Best Mac n cheese! - Edit
The menu is quite small (the curry wasn't available the day we visited) but the mac n cheese with bacon, sundried tomatoes, and fried onions was excellent and worth the wait. My omni friend absolutely loved it! It was very quiet in the cafe with no music playing -- only the sound of customers chatting. There were earplugs to use for anyone who needed them.

Lovely (now at 26 Clare Street) - Edit
The food was lovely. We had a cheese, tomato and pickle baguette and Mac and Cheese. Simple but very tasty. This is a very comfortable environment. So much so, that we thought of just spending the afternoon there but decided we really should see something else in Cardiff. Worth noting that the map currently shown on the Happy Cow site is for their previous address. They are now at 26 Clare Street, CF11 6BB.

A dream - Edit
Absolutely amazing place, 100% recommend. A bit isolated from other food places in Cardiff, but it was worth the walk. I loved the atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Great to see that all the staff hired are autistic and given a chance to work.
Read moreOur food was lovely and the service was smooth. I did not get pictures of the food as we popped in for a quick lunch and I was hangry (if you know, you know). But I got the cheese and tomato toastie and my bf got a baguette with a selection of the fillings they had. Great how you are able to build your own meal.
My recommendation is the mac’n cheeze and they even do a toastie with it, which I would have so had as the cheezines was perfect for me!
Pros: All vegan, Menu changes daily, Lovely staff

Best café in Cardiff - Edit
I love this place - really good quality food, helpful staff, excellent prices, and most of all the café is designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind. They are wheelchair accessible, have a quiet zone and ear defenders/earplugs for customers to use, and have gender neutral toilets. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone!

Great place - Edit
It was lovely to meet Frankie and Selena today. They are so friendly.
Read moreThe cafe is very relaxing and homely. It's super silent when the door is closed. The only thing one can hear inside is of someone talking.
The menu is quite small for the moment but has a variety of baguettes with various fillings like chicken mayo, ham, cheese, prawns, salad etc. What caught my attention was the Jamaican Mutton curry.
Frankie has mentioned the menu will eventually expand and there are plans for a full British breakfast.
While waiting Selena brought down a sample of the mutton part of a curry which was so flavourful. It was well worth the wait for the Curry. The meal was so homely and hearty with a great blend of spices and enjoyed the tapioca making this a unique signature dish to eat. Quite filling and delicious. I'd like to see it served on a plate than a take away as I was sitting down.
I'm interested in more of the Jamaican food range to come. I love trying ethnic dishes they are unique and different.
They make use of mock meats that are not easily found in stores and that are chewy, flavourful and have a realistic appearance and taste.
Pros: 100% Vegan, Autism friendly

Aubergine Cafe - Edit
Run by Frankie and Selena, this is a lovely space for a vegan cafe. It's light and airy, and the service is excellent and quick . I had the hoisin duck baguette and my friend had the jerk chicken baguette. The texture, taste and price is perfect. have a look at their website to understand why Aubergine was created

Opening day lunch - Edit
Delicious! What would I change about my "chicken" tika baguette? Nothing.
Read moreMade fresh to order in front of me by Chris, it was just the way I wanted it.
I should have had the iced coffee instead of lemonade, nothing wrong with the lemonade, but I saw someone else's iced coffee and instantly wished I'd had that instead! Next time!!
Pros: Fresh, Friendly , Excellent value
Cons: I don't live close enough to go every day, I don't work close enough to go everyday
