Not vegan anymore

Did not change the name on grab. Ended up having a piece of real chicken when I realized this can't be vegan. Upon checking their Instagram, it seems they have changed the concept!

So sad.... it was one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Ubud, but if it's no more vegan I won't come back... 😞

I should have looked at the reviews.

I arrived to find no one there but me, although the venue and surroundings are lovely, as are the staff. That should have been my red flag.

The concept is interesting. But essentially it means you end up over paying for something you'd pay a third, if not less, for elsewhere (I recommend Wulan just a little bit further down the street).

However, you don't mind paying a bit more if the food is delish and memorable. But none of what they served was.

I had the jackfruit rendang, it was the most bland rendang I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered the tempeh, it was ok. I ordered the eggplant with tomato, I was hoping it was going to be a nice rich spicy tomato sambal with eggplant like I've had elsewhere. Instead no spice, just ok. I had the tofu kebabs with peanut sauce, but there was no peanut sauce. Instead it was rubbery tofu with a sweet sticky glaze.

I was disappointed. I'm only in Ubud for a few days and felt I just wasted valuable stomach space. 😝

The only saving grace was the veg pickle. That was delicious!

I have no idea what this place was like back in the day, but I don't recommend it now.
