Went here twice. I loved the atmosphere there and the staff, I had nice conversations.
The moon drinks are good but I don't think I'd get them again. Don't skip the extra shot of espresso. The red velvet was a little too boring, I preferred the cinnamon.
It was my first time having scones, with such authentic clotted cream. Amazing experience.
The cakes were DELICIOUS, though so small for the price! The hummingbird doesn't contain chocolate or cocoa at all, it's very fruity with the dried fruits and cane sugar. Perfect frosting. The other one was even better - taste of chocolate cake but texture of a brownie. Ganache was delicious.

Middenin Dordrecht vind je bluebirds in the backyard. Wij namen Vegan springrolls en matcha latte met rozenblaadjes erop. Heerlijk ! Tip: proef ook even de red velvet latte. Heel speciaal. De bediening is aardig en de inrichting is gezellig. Tegenover het restaurant is ook nog een hele leuke winkel te vinden met faitrade en handgemaakte spullen.

Yhere were 6 of us. We all took something different.

Mine the rainbow salad. Really cheap salad. No ghought in it. I thought why no poke bowl idea but seasonal (ish) salad. Bad miss. Lack of rainbow or pot of gold.
Flatbeead hummus: This was well liked
Kroketten op brood: Again okay. Went down well with Opa.
Tosti kaas: ticked the box for the young one.
Spicy hummus and avocado: went down well. But nothing to write home about.
We also had :
Frites : good
sweet potato fries: better than most.
Desserts:
Variety of cake. All very good.
As mentioned elsewhere the menu is not cheap, what you get is average. I just wish some extra time went into the combos. No beetroot in salad. Or brocoli. These are in season in march. Basic restaurant running thinking. All we ate for lunch apart from cake suffered from this.
The drinks. Come on. Think out the box. No golden milk. Off the shelf store bought chai. I have been so much better places.
I can buy really good vegan bitterballen from cafe de tijd down the road. As you say in Dutch, the food is a bit zonder voor de tijd.
For coffee and cake the place is superb.
Service: a little better than normal Dutch service. Only two items we ordered did not come.
Pros: Cakes., Vriendelijke mens
Cons: I hope that they improve the offering., Drinks. You buy what they served anywhere. , Drinks need improving

Read moreThe ‘shop’ (second hand / vintage) is far from what could be made of it. Card payment in shop is not posible. Staff eats non-vegan food in sight of guests. Many, too many, fake plants. Prices are high. 15 Euro for two sandwiches with ‘salmon’ or two croquets.

Great atmosphere and interior design in this monumental building. Staff was really helpful and friendly. All vegan so thats great! I do think its on the high side in terms of price for what it is: 15,50 for a sandwich. 50 euro for two people (three coffees, two sandwiches and one dessert). I think this can hopefully be lowered a bit in the future. Maybe keep the food cost down by buying less ready made products (e.g. vegan salmon) but make alternatives in house? On the photos the smashed avocado with vegan feta and sun dried tomato, and the vegan salmon sandwich.

We had a shared ‘dining’ for lunch with a large group. The vegan salmon was really good, we had different sandwiches and flatbread with great dips. The building is absolutely beautiful, it’s a light and cosy place to be. Friendly staff and all vegan 💚

Read moreSurprised to arrive there and find the shop open, but the restaurant closed. I had checked IG and FB beforehand, but had not seen any notice posted. Aaargh.😔
So that was a real bummer.
I asked the staff if they could hence recommend any other lunch places for vegans, but they couldn't. 🤔
Later I checked the website and indeed there it was announced that the resto would be closed that particular Thursday.

So sorry for you, in dordrecht there is a other very good vegan restaurant Rebel Rebel. I don’t understand why they dit not recommend it to you. This restaurant was the first vegan restaurant in dordrecht. :-(

Wij hebben hier lekker gegeten. De menukaart is bijna helemaal vegan. Het terras is echt heerlijk zitten. Het is een mooie binnentuin en zo lekker rustig. Ook binnen in het restaurant ziet het er mooi uit.

What a place. So special. A huge shop with dishes, jewelry, clothes and many more and a big cozy cafe. A bit Mary Poppins feeling. We had great breakfast and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. They have vegan tea time. And delicious cakes.

The restaurant is located behind the shop in a cute little garden. Most of the menu items are vegan or can be veganised, with a lot of fake cheese. We ordered two types of tartines, one with fake feta cheese, the other with fake halloumi, both very good and not too heavy. We also treated ourselves with kroketten which is a typical dish in the Netherlands (fried balls of oyster mushroom puree). Definitely recommend if you are around Rotterdam and visiting Dordrecht!

Ik ben al meerdere keren wezen eten bij Bluebirds en is inmiddels mijn favoriete plek in de omgeving. De locatie is prachtig, het terras is geweldig om te zitten, rustig een mooi. En de kaart is fantastisch! Veel keus, goeie combinaties. Kortom; the place to be!

The location is amazing: a beautiful building on multiple levels with a small cafè, the restaurant and an area with a shop that sells extremely cute items.
Read moreUnfortunately, the menu is extremely simple and a bit sad, nothing very original, a lot of toasties and hummus on bread, spring rolls and a salad. We got the toast with hummus and avocado and it was soo sad, two slices of low-quality bread with 1millimiter of hummus and 5 super thin slices of avocado. The spring rolls were nice, and also the krokett on bread were decent. Overall, not very inspiring and not a lot of 'love' in the presentation.
The staff is super gentle but two of the waitresses were just eating in front of everyone and using their fingers to clean their teeth. It is not something you do in front of your customers.
Overall, giant potential but so far, not expressed at all.

The idea of the concept is great but the execution is poor. Food & drinks are overpriced. 3,50 euro’s for a glass of hot water with a tiny slice of ginger and lemon!!! Very strange that the big glass of latte macchiato has the same price....
Read moreA very tiny salad for 11,50, we asked vegan but still goat cheese in the salad. The dish with libanese flatbread and two dips was not very tasty. Staff is very slow and not educated about the menu or food allergies. They had to ask and double check everything. It was not very busy but everything took ages, there was no structure at all. We gave feedback to the staff about the low value for money feeling. They said they had many complaints about it and would raise it again with the owners. No compensation or offering a drink. They won’t see us again.
It has a lot of potential but they won’t make it if they don’t improve the above feedback. A shame.
Pros: Great building, Live music in the weekends, Cute (thrift) shop
Cons: Overpriced, Very slow service, No knowledge of the menu and allergies
