Delicious and authentic food. The staff had wonderful suggestions and even better energy. Very accommodating for vegans. Very fair prices and portions. Would give 5 stars if I could

I understand your frustration Tdawg, and while I encourage supporting fully vegan businesses as much as possible, not everyone always has the time and transportation to reach one. So it’s nice to have options and friendly welcomes from nearby places even if they don’t fully align with our morals. Also I believe showing them our energy and intentions first hand is a great way of planting seeds of evolution. We can ask things like “Do you have any compassionate meals” or “any murderless options” to maybe expose them to the truth. And the more vegan orders they receive, the more they may consider integrating more options or converting fully. But I appreciate you speaking for the voiceless and respect the warrior within you. Stay blessed (:

Thanks for your considered reply, pdawg. I think it’s important to highlight not only the animal cruelty involved in serving the products of animal slaughter and cruelty, but also the culture in which vegans are supposed to feel grateful for any crumbs we’re thrown, which is where my comment was directed. This attitude allows eateries to feel they’ve satisfied vegans (and done enough ethically) merely by providing an option.

As for the idea that requesting vegan options can encourage businesses to become vegan, I have seen little evidence for this, and more evidence to the contrary. Remember that when there are vegan options on a menu that doesn’t imply any less of the products of animal abuse is being served.

While I responded to your review, I’m commenting on a wider phenomenon in which we are somehow impressed when an omni restaurant “understands” vegan or modifies a dish to make it vegan even if there is nothing listed on the menu. Omni places get more kudos because the bar is lower.

Always brilliant

We’ve been here several times now and always love it. They have a large, varied separate vegan menu. Tonight we had the Garlic Roti, Veggie Korma, spicy cauliflower and Onion Baji. Absolutely delicious

Pros: Flavour

Great service, tasty food

Vegan menu was in display at the entrance. Chose aloo gobhi with garlic roti. A ‘just right’ serving for one. Recommend.

Pros: Good number of vegan options, Taste, Service

Separate vegan menu

I’ve walked past a few times and I’ve noticed there is now a separate vegan menu which has about 3 entrees and 6-7 vegan main dishes.
We ordered onion bhaji, aloo saag, vegetable jalfrezi and roti. My favourite dish is aloo saag and this was one of the nicest aloo saag’s I’ve eaten. Really well spiced and the consistency was nice. A lot of flavour and a good sized serving. I tried the veg jalfrezi too and that was really tasty.
The staff were nice and asked about spice level which I appreciate.

Pros: Separate Vegan menu
