Booked table in advance

And they contact us which menu to prepare. I chose vegan course (49k won) for me so they prepared in advance, dont know if advance vegan notice is neccessary.

The food was superb, traditional Korean food made vegan, no animals ingres or questioning sauce. Service was great too, we had a private room for meeting our customers.

Great Korean meal

Really enjoyed this Korean meal as the majority of the other things I ate when I visited would be considered more Western. There was a vegan menu that we ordered in advance and many of the courses were identical to what our meat eating friends had. There were some very unique kimchis that were super tasty

Horrible experience

Confirmed reservation in advance for birthday dinner via email, showed up at the reserved date and time and it was closed. If they had only notified us, we could have made alternate arrangements. Very poor customer service.

Exquisite set menu

Save room before you go. There is a significant amount of food that comes, and it is all fantastic and would be a shame to waste. Definitely a memorable meal out, and worth the price.

You have to order vegan course menus in advance!

I was surprised to hear that they didn't have vegan soup om the day I visited here. You have to tell them to prepare vegan menus when making a reservation. Also, one of their vegan courses have honey. Be ware!
Other than that, the vegan course menus are fairly traditional and have natural taste.

Pros: vegan course menus!, not that expensive

Cons: not that vegan friendly

Good

The food here is good. Some very interesting and unique dishes. A great take on temple food. A bit pricey. One dish had a shrimp hiding in the middle of it. The waitress warned us, which was good, but I guess there's confusion as to what "vegetarian" means (let alone "vegan"), since we clearly ordered a vegetarian set meal and informed the waitress that we were vegan.

Pros: tasty food

Cons: hidden meat

Fine dining

Visit this restaurant march 2013. This place serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. They have english speaking staff and was showed to me 2 set of 15-vegetarian course menu for their dinner. Price about 40000-50000won. You will be served from salads, mushrooms, veg, rice, kimchi, porridge and desert. I would give a 5 out of 10 for their food. Its an experience on fine dining in Korea. But if you want to have nice food definitely not this restaurant.

Elegant Fine Dining

We visited the restaurant for dinner while in Seoul in Aug 2010. It is an easy 10 minute walk from the COEX Samseong (world trade center) subway stop. Go out exit 3 and walk straight (away from the COEX) for about 7 minutes 150 meters, across the hill top side crossroad - turn right into a small street/alley just past the Mercedes Benz building, and it is almost immediately on your left (downstairs). It is a fancy place with delicious food and excellent service (I think best to make a reservation if you can). They did appear to have some menus with fish (not sure), but they had at least 3 fixed course menus that were all vegan (they speak some english, but we also used our "vegan passport" to let them know we were looking for all vegan food). We choose one of the mid-priced menus - you would certainly pay more for a meal like this in the US - courses just keep coming in waves, and just when you think it might be over, another whole set of dishes is delivered - and we tried a specifically Korean fermented beverage (sort of like beer) call "Makgeolli" and it was very good. As with so many of the Korean veggie-oriented (since probably not technically all veggie) restaurants we visited, the proprietor was very proud of the food and the place, and wanted to let us know about the dishes, etc. Overall, definitely worth going out of your way to visit this place; best meal we had in Korea.

Pros: Delicious, Variety of dishes, Service
