Absolutely filthy; food was dreadful.

First impressions weren't great because the place is possibly the dirtiest pub/restaurant I've ever seen. Tables were sticky and crusty with food, the floor was filthy and pretty much everything else was covered in grime. We stuck it out because the reviews on here were so good we thought the kitchen must be run differently to the rest of the pub, but we were wrong. Food was poor - I had the chilli dog and my daughter had burger. Both were equally bad. The food seemed like it had been reheated; chilli was definitely the worst Ive ever had, both the hot dog and the burger were on soggy rolls. We ordered a side of gravy which came in a dirty little jar and it was full of lumps. I cannot say anything positive about the meal or most of the service, except that the barmaid I spoke to about how bad it had been gave me a refund.

Wow!!

Wanted to give this 1 star but had to give it 2!!!!
Really excited to eat here as I'd checked out the website and was overjoyed to find an all vegan eatablishment -
read a review from 2 days previous which cast a shadow but was convinced that maybe it was a one off as other reviews seemed excellent
Nope she was spot on! First impression was a weird unpleasant smell - it was really dark and our table was sticky. I asked politely for a clean cloth so that I could clean it - the barmaid who had not been very friendly anyway, appeared unimpressed and ran a cloth under the tap - squirted something on it and passed it to me. This was quite amusing! It was a cold, old jay cloth - I cleaned the table and it didn't really help and all I could think of was the germs on my hands - upon previously visiting the toilet I was disgusted, based on that knowledge I wasn't sure if washing my hands would really help; I'd used the sleeve of my coat to open the door on my earlier visit. our food arrived and was fairly tasty but was served on what could only be described as plastic school dinner trays - A little while later after we had eaten, thankfully, a dog peed up a nearby stool this was cleaned up by its owner with blue roll - no disinfectant in sight!
To top it off the chef stood at the bar eating a takeaway pizza!!! What a message that could give!
Sad as this could have easily have been a much more pleasurable experience - Amazing potential but absolutely no effort whatsoever and we would have returned again during our visit to Liverpool - as it stands I think it should not even be advertised here! Hope this helps others to avoid a bad stomach which I subsiquently suffered following my visit.
