My husband and I went to this cafe. We came from the Central Coast due to reading these rave reviews. We entered the premises and sat down. I noticed on the lounge chair area. This is where we sat. There were no menus on the table. Only a container of oranges and water and glasses. We waited, waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and waited. We did not know if we were meant to get served or had to go the counter. The young lady just looked at up, kept on doing her tasks, and did not approach us. After 10 mins, we decided to leave. I noticed that there were some steep steps to the cafe area, as I had am recovering from an ankle injury could not go down. I did not see any signage that we needed to go to the counter. Yet, the vegan pancake suggestion was clearly visible. We were happy to have a large lunch as well taking extra meals home. We were happy to spend a considerable amount of money in this premises. The staff member offered us no assistance at all. She did not ask us if she could help us or let us know politely their process. When my husband telephoned the manager later, she mentioned we needed to go the counter to pay before we received our items. While I am happy to support vegan cafes, I do not appreciate travelling long distances to receive this sub-standard type of service. What makes it worse there were only four people in the cake and juice area who had finished their meals. As my husband works in the central business district he would have liked to pick up some meals on a regular basis. Unfortunately this will not be happening. This is really disappointing; considering, I used to judge restaurants. It only takes one chance to impress me, this opportunity was lost. Instead our money walked into another cafe.
