Elegant - Edit
Made a reservation for 7:30 for the carte Blanche 7 course vegan menu for 98€ per person. The courses were paced well and rapidly. The chefs bites were a mini mushroom croquette and a tomato cracker that tasted like pizza in a good way. Then a potato foam over kohlrabi, with some Smokey flavor. The starters were better than the mains. The first starter was a peach sorbet over eggplant, quite amusing. The next starter was a Peruvian inspired leche de Tigre dish served with coca bread. This was one of our favorites. The last starter was a roasted watermelon and mushroom dish. The mains were a kimchi dumpling with salmorejo and a red wine blueberry reduction over kolhrabi- too much sauce. Our favorite was the palate cleanser which was a citrus granita. Two desserts. First one was Indian spiced with pineapple. Second one was chocolate with berries. The vegan madelines at the end were a good attempt but probably not accurate.

Extraordinary - Edit
It was truly one of the best meals I have had. We savored a seven-course menu with a wine pairing over 2.5 hours. Even my non-veg husband loved it. There are no photos, as the dishes were timed and choreographed by the amazing staff, and photography felt disruptive to the carefully crafted flow.

AMAZING! - Edit
Arkhe puts together one of the most amazing vegetarian/vegan tasting experiences out there. The chef adapted the 7 course meal to be vegan. (But it was far more than 7 courses with all of the additional bites, including the delicious bread.) We’ve never felt so satiated after a tasting menu. The menu was extremely creative, too. We happen to be seated at the chefs table in the back, and we were able to watch the kitchen during the service. The chef came over to our table to serve several courses, and we had the opportunity to speak to him at the end. The entire experience was a treat!

Stellar experience - Edit
The quality of the meal, the service, and the surroundings was exceptional. Our table of four had the seven course option (which, with amouse bouche, palate cleanser, final chocolates, and two different bread servings, was more like 12 courses) and everything was just perfect. They even ensured that my father received an alternate course when the usual one would have been too spicy. It’s clear that everyone at Arkhe is passionate about what they do, and it elevates the experience as a result. And while yes, it isn’t an inexpensive meal, it is worth it (and would be at least twice the price in the U.S.) - we would most certainly return if we find ourselves in Lisbon again.

Beautiful food and great service - Edit
We opted for the seven course tasting menu and each dish was unique and surprising. Every dish could have sat alongside the dishes on some of Landon’s Michelin started vegan taster menus. Yes, it’s expensive but it is an experience and great quality. For that type of food and service the price is not crazy. The service was well choreographed but remained friendly rather than clinical. Would absolutely book again on another trip.

Stunning food / stunning price - Edit
My husband booked Arkhe for a recent big birthday of mine and I was really looking forward to it. On arrival we were seated next to the toliet which was disappointing as he'd told them it was a special occasion. We bought some very delicious / expensive wine and opted for
Read morethe 5 course tasting menu ... Each course was either sublime or packed full of so much flavour my mouth was dancing! The 5 courses were just about the right amount of food, although not sure how much additional space 2 more small courses would have taken up!
The service was very intense and slightly clinical, not as welcoming or friendly as one might hope for when spending serous money, maybe I was being silly to think such an establishment would be fabulous and down to earth at the same time. I don't live in Lisbon but if I were to return I wouldn't book again. So many nice places to eat out in Lisbon!

They Deserve a Michelin Star - Edit
What an experience! The food, ambiance and service were impeccable and I can't recommend this place enough.
Read moreYou can feel that every component from the moment you step foot into the restaurant to the moment you leave, is curated to make you have the most magical time. Arkhe is on the Michelin guide, which is how we found them, but don't yet have a star - which they truly deserve and in my opinion should be getting soon!
We went to many nice restaurants during our stay, but this was by far the best meal we had at Arkhe.

Such a unique, beautiful experience - Edit
10/10, 5 stars, I'm so impressed. We loved our dinner experience at Arkhe. We decided to go all out with the full tasting menu with wine pairing, my two friends had the vegetarian set, I had the vegan. All of the dishes were crafted so beautifully, they were delicious, creative, and unique. The wines as well were gorgeous, really well paired, and quite diverse. The only draw back was that the staff spoke so quietly we didn't hear half the descriptions but we didn't care, we just enjoyed. Can't recommend this enough for your next special occasion.
Read moreDepending on your budget and preference there are a few ways to have your meal - you can choose the number of courses for a set tasting menu or choose dishes from the menu card. The staff can talk you through your options to make sure you get the meal that's right for you! They asked about allergies and preferences so it seems even the tasting menus could be adapted.

Delicious Vegan tasting menu - Edit
For many months I've been feeling silly: I've tried many good vegan restaurants in many cities..yet..in the city I live... I still hadn't been to Arkhe... Yeah. Silly.
Read moreToday that changed! One thing that has stopped me was that when I tried to book it with The Fork, it seems that they only accept the fork bookings for lunch.. I had friends who succeeded booking dinner by email or calling, but to be honest it's 2022, I want to be able to book with a couple of clicks and not too much work... this is the only negative thing I have to say about Arkhe. But well, it got to a point where I had to quit waiting for them to allow me to reserve the table how I wanted and I called and booked.
It's easy to sum up the meal. The food was really really good. You have 3 choices: 3 course meal, 5 course meal (on both, you can choose which dishes you want from the list) or 7 course meal, where you'll just have everything. Beware that it's vegetarian, but you can ask for a full vegan menu, and that's what I did: 7 course vegan menu.
Everything was super well though, tasty and delicious. Service was also super nice and the venue, is in the place where Pachamama was some years ago, which is not super fancy but it's a nice spot.
Added descriptions to all the pictures. My fav dish was the Salmorejo tartelette and least fav were probably the terrine (very well executed, just not a fav for me) and the peach dessert (which personally I found a bit bland).
You can also get a wine pairing for the menu, I didn't, but got a glass of white in the beginning, and a glass of red in the last few courses. The red was good, but the white one was really really, really.. really good, it was called Ameixâmbar and it's from the Azores islands.
5* definitely, very hard to compare with the other fine dining vegan tasting menu options in Lisbon, Encanto and Mini-Bar (that is not vegetarian but does a full-vegan tasting menu)... I guess I need to return to all of them :)
Pros: Delicious food, Great service
Cons: Not being able t book dinner digitally-had to call

Excellent and attentive dining experience. - Edit
My husband and I treated ourselves to this delicious and lovely dining experience. And it’s definitely an experience. Nothing we could make at home. They created food that you wouldn’t think would work together but it does. Each bite was delicious and different. We had the 3 course with wine pairings. I would highly recommend and if we return to Lisbon, we’ll be dining here again.

An amazing vegan fine dining experience - Edit
My husband and I are in Lisbon for our honeymoon and went here for a nice dinner. We went with the 7 course meal and wine pairing. You have the option of 3, 5, and 7 courses. The quantity of the food goes down as you select more courses so it's not too much food.
Read moreIt was amazing. They did so many creative things with mushrooms and their sauces were so delicious. It was very easy to order vegan. We just told them we were vegan when we got there and the chef even made extra off menu items for us. The service was also excellent- always ready for our next course.
It's definitely expensive but good for a special occasion. If you want to go, definitely make a reservation ahead of time.
Pros: Very easy to be made vegan, Chef will custom make vegan options off-menu
Cons: Expensive

Arkhe - Edit
I had a beautiful meal here on my birthday recently. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has plants scattered throughout.
Read moreI had the three course tasting menu and substituted the dessert for an additional starter (which was a good choice!). I was so surprised by my first starter, the cold cherry soup, it was phenomenal paired with the smoked cream (they made this vegan). The second appetizer was the watermelon ceviche and that was surprisingly delish as well. The winner of the night was main, which was the gnocchi, artichoke, confit garlic...you just have to see my photos of it below...gorgeous.

Peccato - Edit

The best vegetarian restaurant in Lisbon - Edit
My favourite vegetarian restaurant in Lisbon. This restaurant is the vegetable-based reference in the city. It is very close to a fine dining experience. You'll find signature dishes cooked with high quality ingredients and great technique in a creative and sofisticared way. The menu is seasonal so it changes frequently, and the prices are a bit higher, but I find it fair. I love that they don't have a lot of options in the menu, and each one is very very good. I went there two times and I tasted all the dishes on the menu..everything was fantastic. If you like this restaurant and you're going to visit Oporto (Porto city), you should go to Fava Tonka, which is an author restaurant with a very similar cuisine.
