Lovely restaurant - Edit
Food was good. The service was excellent - so very kind and attentive. Also they had no problem doing separate checks for our group of 10 people.

Everything was delicious - Edit
Everything here was delicious. Amazing wings. Yummy Thai tea. Udon to die for. My non-veg bf loved the chicken nugget dish he got. And they even had a cheesecake dessert! Most of the menu is vegan, but the couple non-vegan items are clearly marked.

yay for takeout - Edit
my new go-to for general tso's tofu—it travels sooo well! i love that the rice comes in a separate container, the tofu isn't too cornstarchy, and the sauce doesn't congeal like in a lot of takeout. plus it comes with broccoli and a salad, heck yeah, it's the little things 🔥

Great lunch special - Edit
I stopped by for the first time to try out their lunch special. I got the Sweet & Sour Sesame Soy Protein lunch special which came with miso soup, a spring roll, and brown rice.

Update: food is not bad! - Edit
Update: Upon first arrival at the restaurant, I was turned off at the lack of lights, aircon, amd presence in the restaurant. However I have since ordered some take out to give it a chance. The food was decent, however it's the desserts that stood out! The vegan cheese cake was great (but very sweet) and the avacado shake was so good! Would definitely recommend any of the desserts or drinks to try.
Read moreOld review: All the chairs and tables were pushed up to the sides and there was no air-conditioning and no one inside the store. We didn't end up eating there as it was incredibly humid inside. All lights also seemed to be off. There were signed outside saying "we are open!" But it really didn't look it

Good Vegan Asian Food - Edit
Was passing by so stopped for take out at Dao Palate. Had the Crispy Vegetable Tofu-Skin Wraps starter and Smoked Teriyaki Seitan entrée, which came with a miso soup and rice on the side. All food was very good! Take out order was ready when I arrived. Would definitely return if ever in the area again!

I order from this place all the time. I really love the spinach wonton soup, Thai basil fried rice, and the red curry. The pad see ew is also wonderful.

Great food! Conveniently located - Edit
Got the watercress & cheese wontons (w/mango sauce) and the red curry seitan (extra spicy) and they made it exactly how I asked 👌🏽 flavorful, filing and quick! Located right next to the 7th Avenue Q train stop. I noticed this place as I was on my way home and decided to pop in. Great decision!

Yummy Asian food - Edit
I love that the menu is all vegan. They have Asian options, mostly Chinese and Thai. The ambiance is very cozy and the service friendly.
Read moreI had the mango "chicken" and it was delicious, nice flavors and a good texture from the fake chicken (I think it was seitan).
You can't beat their lunch menu, so if you're in the area on a weekday for lunch, definitely give it a try, but I've also come here for dinner.

Fine for a quick bite, but not a “dining” experience - Edit
Firstly, this place is 99% vegan (with only some dairy for coffee and ice cream for dessert). I had the pumpkin soup, spinach shumai, and summer rolls (without the fake ham). The soup was very tasty; however, between the large chunks of pumpkin and stalks of cilantro, it was not comfortable to actually eat. The shumai were served hot and fresh; however, the filling was too oily. The summer rolls were nice, but skimpy. And that’s the good news. The not so good news regards the dining experience, which I can only describe as classic Chinatown (indifference decor, dull vibe). That said, the people were very friendly and helpful with menu selections and customization.

Food is beyond phenomenal. Service is friendly and helpful albeit a tad slow. We took our omni friend and who said about their general tso’s soy protein (direct quote): “this tastes better than chicken!”

Good choice for Area - Edit
This was pretty good. The yam and pumpkin tempura was really not so good, but the lettuce wraps were decent. The place is primarily vegan and listed as such.

Delicious! - Edit
I’ve been to lots of veg pan-Asian restaurants and this is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been to. We ordered the cilantro tofu and the Singapore noodles and both were excellent. Also loved the soy beans in the rice. Highly recommend!

good food, slow service - Edit
The menu offers a huge variety of Asian cuisine from Indian to Chinese and Malaysian. That being said the food tasted great, but the service was very slow. It took a long time for a server to get to our table and take our order, and it felt very rushed and very slow at the same time.

Great food and service - Edit
This is really a vegan restaurant. No egg or dairy goes into any of the dishes. Apparently they keep a container of cow's milk around for those who demand it in coffee.
Read moreI've never had a bad meal here, and the luncheon special is a bargain, with lot of choices.
They're never crowded, and the room is beautifully decorated.
Delivery is always quick, with the juices wedged into the bag so they don't spill.
Just one customer service anecdote: a couple of Christmases back, I was looking for a meal, called them, but the phone didn't answer. So I moved on, but then my phone rang--using caller ID, they'd seen my number and returned the call.

Seriously, check this place out! - Edit
I have been to Dao Palate several times and have always left very impressed with the food and the ambiance. The food is very reasonably priced (roughly $10-$14 per entree) for the quality of the dishes and the quantity given. The menu is quite large and features a range of Asian cuisines. I would recommend trying the Jade Mushrooms and Orange Seitan.
