Nice staff and food

We had choice from 3 main meals and took the complete menu with starter, soup, drink, coffee and cake. The food was very tasty and the staff very nice and helpful.

Hearty lunch

We walked here after a visit to Torre de Belem (took about 15 minutes) and enjoyed a hearty three course lunch that was great value for money. For mains we had an African stew and a tofu-stuffed cabbage leaf dish. Both came with rice / couscous and salad. There doesn't seem to be a lot of good options for vegan eateries in Belem / Alges, but Sabor Superior is worth a visit.

Fantastic Lunch

We had been visiting the Archaeology Museum in the more touristy Belem end of town so were expecting a boring sandwich meal grabbed in a cafe somewhere. But a HappyCow found Sabor Superior a fantastic all Vegan cafe near Alges Metro/Bus stop. A simple menu (3 mains), tasty food, outstandingly friendly service. It must be very popular with locals as it was almost full for a late lunch which emptied before we finish. Worth a visit if you are up at that end of town.

Pros: All Vegan, Friendly Service, Multi-lingual

Cons: Small'ish so busy at lunchtimes

Average

The food was ok, but not very tasty. We were a bit disappointed, got some expectations because of the other reviews. Will not recommend it.

Petit restaurant charmant

Superior!

Fresh and delicious food served by very friendly staff. We tried two different plates, soups and cakes as well.
The size of the portions was just enough for us.
This was probably the best restaurant we have visited during our stay in Lisbon area.

Pros: delicious food, friendly staff, inexpensive

Perfect healthy food

First time I came here and it was an wonderful surprise. Quality of food is excellent with several daily vegan dishes to choose from(6.5€ for one daily dish) .. They have deserts without sugar added.. Staff is very welcoming.

Pros: Several vegan options with good price.

Good

The restaurante is nice and the food looks good but it didn't have a lot of flavour, I ordered a beet and tofu burger and tasted my friend's chilli and it was a little bland but still good, I also had a slice of orange tart and it tasted great although it was a little too sweet. Overall it's a nice place to eat at.

Pros: All vegan place

So nice!

I would say that it was a very typical portuguese restaurant, very simple, quiet, small with calm waiters.
They had 3 different main courses (6,50€ each).
They all seemed simple but well thought and they were delicious.
I definitely want to go back there!

sabor inferior

This "restaurant" serves food that is shameful to the vegan movement. I don't know whether we were really unlucky or whether the local vegans have numb palates. We ordered 2 entries and two mains plus two deserts. The samosas were tasteless. Not disgusting, rather fresh, but simply no taste whatsoever. Same story for the mains. Actually worse! The plates wer simply not warm. And no taste whatsoever. Now the deserts were uneatable! We had to throw them away at home, cause we took them for take away. And it was not cheap. No. I have no idea WHY it was so bad. The reviews here are very good and the owners are Indian which means they know perfectly well to cook tasty vegan food. And they are very friendly which makes it hard to write a bad review. The message for you guys should be: wake up! With the food you served us you are ruining the vegan movement! Now good luck and Hare Krishna!

Pros: Friendly people

Cons: Bad deco, No taste whatsoever in the food , Uneatable desert.

delicious dinner, great value!

I had the pleasure of dining at Sabor Superior for dinner last night! I had the chickpea stroganoff with rice and salad. Also had one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life! The food was out of this world and the staff were attentive, warm and inviting. Highly recommend. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Lisbon!
