Great for what it is - Edit
Stopped in here between bus changes. Exciting menu. We had Roast Cauliflower wrap, Babaganoush and a couple of empiladas. Everything was super tasty. Would have liked to sample more but portion sizes very generous and our time was short. Definitely worth a visit if in Inverness

Hit and miss - Edit
2025: Quality seems to have gone down compared to two years ago. Falafel wrap was really dry and flavourless even when we added more tahini and added some muhmrara it was still inedible and we had to ask for a refund which we’ve never done before. The Kibbeh and fries were better and the chocolate mousse was good although a small portion. Maybe other food options on the menu are better but likely wouldn’t return.
Read more2024: Kibbeh not as good as before- more oily and seemed a bit stingy with the dip that came with it
2023:Take away street food to eat in the courtyard that has music- either a soundtrack or DJ on Friday eve. On our first visit it cost £20 for 4 small dishes and a can drink which was enough to share between the two of us. We had skinny fries (nicely seasoned), kibbeh with choice of dip (we got baba ganoush), mixed veg wontons (good amount of spice/heat), small Muhammara dip with bread. Food all tasty, filling and good value. It’s a shame it’s disposable packaging although they’ve tried to choice greener choices: Paper, wood and compostable packaging, although not sure it actually gets recycled at the market as it looked like the guy emptying the bins just threw it all together.
Second visit was on a Friday night with a DJ- might be too stimulating for some, a buzzy environment with lots of people eating in the courtyard- mainly families which was nice. We got the Cauliflower bowl (bit bland) and kimchi wontons (one of our favourites)

International vegan food - Edit
This food stall is located in the Victoria Markets of Inverness. It offers an international variety of small vegan snacks to rich bowls. I had the Spicy Cauliflower bowl which I very much enjoyed. I think the price could’ve been a bit lower but the food was great and fastly made.

super delicious fast food in the Victorian Market - Edit
Salt N Fire was the only vegan place in Inverness – so we went there twice! For lunch, we had the wraps – one with cauliflowers and one with falafel –, dirty fries, and chocolate mousse, which were so good! We came back for dinner and had a mix of all the available wonton flavours, some dirty fries, and an empanada. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere at the Victorian Market was really nice, with lots of people and live music.

Picknick anyone? - Edit
Sometimes, I go to a Middle Eastern store and buy some cans of stuff and bread for a picknick. The Makdous Bil Zeitoun and Mousaka I ordered were very similar: good but not in any way special and cold „out of the can“. For someone starved for veggies, that wasn‘t what I was hoping for. I would definitely order something different next time.

Great food - Edit
Lovely food. I had an empanada which was 10/10 and a mousaka which I expected to be hot and misunderstood - it was a chilled dish served with bread, but still nice! Someone I was with had a noodle dish which they liked - large portion size so they couldn't finish it!

Fully vegan restaurant in de food hall. Just love it. We had the falafel and the aubergine wrap. Portions are big enough to feed you for the rest of the day. Chocolate moose as a dessert.

Good dumplings! - Edit
I was very happy to see a fully vegan place at this market. I only tried their 'wontons' and they were really good! I'd say they are more like fried gyoza/mandu than wontons but still good dumplings! The staff was lovely and they also do a very nice fresh orange juice.

Beyond Disappointing - Edit
I had the “moussaka” and it tasted like uncooked and unseasoned tomatoes dumped over some eggplant and poorly cooled onions. It was awful. If I could give this one star, I would. I had high hopes for a vegan restaurant. I am so disappointed.

Tasty but confused! - Edit
Ordered 2 small moussakas for a quick hot bite. We were given a pager, food only took a couple of minutes. What came out was a delicious onion aubergine and tomato layered dish with a ?tahini sauce on top. It was delicious but a COLD dish. Never having had a cold moussaka before I wish it had specified this somewhere and I would have chosen differently.

Tasty but "heavy" - Edit
The dishes were tasty but not a lot of fresh options, like...a salad.more the fast food kind of food. And the wantans/gyozas tasted all the same, even we ordered 3 different stuffings. Dogs are allowed (can be quite crowded as it is in a food hall).

Mmm - Edit
The loaded fries were super crispy and saucy which I loved. We also had the cauliflower wrap. The wrap was just boiled, no seasoned cauliflower which I though was odd and some sauce and salad veg. The veg tasted of vinegar and the sauce was such a tiny amount you could barely taste it. Overall the wrap had very little taste. Some flavour for the cauliflower or fried, just anything to give flavour would be beneficial. I'd go back for the fries and maybe to try something else but a bit put off by how tasteless it was

The food was great. We ordered mixed veg wontons (sadly there was no chive and leek ones left by 5.30!), and dirty fries. Didn't have to wait long and it was really good. Also pleased to note it was quite busy compared with the other stands in the market at that time!

Very tasty food - Edit
We visited Salt N Fire for lunch in November 2024 and were very impressed. It's in a food court which isn't to everyone's liking, but as food courts go it's pretty nice. There were lots of options and we settled on the Pad Kra Pao bowl and the Harissa Cauliflower. The Pad Kra Pao was great - lots of tasty tofu and a nice spicy sauce. The cauliflower was also lovely, cooked to perfection and really flavoursome. Both portions were a good size and we'll definitely go back here next time we're in Inverness.
