Super tasty food! - Edit
Delicious and economic food and desserts. Not all the menu is vegan but they have a lot of options. The "chapata-pizza" is superb and the Spanish omelette is fantastic. Big portions and great deal!

Vegan options are clearly marked and tasty! - Edit
The menu clearly marks the dishes that are vegan, and the waiters/waitresses were knowledgeable about veganism. Great place that was filled predominantly with locals. The food is cheap but yummy. Don’t miss the vegan tortilla!! Wish I had gotten a chance to try their cake because it looked delicious.

Best Tortilla de Patatas ever! Great service. - Edit
Just had a great experience here! One of the main things I have missed since going vegan is tortilla de patata and the vegan one you can buy in supermarkets isn't great to be honest. I was so happy to stumble across this place and see so many vegan options, even more so to see a chapata with vegan tortilla and salmorejo. The service was amazing. My waiter was super nice and attentive and the sandwich was SO GOOD. I honestly haven't enjoyed a meal that much in so long. The waiter even offered me vegan mayonnaise to have with it. Price was excellent. Will hopefully be back soon :D
Read moreAlso, just another nice note, a man came in trying to sell things to customers and instead of point blank telling him to leave, the waiter offered him a glass of water and spoke to him. Wish more establishments would do this too! There is a way to turn people like this away without being rude.
Pros: Vegan tortilla, Range of vegan options , Excellent staff
Cons: There's no Viva Chapata in Belfast :(

worst vegan hamburger ever - Edit
I am sorry to be writing such a bad review, it's literaly the first time I do that, but I would be happy to read a review like that to prevent me from spending a lot of money for horrible food. Me and my boyfriend orderd classical vegan burger and it was so horrible I feel sick just thinking about it. It didn't have any sauce and the burger had absolutly no taste and the texture was like flour sticked together by water. I can still feel this sticky hard ball in my stomach and feel kind of sick. The bread was kind of dry and just fell apart like the rest of the burger did when eating it. If it wasn't for the 5 bags of ketchup I wouldn't be able to eat even two bites. Maybe the rest of the food is not bad, though I doubt it, since they've put so little effort in this burger. The atmosfere was nice and the staff really friendly, but I don't understand how can they price that much for this kind of food.

Vegetarian tapas experience in an authentic looking bar - Edit
The menu offers a selection of vegetarian tapas. They also have pizza, burgers, sandwiches and burrito
Read moreYou can enjoy the typical average spanish tapas bar here in a vegetarian version. But mind you, avarage spanish tapas means a lot of grease/oil and salt ;) So dont expect healthy or refined food. But it's a very welcome option because in regular places in Madrid the only thing veg on the menu is fried potato and fried peppers. So I would visit again and will recommend.

Yuk! - Edit
Had the worst meal I have been served in a long time. I ordered a vegan burger on a corn tortilla, supposedly with vegies.
Read moreI got a starchy, inedible patty that seemed to be mainly flour. It was sitting on something white and tasteless. I think that was supposed to be the tortilla. The only real food was a few thin slices of tomato, but no other vegetables.
The 'meal' was accompanied by lots of nachos and a nameless sauce.
I left almost all of the meal and just ate too many of the nachos cos I was hungry.
Pros: Other vegan options on the menu, but little that w

One of the best vegan spanish omelettes - Edit
Viva Chapata offers one of the best vegan spanish omelettes of Madrid amongst a variety of vegan and non-vegan traditional spanish dishes.
Read moreThe menu has a broad selection of sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and traditional dishes plus a small selection of dishes that changes daily (only for lunch).
It is not one of the cheapest options in the area but it is worth it if you are interested either in the omelette (tortilla) or in one of the dishes offered that day.
Pros: Great spanish omelette
Cons: Prices, Still serves meat

Excellent - Edit
Normally, when traveling, I try to solely visit vegan restaurants, and I can't quite remember how I ended up here, but on my trip to Madrid March '15, I did, and I am so glad I did!
Read moreThe service was very friendly, although they wouldn't allow me to split up the tapas for 2-plate. I got it just for me instead and it was so much food! And so good! I ate as much as possible, and when I couldn't eat more, I had the rest to go and it made for the perfect night snack.
Will be back when visiting Madrid again.

Reasonable - Edit
This little bar has a lovely vibe, friendly staff, and a big vegan range of classic Spanish tapas.
Read moreThe tapas we ordered were, unfortunately, very heavy and served with no style at all. One, for example, was just deep fried eggplant thrown on a plate with sauce squeezed on top. And they were unfortunately out of the dish I'd been lost looking forward to (croquettes).
I enjoyed being able to try traditional dishes that I've not been able to eat in Spain, and I loved the atmosphere. I probably wouldn't go back, though.
Pros: Traditional Spanish tapas, reasonably priced, lovely staff and atmosphere
Cons: Oily and heavy food, bland presentation, some menu items unavailable

Tasty tapas in Lavapiés - Edit
Nice place in Lavapiés with a fair list of tasty vegan tapas: hummus, mushroom croquettes, vegan Spanish omelette, sandwiches in ciabatta, small vegan pizzas, etc. Not the most original and exciting tapas of the world, but there are enough to choose and they taste great. A good bar to go with non-vegan friends and share the order.
