Few options, curries can't be made vegan - Edit
All curry had shrimp paste, few vegan options, long wait times. Portions are small and expensive

Good options, too expensive for the portion sizes - Edit
The eggplant bao was delicious and the vegan dim sum plate was just okay. For $15, I would expect to be a lot more full after. Definitely on the expensive side and an entree is probably a more economical choice than multiple sides.

Highly recommend. - Edit
There are plenty of vegan options for starters, mains and desserts. I ended up coming back here 3 times over the course of the week as it was so good. Pad Thai, dim sum, spring rolls, kimchi and bao bun were excellent. For me, the one time I had it, the vegan pho was lacking a bit of flavour and the vegan dessert (can’t remember what it was called) wasn’t amazing but was interesting in taste and texture. Highly recommend!

Many vegan options - Edit
Many options on the menu from pho to noodles to dim sum to a vegan bun. The waiters were great and gave us a great cocktail bar recommendation after as well.

Good taste, some options - Edit
You can choose most of the options with heura, which is a mediterranean plant based meat. The bao bun had that and mushrooms in it and was really good. The restaurant itself was recommended by a local.

Boa-Bao - Edit
Had diner at this restaurant on Sunday evening. Restaurant was fully booked.
Read moreSome orders did not come through well in the kitchen. Dishes were brought that were said to be vegan but that turned out not to be the case, after asking twice. It was a bit messy. However the food tasted very nice and the staff had offered their excuses at the end of our diner which was appreciated.
Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options , Tasty food , Nice ambiance

Meals are overpriced and don’t taste like much. Quite disappointing. After a starter, main course with extra rice and desert, I am still hungry and I am a small girl…

Great bao buns - Edit
Their vegan mushroom bao bun is really tasty, and the bun was perfect in texture. However, I noticed that a lot of their vegan/veggie options seem to be using the same flavour profile so the meal felt very one dimensional. It was also a shame that they only had a single vegan bao bun option

Would give 5⭐️ - Edit
I visited Boa Boa on the last day of my holiday in 2019. It was the last place I went to in Lisbon and it was the only place I went to that wasn’t 100% vegan, but I would say it was probably the nicest food I had during the whole trip. They had an extensive vegan menu alongside their non vegan menu and I was really happy with the food I got.

Love the food - Edit
They have quite a lot options for vegan/vegetarian. I loved the bao bun. The dim-sums were not that amazing and some had a weird taste. Staff is very bussy, and therefore not very kind.

Not trying very hard & way overpriced - Edit
Lunch for two was €57! Definitely not worth it.
Read moreFood isn’t terrible but not much love and care put into the flavours or the service. The dumplings were good (though you’ll find better elsewhere) - and the eggplant bao was tasty. Everything else we had was bland.

Wish I could give 5 stars - Edit
I had vegan bao bun and vegan pad thai and they were both incredible. Super tasty, light and so enjoyable. I was with a non vegan friend and we both thought it was one of the best meals we had in Lisbon. It was really busy and we had to wait a while for a table but it was totally worth it.

Quick and tasty - Edit
Second time I’ve been here and the food was delightful and the service very quick. Sadly not enough vegan options but staff are very knowledgable. That being said, the dishes they do have are great, the pad Thai is especially a favourite.

Decent food if you're in the area and want Asian food - Edit
On a busy Friday night, we walked around Lisbon – struggling to find somewhere to eat which had a decent vegan menu. We found Boa-Bao and as my boyfriend and I love Asian food back in London, and as the menu labelled a few dishes as ‘vegan’ we decided to go.
Read moreThe portion sizes are rather small – we ordered the egg-plant bao bun and only one was served. It was tasty but wasn’t amazing.
We then ordered the vegetarian dim sum selection which again was fine, some were tastier than others but only around 6 dumplings were served. The food lacked salt and spice to make it memorable.
The spring rolls arrived warm on the outside but cold on the inside. We didn’t complain as it looked rather busy but these were still tasty and came with a nice sweet chilli sauce.
We then lastly ordered their friend rice with tofu making it vegan. This was tasty and a good portion – the tofu was plain however.
Overall – an okay place to go for a meal if you are craving Asian food as it is less than common in Lisbon (we found) but not incredible food.
Good service however, friendly staff and nice atmosphere and tasty mocktails
Pros: Nice atmosphere, Vegan options labelled, Good drinks
Cons: Portion sizes, Quite costly

For the second time they put egg in our Pad Thai - Edit
They definitely do not put any attention for vegan food!
Read moreFor the second time that we ordered there, they put egg in our dishes! Moreover, it is very easy to make vegan curries but they don’t care enough from their vegan clients to make an option for vegan curry (very weird because I eat vegan curry in every Thai restaurant I go). They also very expensive considering to their food. I don’t recommend them.
Cons: The put egg in the dish for the second time! , They don’t have vegan curry even though it’s easy, The very expensive consider to other restaurants

Yummy and fresh - Edit
I ordered a few items for delivery and they were exactly what I was craving. It can be tricky to get vegan dim sum so having that option at Boa-Boa was lovely. We also really liked the gua bao. It's definitely a spot I'll be checking out again.

Delicious vegan Pad Thai - Edit
I had the vegan Pad Thai and it was so good (however, it was my first time having pad thai). I especially enjoyed the noodles which felt freshly made. I also had the eggplant gua bao as a started and totally recommend it - slightly spicy and super delicious.
Read moreThere are not a lot of vegan options, I think just three different main dish options, but there are a bit more for vegetarians.
The vegan chocolate dim sum for dessert was fantastic and definitely a must try!
The restaurant is quite busy but looks very cool and trendy, and the music was groooovy. Our waiter was extremely friendly and gave us a lot of very honest suggestions, which was much appreciated.
Pros: Everything was delicious, Friendly staff and cool atmosphere
Cons: Not so many vegan options
