"I didn't know vegan food could taste this good!" - Edit
I took my omnivorous partner here and her reaction was "I didn't know vegan food could taste this good!". I definitely recommend getting a few of the small plates as there's such a wide variety. Don't worry if you order too many. They'll still be good for leftovers the next day. ;)

Genuinely gorrrgeous food. Pretty pricey but worth it & great portion sizes. Do NOT skip the hummus. It’s staggeringly great

We need one of these in Wales! 😍 - Edit
Koocha is nestled on a quirky street, just outside of Bristol city centre.
Read moreWe were greeted with enthusiasm and the atmosphere was light, friendly and made us want to stay all afternoon.
(Trinity was our member of staff today and they were knowledgeable and seemed to really enjoy their job. They also made a killer cocktail!)
We ordered two large glasses of Malbec 6 Mezze plates to share, two desserts, a dirty chai latte and an espresso martini.
The food came promptly, was well presented and packed full of flavour. My favourite dish was the whipped feta and cucumber, my husband's was the crispy oyster mushrooms with buffalo sauce.
We don't have any Persian style vegan restaurants in Wales and that definitely needs to change, but for the time being we are happy to travel to Bristol for this absolute gem!

Most of us were full from our mains but a few had enough room for pudding and the chocolate brownie with icecream smelt delicious (kids confirmed it was)
A great place for authentic Persian flavours or just some really dirty fries

Fantastic mezze dishes and baklava - Edit
Have had dinner here a couple of times with family and it never disappoints. The small dishes are so flavoursome and the baklava for dessert is to die for! Even non-vegans in the family can’t get enough 😍

Vegan Sunday Roast - Edit
Went to Koocha for the first time today for Mother’s Day. I have wanted to go here since I heard first it existed, and it did not disappoint. We got one each of the Wellingtons and then split them between us. Everything was delicious and we’re pretty sure we discovered religion through the medley of flavours - new and familiar all blending perfectly. The vegan Yorkshire Puddings were perfect and we loved the spin on cauliflower cheese. Will definitely be back to try their other menu items!

Amazing! - Edit
Koocha is a lovely restaurant/cocktail bar with a cosy feel and pretty decor. The menu is full of interesting dishes and it was hard to narrow down what to pick! Me and my wife both went for the 3 for £21 mezze dishes as this let us try 6 dishes and get a real variety from the menu.
Read moreThe mezze dishes we went for were:
- Artichoke Dip; delicious, nice big portion and went really nicely with the side of lovely warm, tasty Zaatar Laffa Bread we also ordered
- Kookoo; delicious, meaty balls which contrasted really well with the sweet sauce
- Katayfi Rolls; delicious rich flavour with a thin crispy topping which provided an unusual and very enjoyable texture. The standout mezze dish for me!
- Oyster Wings; these had an excellent super crispy batter with rich flavour, so so good
- Arayes; delicious warm pitta stuffed with meaty mince that contrasted perfectly with the thick, creamy yoghurt
- Doner Bao Buns; nice, meaty doner in a lovely fluffy bun
For dessert we shared the Authentic Baklava. Again this was excellent with a lovely dense texture and delicious rich flavour which contrasted perfectly with the light, sweet cream that came with it.
We had such a good time here - the dishes were creative, exciting, full of amazing flavours and textures that went so well together and we loved every single one! I would highly recommend coming here!
Pros: Delicious and creative dishes, Amazing flavours, Lots of choice

absolutely ace sunday roast - Edit
i visited solo in may 2024 when it was absolutely roasting out. on the sunday the place was packed and got seated upstairs— the waitress was incredibly kind and steered the AC unit in my direction as i was sitting down! i didn’t have to ask for water either as it was put straight in front of me.
Read morei ordered the roast and it came out within 10 minutes. everything on the plate was fantastic. my water AND gravy were both refilled as soon as they were empty too.
as i was on my own i had a nice chat with the waitresses who were all totally lovely. the cheesecake for dessert was ridiculously yummy as well. if i remember correctly it was a pistachio cheesecake, and had a soft creamy marshmallow on the top (as you can see in the pic). 10000% recommend. nicest roast i’ve had at a restaurant!
Pros: extremely filling, tasty food, excellent attentive service, really nice atmosphere overall

Stunning flavours in a relaxed environment - Edit
I’ve been wanting to go to Koocha for ages and it didn’t disappoint. I went for the mezze and the spices used in each dish were just beautiful. The mocktail and takeaway baklava I had were also delicious. My partner said the burger and fries were tasty too.

Awesome Sunday lunch - Edit
Great atmosphere and service. The main menu looked amazing with lots of choice, but we went for the Sunday roast. Wellington with either juicy marbles or butternut squash and beetroot. One of our party had a nut allergy which the server dealt with excellently. Too full for dessert!

Fantastic Vegan Gem - Edit
On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Our server was excellent and dealt with my particular brand of bullshit fantastically. I ordered one of every type of available Mezze on the menu and was not disappointed. A fantastic evening at Koocha with the amazingly patient Trinity providing knowledgeable answers to my inane questions. I will certainly revisit.

Hit and miss - there are some way better mezze places in Bristol - Edit
Food was hit and miss - one dish I liked for about half of the meal and then (as it cooled) I realised it was insanely sugary as opposed to flavourful. Also was not a fan of the texture of the seitan (usually I love seitan)
Read moreSimilar story for the cocktails, which were overly reliant on sugary syrups for flavour and may have, once, looked in the vague direction of alcohol.
I don't usually mention service as I understand when it's busy things slow down. The service was poor here (didn't mind, it was a Saturday night) but then they added an 12% service charg on to an already pricey meal, which just felt very cheeky.

Agreed. I ended up feeling quite sick after the mezze dishes but couldn't put my finger on why, seemed a random mix of too many flavours together. The server wasn't particularly warming, and I was also disappointed with the extra service charge

My favourite restaurant - Edit
Koocha is my favourite ever restaurant. Every time I'm in Bristol I think I should probably try somewhere new but I just can't resist dining there again. Everything I've ever ordered is 10/10 and the drinks are also fab. Would highly recommend.
