Delicious food, great atmosphere and service - Edit
Many vegan choices - stopped in for something light - empanadas and a rice and quinoa salad. The dishes were as tasty as they were beautiful! Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to sample other dishes before I leave Havana.

Lots of pasta and big portions - Edit
We had high hopes for this place, but Cuba never really gave us great food experiences 😅 The menu was a bit tricky to read as it was handwritten on a board (Spanish only). We tried the empanadas, which were good but tiny. They came with 3 tiny sauces as well. Then we had two different pastas. The portions were enormous but the pesto didn't taste of much and lacked salt while the tomato bean sauce was overly salty, so we couldn't finish it.
Read moreWe had the chocolate mousse for dessert after we had been assured it was vegan. It was tasty enough.
Pros: Nice restaurant with aircon, Big portions of pasta, Vegan chocolate mousse
Cons: Staff spoke no English, Food either lacked salt or was super salty

So much choice! - Edit
After 10 days of travelling other parts of Cuba and mainly feeding on rice, beans and banana chips , we were so happy to find this restaurant in Havana with loads of choice (we had empanadas, spinach canelloni, "meat balls" and a chickpea curry) and even vegan desserts. Friendly service and reasonable prices, too. A pity it's closed in the evenings and on the weekend, otherwise we would have come every day I think!

Variedad y buen ambiente - Edit

I got the red bean burger patty, the media lunas with coconut bechamel sauce, chocolate cake and pineapple juice. It's in the vein of healthy food, more than being veg for the sake of veg. The place is pleasant, I'd definitely stay to eat next time.

Tasty and lots of variety - Edit
This is probably among the best variety of vegetarian/vegan options you’ll get in Cuba! Everything was pretty tasty but in particular the daily special they had the day I went, some kind of black bean dish with sautéed veggies, was excellent.

LOCAL people recommended - Edit
Although the waiters of "Camino al sol" don't understand English well, they put all the food in a transparent cabinet. You can order food without saying a word in Spanish! (I will recommend to label food that contain egg & milk)
Read moreHere, I want to introduce you a plant that is only found in Latin America - Malanga, which looks like taro, but tastes completely taro-free. And the taste of malanga in each restaurant is different, like this one has a meaty smell (pic 2), I recommend you to try it!
In addition, pasta is highly recommended. There is a wide variety of pasta. My freegan travel-mate likes it very much, and you can also buy pasta directly, go home and cook for yourself.

Nice little veg restaurant - Edit
It’s a bit quiet and more like a cafe off the tourist circuit. I think their specialities are the homemade pasta which was by far the best of their food.

Quirky food spot - Edit
The only vegan option was rice and some cabbage. The rice was way too salty but not bad. They are only open in the evenings starting around 6 I think. Also, it is in an apartment building. Go up the stair and it’s the first door!!

Good lunch spot - Edit
To find the restaurant felt like walking into an apartment building at first, it's located well on the map but isn't obviously signposted walking down the street. Once you go in you'll see it's surprisingly modern interior. The process was to grab a table, pop down bags etc, then went to the counter to order, asked what was vegan, we ordered pretty much one of everything vegan, which ended up being one dish too many, the chickpea soup portion was much bigger than we thought it would be! We also had a couple juices which were nice but slightly too thick to drink out of the glass with no straw provided (ideally we wouldn't want straws but the juice was mostly stuck to side of the glass so had to scrape it out with a fork). After you've finished eating, pay at the counter :)

Peaceful place with lots of vegan options - Edit
The atmosphere is very quiet and calming. You choose your food from a display cabinet up front and a chalkboard menu. Most of the food is vegan. We visited twice in the same week. Many of the foods are attractively displayed like a cake slice - where the base is a grain or starchy veg and it is topped with a sauce and chopped veggies. They also had soups - the garbanzo soup was good (and large, even when split between two people), the pureed broccoli was rather bland. Didn't try pastas and desserts. There were many juices, do try the tamarind, which sounded a bit odd but was really delicious, I had to order a second one.

Calm setting and beautiful food - Edit
The restaurant is on the ground floor of an apartment building, very near the Melia Cohiba hotel. All the food offerings are on display in the glass case. You select your food and then go sit at a table. The service is very nice. We over-ordered because we wanted to try so many things. The carrot soup was very plain- no salt or seasonings. The other dishes were very tasty. A good place to experiment with unusual dishes. The preparation of the dishes is very artistic and makes up for the limited availability of vegetable varieties.
Read morePros: Beautiful presentation, Dishes are nutritious, Great variety of fresh pasta
Cons: Could benefit from more seasoning, It's Cuba, so variety is limited, Pasta was overcooked to our taste

Tasty and fresh food with an overall Mediterranean feel both decor and food wise. Feels clean and healthy. Lots of vegan options, worth checking what is and isn’t when ordering as it’s not obvious.

A nice little restaurant next to the Melia Cohiba Hotel. The sign outside is small, so its easy to overlook this place. The food was delicious, and the fresh made juice was tasty and also very healthy. I‘m coming back soon!

A nice little restaurant - Edit
A nice little restaurant with a lot of exquisite vegan options, which is a rarity in Havana. We also bought their homemade pasta with natural flavoring to cook at home. The food is really good! But be specific when asking about ingredients: when I asked the lady who took our order if a cake contained eggs or milk she replied no so I ordered it, but then just to be sure I asked about butter and then she said yes. In any case almost everything is vegan: the day we went all dishes were vegan except from desserts and pesto sauce.

A vegetarian gem in Havana - Edit
We went back to Camino al Sol several times during our stay in Havana. They have creating, beautifully presented vegetarian dishes, and most of them are vegan. Some of the dishes are bland, as is true with most restaurant food we had in Havana.
Read moreThe fresh juices are fabulous. I didn't find pineapple ginger juice anywhere else in Havana.
Camino al Sol has a wonderful selection of handmade pastas in flavors such as basil, curry, and ginger. We bought a kilo for 4 CUC--a great value for Havana if you have a kitchen available.
The location is nothing special, but they've done a nice job making the restaurant inviting.
