A few yummy vegan options! - Edit
We got a takeaway from here on our final night in San Francisco. The fries were really good and crispy (if you like them that way!), and I had some cheesy vegan garlic bread which was yummy. My partner had a plain cheese pizza (vegetarian, not vegan) which he approved of! I’d recommend giving this place a go if you’re looking for some vegan Italian food in San Francisco.

Underrated - Edit
Best vegan pizza I've had, owing majorly to the fact that they use Butcher's Son cheese. Pretty addicting fries, too. Have had this many times, not sure why the ratings are so low.

Good protein options for pizza in SF! - Edit
This place is a pretty average pizza joint with the bonus of offering several different vegan protein options and a local made vegan mozzarella. A zillion other places in town just have veggies and daiya as the cheeze option and no protein. At Bizza you can get vegan chicken, meat balls or pepperoni as well as the usual selection of veggies. And they offer a vegan calzone here too, which you can't find anywhere else in the city. Pro-tip: I found that the veg pepperoni was too salty with the mozzarella so I usually get the chicken and meat balls, + whatever toppings and extra sauce. Also, for your dessert needs Bizza is across the street from a vegan burger place (VeganBurg) that has desserts so you can shuffle across the street and pick up some vegan chocolate cake or cheezecake while you wait for your Bizza.

Ton of vegan options (and growing!) - Edit
So happy to have Bizza and their growing vegan options available in the Haight!
Read moreWhen my partner and I first discovered Bizza, we were living in lower Haight and got delivery. At the time, they had a couple of sandwich options (using high quality vegan ingredients, like vegan mozzarella from Butcher's Son) and pizzas. The sandwiches were good and we were satisfied.
However, after moving to Haight Ashbury proper, we started ordering from Bizza more and it seems like they keep adding vegan options to their menu. Since being closer, we've had their calzone (excellent) and chicken tenders (albeit, just gardein but the ranch was quite good.) I also see that have vegan mozzarella sticks on their menu and I'm definitely trying those next time!
And not only do they have plenty of vegan options but they're open pretty late most days of the week. Pre-pandemic their hours were well past midnight (possibly 3am if I remember correctly) and they seem like they're still open far later than most restaurants currently.
Really hope they keep expanding their vegan menu (maybe even go the CyBelle's route and have a completely dedicated vegan menu), but either way, we will be back again and again.
Pros: Many vegan options
Cons: A little pricey (but normal for SF)

Only so-so - Edit
Sadly, because this restaurant is quite close to us, the food has been only so-so. Pizza toppings are small and stingy. The vegan cheese is good. They also offer a vegan meatball sandwich, which we ordered and was ok but again, a lot of bread and not a lot of meatball (they're small) or sauce. I even ordered extra sauce because, of course, I love a messy meatball sandwich - but no extra sauce or even a normal amount of sauce could be found! The fries were very good.
Read moreAlso, why it is so hard to find vegan pesto (which theirs is not) I will never know!
Overall, the 3 stars are for their more-than-minimal effort in having several vegan choices on their menu, for using Butcher's Son mozzarella and for their pretty good flavors.
Pros: Several vegan options, Good vegan cheese and flavors, Right on Haight St
Cons: Toppings and fillings are not plentiful enough. , Tiny pieces of vegetables on the pizza

Disappointed - Edit
I got the vegan calzone delivered with vegan pepperoni. They charged me for the pepperoni but didn’t put it on my calzone. It still wasn’t great either way.

Try the vegan calzone - Edit
This is a Mediterranean pizza shop with a significant variety of vegan cheese and vegan meat options. The vegan calzone—made fresh to order—was a sizable portion stuffed with onions, spinach, black olives, pineapple, and vegan mozzarella. The marinara dipping sauce was solid!
Read moreVenue is modest—this is a “grab a slice” spot for the most part. I don’t believe any of the pizza by the slice is vegan, but made-to-order pizza can be (as well as items like the vegan cheese steak).
Pros: Good variety of options
Cons: The calzone was nearly $15... but large and tasty

Just okay - Edit
Ordered the vegan meatball sub and they forgot to add marinara sauce! I appreciate that they have a vegan calzone, sub and pizza but my sub was $13.95 and I’m pretty sure the meatballs were just frozen patties cut into pieces. It’ll work if your family makes you go, but otherwise pick a different place.

No vegan pizzas available - Edit
They have vegan cheese but the dough itself is not vegan (I asked them directly) so a vegan pizza is not doable.

I can't remember who but it was definitely at Bizza on Haight. I just went in and saw that vegan cheese and toppings were available. I asked for the dough and they ask someone else and told me it's not vegan so I left. Glad to know it is. I'll come by soon and try one. I live really close by and was very disappointed to hear that the dough wasn't vegan. Thx for the clarification
