Love to take friends here!

It’s a great place to bring people to try out delicious veg food. And they always like the prices, too.

Pros: Buffet style, Great tofu dishes, Cheap drinks

Great and cheap food

We came here a few times for breakfast/lunch and were very satisfied. They have wide selection of mock meats, curries and vegetables. Staff seemed friendly and tried explaining everything to us. Also they offer veggie Bao buns, which was a very nice discovery for us.

Pros: Lots of options, Very cheap

Cons: Food was a bit cold if you come after peak hours

Great for breakfast

We ate here twice for breakfast. Try their Bao - so so good. I tried the Kaya and the lotus - pillowy zumminess at 1.70 rm. the buffet is great with a price of around 8.20 rm. weekdays it gets really busy around 8-9.

Pros: Lots of choice , Amazing bao , Staff can help in English

Amazing vegetarian food

Loved this place when I visited it with my girlfriend. The options here are plentiful and all delicious. The price is reasonable as well. If you're in Penang, definitely stop by here, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Food, Price

Very affordable tasty food

Lots of options at self-service buffet served with rice. Both brown/wholegrain rice and white rice are offered. Also great option for takeaway. Extensive and cheap drink menu too.

There's a noodle stall in front of the restaurant; different owner but you can eat your meal in the seating area too. They have 6 options for soup/noodle stir fries. (open from 7am to 1.30pm) - tried the mee curry soup, which was very tasty.

Best place if you're really hungry

The buffet has a big variety of faux meat, tofu and vegetables. We came here really hangry and after we finished eating we were really happy. It was tasty and so cheap. Paid RM 24 total for two big plates of food and two drinks

Many interesting choices, crazy cheap!

I hadnt tried anything in the buffet so I took a kittle piece of each dish. Only 10 ringit for a huge pile of delicious food! The spices and textures were so unique. I wish some of the food was a bit hotter, but it was delicious and the staff was kind and helpful!

Pros: Tons of dishes, Friendly staff., Amazing value!

Cons: Could be a little hotter ;)

Great local buffet, all veg!

Excellent selection of mock meats and Chinese Malay dishes, you will leave feeling full :)
My plate was full and cost 9.5 ringgit, with about 6 different dishes on the plate. The silken tofu dish was my fav.
Small warning - if you are not a fan of fish flavours (even vegan ones), the sweet chilli “fish” tofu is very fishy, I actually couldn’t eat it as it was too real for me and I found it a bit repulsive. But that’s just my personal preference. If you used to love seafood, you’ll love it!

Pros: All veg, full of mock meats, Local prices, Great variety

Cons: Not a healthy meal , The mock fish flavours taste real

Great place that is basically vegan

This is a place we have been to each time staying in Penang. I would say the food is good but this definitely isn’t the go to place. It is good when there really aren’t much other options. We will continue to return again.

Pros: Very cheap, Lots of options

Cons: NO PARKING DURING PEAK HOURS, Cash only

Lots of food and drinks options

This place was packed with people in the morning when I came. Ended up paying a bit more for the buffee than expected, not sure how they calculate the foods, but having that said the food was great and there were lots of options. They also had many fresh juices and drinks to choose from!

Pros: Vegan friendly , Great and cheap juices , Affordable prices

Good buffet

Went there three times. Many choices! Not totally healthy (too oily) but not too bad. Hard to say how much you will pay cause you don't pay by weight. Didn't pay the same price the 3 times we came. But never paid more than RM16 for one huge plate.

great everyday buffet

An excellent place. Not all plant based as some of the wheatmeat products and tofu wrappers contain egg. As a vegan I could easily work around those items and have a good selection. Like many of the buffets, the person at the counter guesses how much you owe them. I paid 8 ringgit for a full plate which is basically $2. We also came late in the day - too late for lunch and too early for dinner - and were welcomed and well satisfied.

Pros: good selection of items in the buffet, super cheap, welcoming any time of day

Cons: non-vegan items are not marked, a little challenging to find

Brilliant

I loved this place. I ate there this morning about 11am and everything was still hot and fresh. I tried a bit of everything near enough and it cost me about £4 I think.
Very filling meal and I will go back tomorrow for breakfast! They are not open on Sundays so avoid disappointment! Definitely go there if you’re in the area though. I’d make a special trip for this place.

Pros: Cheap, Delicious , Good variety

Tons of mock meat, nice and cheap!

It’s not a gourmet experience and the food will be lukewarm if you’re not there during peak lunch and dinner hours, but you’re looking at around RM8 for a big old plate of mock meats and rice (less than $2 USD as of writing). There’s vegan fish, chicken, beef, etc. to choose from, and all of them were quite good.

I visited twice around 3PM and the food was lukewarm due to it being off-hours, but the food was still quite good. I would imagine that it’s fantastic if you can catch it while it’s coming out fresh.

The vegan pao options out front are a steal at RM1.5 a piece, so leave a little room to grab one on your way out for the walk back!

Cheap and tasty

Small place with 5 or 6 tables and option to take away. Huge range of different vegetable and mock meat dishes as well as buns (pumpkin, red bean, peanut...). Very affordable. We went there for dinner and paid 16MYR for 2 large portions.

Pros: Lots of vegan dishes, You can fill the plate yourself , Very cheap

Cons: The atmosphere is not very nice to sit in there

Go-to lunch spot

This was my go-to lunch spot while staying in the centre of George Town. I've since found Evergreen, another buffet-style Chinese restaurant with better-tasting food a little further from the centre, but Ee Beng is definitely more than good enough if you want an affordable, healthy and palatable meal.

yummy! tons of rice!

yooo they have soooo much ricee!!😄it's amazing! I wasn't very impressed with their food mostly because it was all mock meat, salty, and oily, even the veggies were very oily. however if that is your thing come check it out tons of options! and you can never go wrong with plain steamed rice😄

Pros: Delicious rice, steamed buns, cheap

Cons: 2 oily 4 me

I enjoyed breakfast there one morning (instead of the boring Western breakfast at my hotel) and returned the next day for lunch. A wide variety of Malay dishes and all tasty as can be.

Malay style vegan buffet!

A huge range of dishes with mock meats, plenty of vegetables, rice, noodle and fried (spring roll style) dishes. Very reasonably priced, we paid 35 MYR for 3 adults. Delicious and refreshing fresh juices at the back too (ask for no sugar😉).

Pros: Fully vegan buffet, open early for breakfast,

Cons: None!

Delicious and dependable

This became our local shop during our stay in Penang!

Food was delicious and lots of options were available, for a very reasonable price. The mock meat dishes were all uniquely flavoured and tasted amazing so go crazy when trying it out as it will definitely be worth it!

We’d happily come back here again and recommend it to anyone!

Pros: Lots of options , Cheap, Delicious

Cons: No air conditioning
