The line between this and Michelin star food is thin. We loved it! - Edit
BAYTS was one of the highlights of our trip! We splurged and chose the 6 course Erlebnis (Experience) set menu. This was pretty close to Michelin star level food. Those carrots were probably the best I've ever had! Each course was a fun and delicious experience and we left extremely satisfied and impressed. The staff were also very friendly and did a great job explaining each course. Great atmosphere as well. We would definitely go back again the next time we have the chance to be on Lucerne!

Amazing. Both the food and the service, outstanding and I'm not surprised they're in the Michelin guide which I had to ask about as the standard was so high but there was nothing visible about it.
Read moreThe food: Everything about it was outstanding, creative, inventive, executed. Course one the Sweet Potato, Lemon, Fennel was my favourite of the three beautifully inventive tasters ..just! Course two, the yeast butter and vinegar gel were amazing and complimented each other perfectly. Course three was incredibly tasty but lacked texture, beautiful sauce but with the confit lions mane it needed another element for me to add texture. Course four another three inventive and well executed parts, all amazing but the shallot one was standout. Course five, lovely and very tasty but out of place on the menu. It was explained why it was there as everyone loves it, but it belongs on a street food menu which they do at a festival in Luzern in the summer I was told. It just needs redefining here. Course six, well you can't go wrong by doing spuds well for a northern lad. Perhaps my favourite course, beautiful potato wrapped in Cavalo Nero, miso sauce and chive oil. I could have eaten another one it was that good! Course seven, dessert, sublime and the cardamom ice cream was beautiful.
Drinks, some great options and I had a sparkling tea followed by kombucha which they made themselves. So nice to have different non alcoholic options.
Service, so many times I've been out where the food was great and the service was lacklustre. Not here, the service from both of the ladies that served me was as good as the food itself. Every dish explained, every detail, if I had a question they knew the answer. The explanation of the drinks, what tea they used to make the kombucha etc etc
Food 9.5/10, Service 10/10

Exzellentes Essen und sehr freundliche, zuvorkommende Mitarbeitende. Wir haben richtig gemerkt, dass sie wissen wovon sie sprechen und mit Freude da arbeiten. Ausserdem haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt, das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet, nicht zu laut und an einem gut erreichbaren Ort. Leider kann man sich das Essen (preislich) nicht jeden Tag leisten, aber wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Es lohnt sich.

Beste vegane Häppchen der Welt - Edit
Hier lässt man sich überraschen was es gibt. Bei jedem Gang kommen mehrere Häppchen, super harmonisch abgeschmeckt, saisonal, kreativ und einfach ein tolles Konzept. Dazu gibts eine passende Wein- oder Nonalkoholische Getränkebegleitung. Ich kehre immer wieder zurück und habe bis jetzt jeden Leckerbissen sehr genossen. Danke liebes Baytsteam!

Always like going back there to eat. As mentioned the menu is a surprise one where you can choose between 3 or 4 courses. If you have something to celebrate theres the place to go, as it is all vegan one does not have to think about whats in the dishes animal wise - nothing. And the staff is friendly, the atmosphere nice and overall the food is nothing like i could prepare at home and always a positive surprise. As mentioned it is in the higher price segment.

The non-alcoholic drink choices were very good, but the fried cauliflower wings are better suited for their festival season stand, it wasn't a standout meal compared to the other dishes. I could have done without it.

Great sharing plates - Edit
The menu here asks you to leave it to them….you just have to say if you have a ‘big or small hunger’. Accompanying wine or drinks are offered too. They bring sharing taster plates, all of which we thought were excellent. The place was full, has a great buzz, and we were well looked after by the Bayts team.

Top Veganes Bistro/Bar - Edit
Sehr cooles und hippes veganes Bistro/Bar. Waren schon öfter zu Kaffee, hausgemachte Limo und Kuchen dort. Die Rosmarin-Orangen Limo ist der hammer und die Cheezecakes auch. Zu Mittag waren wir auch schon, da wechselt das Menü von zu Woche, es wird also nie langweilig. Am besten auf Instagram oder Website nachschauen. Abends gibt es feine Weine und Happen, bzw eben Bites. Es gibt auch Sandwiches oder Paninis, welche auch alle sehr empfehlenswert sind. Inhaberinnen sind auch super nett!

Ich war bisher nur einmal dort, doch dieses eine Mal war toll! Das Bistro hat ein schönes, angenehmes Ambiente, der Döner war sehr lecker (selbst die Fleischesser mochten ihn sehr gerne), der hausgemachte Eistee ebenso und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Bayts is really very trendy at the moment and indeed the restaurant is very trendy, has a cool concept and good food. Nevertheless, even for Swiss standards this is way too overpriced, you definitely pay extra for the hipster atmosphere
