Dreamy - Edit
Went in May 2024. Was sooo excited to go here for so long, and it lived up to my expectations. Went twice in May and both times were great. I love the screen ordering, because if you want more or something else, you just add it on! We were so hungry after our flight from Seoul, we got soo many things to eat but it was perfect, and we ate it all. I loved the lotus chips and miso burger. Honestly everything was delicious. I really want to go back again on my next trip.

Cute all vegan cafe!!! - Edit
Walked here on my first morning in tokyo, was such a lovely comfy vibe and kind staff. Loved that they had vegan versions of japanese specialties. I had coffee jelly and shiro-noir!! Which I had no idea what it was until I took a bite but safe to say their soft serve is EXCELLENT

Don't judge a book by its cover - Edit
There's a peculiar thing about Happy Cow. The very first photo that the very first reviewer posts, will forever be the photo that a restaurant is associated with on Happy Cow. For Komeda restaurant, that's a picture of a not so tasty looking piece of white bread with cream and snotty looking green stuff in the middle. Even though it popped up on my list of nearby vegan restaurants, I never visited because of that not so appealing looking photo. Luckily, a friend of mine convinced me to go anyway. And I'm glad he did.
Read moreKomeda sells simple vegan food like burgers, sandwiches, toast, milkshakes and salad. My friend opted for the burger, because he eats them regularly and says Komeda makes very good vegan burgers. I tried the "scrumptious grainy salad" which is indeed very tasty thanks to the sesame sauce. We shared a bowl of fried lotus root stems, which were good enough to eat all in one go.
One orders at Komeda using a tablet computer at the table. The tablet can be switched to English and Japanese, so even if you don't understand a word of either language you can order without any problem. Prices are decent and the service of the waitresses was polite and swift. So, don't judge a book by its cover and give Komeda a try. They offer much more than gooey looking food.
Pros: decent prices, simple food done well, good location
Cons: sallad is the only true healthy item on the menu

Toast is really good, coffee is really bitter. No more sweet sandwiches - Edit
The toast was super duper good. Minestrone soup was fine. The decaf coffee was super bitter, wouldn’t get again.

The Best in Tokyo - Edit
This is my favorite vegan restaurant in Tokyo. Free bread and spread if you order a drink in the morning. Interior is nice and comfortable with an easy to use iPad ordering system. Pancakes, croquettes, and sandwiches were all delicious.

[Visited June 2024]
Read moreI had an avocado burger, some salad, sandwiches and an iced tea to balance it all out. I really liked everything! They also give you a lot of mayo which I liked.
April 2025: still enjoyed the burgers here. Highly recommend after a night out.

Friendly staff but not a fan of the food - Edit
I was very excited to try this spot as I've been having trouble finding dairy free options here in Tokyo. I ordered a burger that came with fries, as did my friend. We both agreed that though the portions are a good size, the food just isn't worth the price you pay. I found my food to be very sour and chewy which I don't love for a burger. The fries were also on the cool side when brought out. I wish their menu had more simplistic options so you could customize more.

Update 2025: still delicious although wasn’t many dessert options this afternoon- maybe sold out? I had the coffee jelly drink though and it was amazing
Read more2023 review: I really enjoyed my Komeda is □ experience! I loved ordering from the touch screen, the coffee and food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed. My husband, who is 100% not vegan, raved about the teriyaki burger and fries. Definitely recommend!

Large space with a large menu - Edit
Larger restaurants are hard to come by in Japan, so Komeda is good for groups. The layout reminds me a bit of a Denny’s. The menu is equally large and there’s a nice variety to choose from. I wasn’t a big fan of the egg salad style sandwich but the tofu fritters were excellent.

Vegan food heaven - Edit
They have western and japanese food. I was happy to be able to eat a vegan katsu sando. Everything I tried was great and I wish we had come here more times so I could try the rest of the menu. Mid-price range. Place looks cozy and modern, it was nice to see a lot of locals there too.

Our fav breakfast place - Edit
We stayed in Ginza just so we could eat breakfast here every morning! This place is incredible. Love the atmosphere, and it feels very nice and private where you are seated. It's easy to order on the tablet. The food is amazing! I couldn't stop ordering the potato salad sandwich and the pancackes!

Good by chain standards - Edit
We dropped in for dinner after failing to get a table at sold-out Ain Soph nearby. Though this is a chain restaurant with a by-the-numbers approach to the food business, there is some reasonably good food to be found. The menu is mostly comfort food, though there are a few healthier items like the edamame, which was the tastiest item we had.

Japanese-influenced American diner food - Edit
Located on the bottom floor of an office high-rise, KOMEDA is has a broad array of foods traditionally found in an American diner (burgers, cocoa, coffee, pancakes) but with a Japanese influence. Not the best vegan meal I’ve had in Tokyo but nothing wrong with it either. It hit the spot as we packed up and headed to the airport.

Lots of Western-style options - Edit
We came here a couple of times when we just wanted something quick and easy, and it didn’t disappoint. They’re pretty busy in the mornings because they open much earlier than other vegan restaurants in the area. Would particularly recommend the lemon soy meat sandwich, the soft serve and the ice chocolate.
