We had takeaway food. Lots of flavour and very colourful. Clean and well presented. Nice vib and very kind and caring people work there. 50% of what they make in profits goes towards feeding and caring for the stray dogs, 15 in total.

We were there for dinner and it was really crowded, but we had a nice little place upstairs. The burger I had was very good.

Ordered the house burger with extra vegan cheese (coconut based) and I was certainly not disappointed. Good portion, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Would certainly come back again.

The food was to die for. We had a pumpkin soup, soy and mushroom wrap and a Mediterranean wrap. All the food was so good. This is one of the places you can bring a meat eater to and they will also love it.

Viele vegane Optionen. Leider gibt es dort scheinbar keine Pizza mehr - schade! Burger und Avocado-Wrap waren auch sehr gut. Wir waren noch ein zweites Mal zum Frühstück dort. Perfekte Avocado-Toasts und frischer Saft!

We had the jackfruit burger and the jackfruit wrap! Both made vegan and it was delicious. More expensive than eating at local places but worth it as a treat for nice burger and fries!

We had to wait some time for our food but it was worth the wait. The food was delicious (especially the coconut-chocolate bar!) and the prices are absolutely fair. High recommendation and so nice to find such a place in Kandy!

Plenty of variety, staff were friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. The staff double checked with me if I was vegetarian or vegan, so they have a great understanding of what's vegan.

Hard to find and limited variety - Edit
Despite a menu that looks like half of it is vegan, only two dishes are marked vegan and we were assured by our server that that was all we could have as vegans.
Read moreIt was really hard to find and didn’t feel like a very safe place to be, so we left and went to the nearby food court on the fourth floor of the shopping centre which had lots of choice of Thai, Chinese and Indian dishes suitable for vegans.
We were messaged afterwards inviting us to come back and they would tell us what on their menu could be veganised. Seems a shame that they don’t just mark all the items that are quite obviously vegan (unless they add mayo or something?). The menu is very limited too. Pasta, wraps and a bowl or two. So not a spot for an evening meal.

Thanks for your review. As we have already told you this was a misunderstanding, that's why we invited you back to highlight our vegan options. And as you can see from other reviews mainly all dishes can be veganized. A review based on a marking on the menu which for sure had its logics when we created it seems a bit picky. Especially when we made so many vegans happy before you. Also mentioning that this "didn't feel like a very safe place" needs more information. It's not on a main road but otherwise it's safe. Also our menu is definitely not limited, we never heard this before. You can't compare a food court in a shopping mall with multiple stalls to a normal restaurant. Other restaurants even have less variety. Again, we are sorry that we didn't match your needs. Thanks and best, Soul Food

We were in Kandy during the curfew when most things were closed. Fortunately, a guy on the street told us about Soul Food and personally escorted us there which was wonderful because we never would have found it otherwise! It's tiny and a bit hidden. There were so many friendly people... the owner, staff and it seemed just friends hanging out that were all so lovely and appreciative we stopped by. The owner also feeds the people who live on the street and the homeless dogs! I wish we had arrived hungry (we had unfortunately just eaten at our guest house who told us every restaurant was closed!) but I was able to force myself to get a smoothie bowl and am glad I did! It was delicious. We hoped to try the vegan avocado mousse but they were out due to curfew / shopping restrictions. Definitely stop by if you're in town!

the staff were all very welcoming and they were open during a power cut which was very handy ! the pizza had vegan cheese options and the hawaiian was very tasty, all cooked in a proper stone pizza oven. pricier than other places in the areas but worth it and something you can’t really get anywhere else in kandy.
