Delish meal, friendly place

I enjoyed a great dinner here this evening with a local vegan meetup group. The current menu featured two vegan dinner plates and two vegan starters, all clearly marked. I chose the curried vegetable plate served with Yukon gold potatoes, curried chickpeas and pumpkin choka. The dish was delicious, attractively presented, and filling. It was served with a plate of buss-up-shut flatbread, which I couldn't come close to finishing! The overall restaurant vibe and the staff were super friendly.

Pros: Delicious food, Vegan items clearly marked, Friendly vibe

Cons: Limited vegan options

Good

Portions were bigger than I expected. Not many vegan options but they are clearly marked. The curried veggies come with potatoes and a flatbread style pastry bread. Very filling. Not really my taste but it was good

Pros: Big portions, pleasant staff

Cons: Difficult parking

A standout in a town ripe with great vegan options

What an exceptional meal! The flavors of Trinidadian Cuisine are unlike any other. I thought the food might be similar to Jamaican, thinking of jerk sauces. It was more of an Indian flair, with with an emphasis on chickpeas, rice and lentils. The sauces are superb. I couldn't resist the pepper sauce, though the flavors were so bold and delicious without the addition of the signature hot sauce. Items were clearly marked vegan (and many gluten free). Anyone who appreciates a delicious meal, clearly made with fresh ingredients and passion, will appreciate Callaloo.

Pros: many vegan options, unique and delicious flavors great value byob

Cons: none

Deserves 5 Stars!

This place blew me away! Everything was great - the environment, the people, and the food. The menu isn't huge, but at least 1/4 to 1/3 of it is vegan. My plate didn't look very large but I was only able to eat half of it. This will become a regular spot for me!

Pros: Relaxing environment, extremely friendly and vegan

Cons: A little pricey
