Lemon Basil Beans

    Instructions

    Saute garlic in oil until slightly brown. Add beans, tomatoes, and small amount of water.
    Cook for 5 minutes. Add basil, garlic, pepper, and chili sauce, and cook for 30 more seconds. Squeeze lemon juice into the bean mixture. Stir, remove from heat, and serve.

    Ingredients

    1 tablespoon oil
    2 medium tomatoes, diced
    1 can navy bean, cooked and drained
    1 small lemon, juice
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    large handful fresh basil, chopped
    black pepper
    chili sauce (optional)
    water

      I've made this twice. First I followed the recipe (except for chili sauce); it was okay. A few weeks later, I tried it again, used more basil and put in green chiles: very different! Thanks for this basic recipe. I'll keep building on it and adjust with what works for me.
