip for a salad and pumpkinsoup with some fruits instead of bread (didn't feel like the set menu). Taste was very good but way too expensive in my opinion especially because you can find those "basic vegan options" in every random restaurant.
For Western food maybe try out 'Common Grounds' instead.
Pros: Tasty, Friendly staff
Cons: Expensive, Not so vegan friendly
