Affordable

Nice, small place, about 5 minute walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station.

Toppings are free and lots of vegetables and sauces to choose from. 😊

Great to curb your hunger.

Falafel is amazing btw.

Best falafel ever

I tried their falafel hummus sandwich and it was perfection. You get to put unlimited toppings on your sandwich and they have quite the variety. So simple and so delicious!

Excellent fast food

Visited twice during my time in the city, once had a pitta with mushroom shoarma, once with eggplant. The pitta breads are so soft and fresh, delicious bread, and the fillings I tried were nice and fresh and tasty too.
You can add to your pitta or salad box from the bar of sauces and toppings, including different salads, veggies, etc. I particularly liked the pink onions, and the garlic sauce too.
Price was good, service was fast and friendly - would definitely visit again! #Veganuary

Surprisingly good

This place has four kinds of pita’s. I ordered a mushroom pita and it was with fresh mushrooms and cale. It was prepared fast and after, the men said we could add anything we wanted. The choices were olives, tomatoes, different sauces, carrots, lettuce, nuts,… very pleased!

Pros: A lot of toppings, Good price, Great meal

Underwhelming

There's much better falafel in Amsterdam. If you only make falafel it should be really good, not mediocre. This is more like an option if you're in the area and starving and need a quick bite.

Cons: Small portions, Mediocre falafel

Good vegan fast food

The prices are pretty good for vegan fast food 2.95 euro for regular size fries (and 2.45 euro for small fries). Everything is vegan! I liked the spicy Mayo!

Pros: Cheap, Tasty

Delicious and cheap

Extremely affordable compared to other places in Amsterdam. Delicious and you can fill your pita with so many options available. They prepare the falafels or the eggplant for you and after it's self service.

Pros: Cheap and filling , Tasty , Many locations

pushy staff albeit convenient

been back a few times and the guy working there was rushing everyone through picking their toppings which is very contradictory to the setup. All Maoz kind of taste the same so this is solid. Fries are a little off though, a bit burnt. I’ve tried to stop by a few times late at night but their doors have been locked before their posted time.

Ok for a quick bite to eat

Their offer is very simple, mainly falafel and fries. Although I appreciate the fact that it's relatively cheap, I'm not the biggest fan of the self-service concept. I'm quite bad when it comes to choosing what to put in the falafel, not to mention how to make it without losing half of it on the floor. Anyway, very convenient when you want to grab something to eat after a night out.

Good falafel and one of the cheapest options around

Six euro gets you either a salad bowl or pita with four falafel. You order, pay, sit down while they finish frying the falafel and put it in your bowl or salad, then you get up, grab it, and cram in as many veggies and sauces as you can possibly fit. Assuming you're skilled in the art of veggie stuffing, you can get a pretty decent size serving, which makes it one of the cheapest vegan meals you'll find in uptown.

The falafel themselves are better than you'd expect from a fast food chain, and if you get them right out of the fryer they're fantastic. The pita has good chew and tasted pretty fresh, which is always nice, and the sauces help make the veggies a bit more interesting. Fries were pretty dang good, too.

Staff were very pleasant and patient with my non-Dutch speaking confused self who didn't quite understand how the ordering system worked at first.

Easy

The Maoz is a chain that is often found in Amsterdams. You can make your own falafel or put together a bowl. The prices are reasonable and there is a wide range of ingredients :)

Pros: Selfmade

Cheap and customisable

I used to work very close to this shop and this would be my go-to option for lunch. It is cheap, highly customisable as you just receive the base - whether you pick a salad, a mushroom shoarma or falafel pita - and you can add all the ingredients you want on top yourself, from salads to different pickles and various sauces. It can get very messy if like me you cannot resist adding a big selection of flavours 😅 but other than that it’s great and quite cheap! Menu options with fries and drink also available, under 7€ if I remember correctly. Great for a quick bite and now fully vegan! 🌱
