Best toastie I’ve ever had

My boyfriend had spicy breakfast toastie and I had the yuba caesar toastie. Both were so amazing - probs would say the caesar was the highlight if we had to choose

Pros: All vegan

Delish pastries

I popped into The Bean yesterday and bought a pain au chocolat and almond croissant and omg they were both lush! I nearly didn't buy anything as was just passing by but doubled back and went in and am glad I did! I'll be back as was lovely food but the staff member was super friendly and the cafe was cute! No pics sadly.

Pros: Vegan, Cute cafe, Nice staff

Terrific toasties

The grilled breakfast toastie is hands down the best toastie I have ever had. Needless to say, I highly recommend it!

Delicious & friendly (bonus: owner has the cutest puppy!)

Unsurprisingly a good chunk of my budgeting goes towards toasties from these place - it’s as incredibly tasty as it is a welcoming and cute spot. If I could give 100x stars I would.

Nice little cafe

We visited here in september 2025 and had a mushroom croissant and YLT toast. The croissant was a bit too heavy for us, but the toast was nice snd crispy! The cafe was quite noisy with the kitchen appliances, so not very cozy.

Great little cafe

This place is easy to miss, on a small alley below new build apartments off Hackney Downs. It has a limited menu but it's quality over quantity as everything seems to have had lots of love and care gone into it. I had a toasted sandwich which was lovely, and I'll be going back for the cakes and pastries which looks great too!

Lovely place

I really liked the atmosphere in this cute coffeeshop.
I took a toast with peas and zucchini and it was delicous. The golden latte tasted also really good.

Bean’s Cafe

Absolutely incredible stuffed croissant! They rotate the stuffing each day. The day I had this option it was a dill cream cheese with kale and tomato inside.

Bean's breakfast

This one knocked my socks off.

Fresh off a flight, waiting for an Airbnb to let me check in, I decided to go get my fill. This led me to Bean's Café. I got the Bean's Breakfast and a Golden Latte. The breakfast was top notch, with the star being the tofu skin bacon. Salty, sultry, oh so good! For brevity's sake, I'll just say the rest was really nice as well. A proper full English, just what we all need.

Pros: Amazing, fresh, delicious kitchen, Friendly all-vegan space, with vegan literature, Outlets, wifi, bathroom (it's next door, ask)

We stopped in after a lovely walk through the park for the full English breakfast. So yummy. Great lattes too. The other food looked great. I wish I could eat more - but was full!

Great little cafe!

Love this place! Been a few times and LOVE the scone. Coffee is great too but rather small for the price, but maybe it’s special organic coffee, I’d didn’t look into it!! Just know I could drink two cups haha! I’ve also had a toasty before which was nice but nothing beats the scones 😊

Pros: Interior, Friendly staff, Tasty baked goods

Cons: Size of coffee and price

Lovely café with delicious food

This is a lovely little café with a calming, relaxed environment with chilled music and a simple decor with plants.

We were greeted warmly and the selection of toasties and croissants looked amazing!

We went for the YLT, Cauliflower Kimchi Melt, Stuffed Croissant and Almond Croissant. The YLT and Cauliflower Kimchi Melt were both toasties and both delicious! The toast was crispy and they were both stuffed with creamy, flavourful fillings. They also came with extra creamy dip on the side so were even creamier! If I had to pick a winner the Cauliflower Kimchi Melt edged it for me but they were both excellent.

The croissants were also delicious! The stuffed croissant was filled with ‘cheesy’ bechamel sauce and oyster mushrooms and like the toasties was creamy and delicious. The croissant itself was flaky and buttery, really good!

The almond croissant was also really good and filled with delicious almond filling.

We also had a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice which was again delicious!

We could also see the staff prepping the food in the kitchen so we knew it was super fresh!

Pros: Delicious food, Peaceful environment, Warm staff

Perfect brunch spot

Range of sweet and savoury brunch options. Enjoyed my tofu scramble breakfast sandwich but got serious food envy when I tried my friend’s French toast!

Amazing and creative plant based cafe

An amazing cafe with lots of great options, fully plant based and super creative. There's always something new with the stuffed croissant of the day and lots of amazing toasties. The Irish rarebit was super cheesy an not too greasy 🥰

There's full English breakfasts and awesome cakes available too.

Very much worth visiting, you can work or study there too with power available.

Pros: Great selection, Friendly staff , Good location

Lovely little place

It was our very first visit. I dragged my non-vegan friends to this place and I believe they enjoyed it as much as I did. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. The food and coffee were delicious. Thank you! We need to support vegan establishments as much as we can. They are playing an important role in the fight against climate breakdown and animal cruelty 🙏🏻 #Veganuary

Pros: Almond croissant, Very friendly staff

So cosy!

Came here because I had heard they do a scone and was in desperate need of one! (Haven't had a vegan one ever I think!?)
The cafe is completely vegan, vibe were cute and they had a good selection of different foods. I arrived when the scones were just out of the oven and they were delicious! The butter melted into the scone which was yummy. However they were a little stingey on the blueberry coulis, maybe has a teaspoon?? And I wish they had the option to serve with vegan cream!

Wanted to stay for a bit longer than I did but there is no toilet that I could see which is a major issue for me :(
Would love to go back in the future to try more of their menu!

Hi Molly! Thanks for your feedback. We do have a toilet so don’t worry about that, it’s next door you just need to ask the staff to unlock it for you, there is a sign but possibly you missed it if you were looking for a door! We’ve also changed the coulis too! Look forward to seeing you back soon 😊
