Excellent Vegan For For Everyone! - Edit
I love this reataurant for so many reasons. The retro vibe, the raw vegan food (the raw tacos are superb), the vegan "junk food", the affordable prices, breakfasts, the biodegradable and compostable packaging...
Read moreA must if you are in San Diego.
I hope the restaurant spreads around the world.

So good! - Edit
So, we’re visiting San Diego and I really wanted to hit this place up. It didn’t disappoint. I had there Big Zac, which was reminiscent of my Big Mac days growing up. The original fries were hot and fresh and I had vanilla shake. Definitely going to hit this place up again before we leave.

Awesome and Expensive - Edit
Ate the Big Zac and Fries and the Kale 'Chicken' Ceasar Salad. Both meals were fantasticly awesome. The Big Was amazingly larger than McDonald's version and it was totally fulfilling. The salad was equally great and the crispy 'chicken' I are around it until the end saving the best for last. I really enjoy great salads and this by far was one of them. Only draw back was that the food is a little expensive. I spent over $30 for the people and we all only got a meal and drink with no fires or anything extra. Not sure if the burgers are sold as combos for cheaper or if you have to purchase everything individually. Otherwise, if I'm in the area u probably still will stop by because I really enjoy the food.

I love this restaurant! It is so awesome to have a vegan fast food joint to go to! I have only had breakfast here, I don’t live in San Diego but dropped by while visiting and will certainly be back!! I got the Breakfast Burrito and it was so flavorful and delicious. It was loaded with tofu, aoli, hash-browns, sausage and cheese. Amazing! I highly recommend as cant wait to come back to try other items.

Ordered a Chocolate Milkshake and a Rambler Burger. Milkshake was chalky and the burger was dry. The food was just ok.

Burgers! - Edit
Visiting from out of town, went with my son for lunch before heading to the airport. We had burgers that were filling and delicious. Also fries that were hot, crispy, and not overly salty. Even enjoyed the ketchup that treated like what I make at home rather than the too-swet commercial versions. We shared the soft-serve chocolate that was rich and delicious.

WOW! Delicious Breakfast food. - Edit
I've had my share of vegan junk food for dinner - but I never had vegan fast food breakfast until this place! We went twice on one visit to San Diego because we wanted to try so many breakfast items.
Read moreThe Breakfast was a pretty good portion, and was packed with tofu ‘egg’ scramble, provolone, sausage, potato hash, chipotle aioli, salsa and spinach in a whole wheat tortilla. I’ve had plenty of vegan burritos, and I’ve found many “breakfast” burritos just tasting like lunch or dinner burritos, but this one really had some good breakfast flavors with the potatoes and tofu scramble.
There was a Chicken and Waffle Sandwich on the menu, so we had to order it. Just like it sounds, it was a piece of breaded and fried vegan chicken with maple bacon between two waffles, and it was glorious. Definitely the most indulgent (carb-y and sugar-y) of the breakfast options, and worth it. Go for a run, and earn yourself this masterpiece.
Another day we tried breakfast sandwiches on english muffins. They are like cholesterol-free versions of McD's Egg McMuffin. We ordered one Canadian Bacon, Provolone, and Egg Muffin with spinach, and one Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Muffin with spinach – all made with plants, plants, and plants like coconut-based cheeses, tofu egg, and soy/wheat meats.
These were smaller portions, so they might not satisfy like the other breakfast items (we weren't super hungry this time)
We also got a milkshake, and while they are usually made with almond milk, they gladly whipped one up with soy for me. The food is obviously more expensive than other fast food joints, but hopefully the price doesn't scare people away. It's worth a few extra bucks on so many levels.
Pros: delicious food, lots of options

I go here way too much haha it is my favorite restaurant ever. The price is reasonable especially for delicious food and the portions are great. I always get the Big Zac which is a vegan Big Mac. Amazing. My mouth always waters thinking about it. I love their milkshakes. I get the caramel and the mocha together soooo good. I love the voodoo fries, mini corn dogs, hot dogs, and the breakfast sandwhich bagel. Delicious.

Wow- we love this place. It's definitely not how I would want to eat every day, but if you liked fast food before being vegan you'll like a treat.

The Future of Fast Food! - Edit
2/28/17
Read moreHaving enjoyed many meals here over the past year, I finally got in today to try the new Big Zac, fries, and vanilla shake, my go-to meal combo of 20+ years ago at a certain yellow-arched eatery. It brought back the identical taste sensations but without the leaden stomach afterwards. Can’t say for sure, but I think it would be near impossible for an omnivore to tell the difference. Kudos on creating a healthier, cruelty-free version of a once-upon-a-time classic!
Original Review 1/23/16
My wife, Anita, and I just returned from the inaugural, pre-opening dinner at this fantastic, bright, brand new vegan eatery! With four drive-up kiosks (place order on computer; order brought to your car), ample indoor & outdoor seating, and a spacious parking lot, Plant Power is destined to be the McDonald's of vegan fast food. The second location is already under renovation/construction in nearby Encinitas. We'll be able to tell our grandchildren and great-grandchildren that we ate at the very first one!

vegan ice cream - Edit
Let me start out by saying I've been eating vegan for 20 years. So I have Lots of experience with this food. I had both the fish and the carne asada tacos. The tortillas were way dry, like seriously stiff. The flavor of both had too much citrus. Instead of kale, they would've been better with just romaine lettuce or some other tender leaf. My wife had the Rambler burger with the black bean patty, and she liked it but it did not have the wow factor. It did not get a very strong reaction from her. And when she really likes something you will know it right away. We also had the strawberry cheesecake - very tasty but not very creamy. The ice cream was the saving grace - creamy and tasty.

Great addition to OB - Edit
Though I think they could have EASILY picked a better name, makes me cringe every time I read or hear it, I give this place two thumbs up.
Read moreThrough the years there was more than a few times I wished their bigger brother, Evolution Fast Food, was open before 11. By that time I've usually already bought my lunch.
This place is not only open for lunch time, but also breakfast. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water. I don't know what else to write other than just writing this has convinced me I'm getting a chicken & waffle sandwich w/ coffee tomorrow morning.
Pros: Breakfast Menu., Breakfast Menu., Breakfast Menu.
Cons: The name., Price.

Encore! Encore! - Edit
Normally, we have a rule when we travel to try as many vegetarian places as possible. Plant Power forced us to break that rule for the first time ever. It was so good, we decided to eliminate another planned stop in order to go back again! The first time, we had lunch (dee-licious!) Since they had a breakfast menu, we wanted to try that too. We were not disappointed! A “chicken breast” between two waffles justified the return trip.

Plant Power is an easy stop as you come into OB, located kitty-corner from OB People's Food. We made a quick stop, picking up two Rambler burgers, a "fish" sandwich, and sweet potato medallions.
Read moreThe Rambler was one of the better burgers I've had, with its crunchy onion rings. My dad had the "beefy" patty, and I don't think he would have known it was vegan if we hadn't told him. The fish sandwich was very good. The sweet potato medallions were just okay.
While the food is good, it's a bit overpriced. San Diego has a lot of vegan options now, and Plant Power isn't the greatest value in comparison.
Pros: Good food, Friendly people

The one and only place I wanted to eat in at San Diego. The place is very nice, spacious and the portions are big. Love the milkshakes and smoothies. Also the burritos were great. The staff was really friendly. There are seats outside if you'd like and it's very close to the dog beach! I had a great time.
