Just okay - Edit
Was excited to try out this place after all of the good reviews, but we had a mid experience. Not sure if it was an off day, so we'll aim to try it again sometime. We had the drunken noodles (just okay), bahn mi (pretty good, but bread was very soft), and mango sticky rice (really good). Overall, nothing to write home about, but thankful for the clearly labeled options.

They have clearly marked vegan dishes that are delicious - Edit
Vegan banh mi and other dishes. The ratatouille is really just a coconut curry with eggplant. Delicious.

Great - Edit
The bahn mi and drunken noodles were both excellent! The fry portion was really small for the price but yummy too, especially after they brought the vegan mayo/Sriracha

Unique Eats - Edit
This is not your standard Vietnamese fare: blistered shishito peppers, kaffir lime peanuts, crispy tofu, watercress salad. The flavors are fresh and creative. Vegan items are clearly labeled. Doi Moi is the perfect spot for cocktails and small plates.

Noticed their happy hour apps had some yummy vegan choices so we sat for some snacks and a few drinks. Very impressed overall- and their brussel sprouts were the best I’ve EVER HAD.

Amazing food - Edit
I got the crispy tofu appetizer and the ratatouille for my main dish and both were so delicious that I didn’t want to stop eating even after I was full. The flavors were impeccable, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun. Overall a wonderful experience.

Great choices - Edit
I really enjoyed the flavor of the dishes here. They have a vegan Drunken Noodle dish that is really good. They don't have a ton of vegan options, but the options that I tried were good. The server was knowledge about what we could have and the menu was clearly labeled as well

Delicious ! - Edit
We had the vegan ratatouille and vegan drunken noodles. They were both absolutely delicious! We asked to add tofu to the drunken noodles, but they forgot and it didn't even matter much because it was fulfilling and scrumptious without it! The wait staff are super friendly and attentive - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great meal! - Edit
Great blend of favors, delicious food and drink and very accommodating for vegans. Had Brussels sprouts, drunken noodles and mango sticky rice...all were made to accommodate me being vegan. Service was fast and friendly. As we say in my family, “this is a do over!”

We had chinese broccoli, kee mao and ratatouille. All where prepared vegan and were very flavorful. There were other vegan options, including an oat-milk based soft serve that looked great.

The dessert alone merits 5 Stars - Edit
I had at Doi Moi one of the most amazing and unforgettable vegan meals of my life. To begin with, the place is gorgeous. It's so bright and open that you feel like you're part of the vibrant city life taking place outside all whole sitting in the inviting and chic ambiance of Doi Moi.
Read moreOn to the food. The chef is truly a master or flavor and spicing. I began my meal with the steamed buns, which come filled with homemade chick-pea tofu and some sort of sauce. The texture and flavors were fantastic, and I'd never seen tofu made from chickpeas before. Next I had the jackfruit and purple sweet potato massaman curry. This featured meaty chunks of jackfruit and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside cubes of purple sweet potato bathed in a luscious creamy peanut-based curry sauce. The dish came with a bowl of coconut lemongrass jasmine rice. The flavor profile achieved in this dish was truly delectable. The curry sauce was sublime and worked so well with the jackfruit and the delicious rice.
Now, dessert. Oh me, I'm still not over that dessert. I had the Kaho Need Mamuang--a sweet sticky rice cake bathed with an amazing creamy, coconut sauce and wrapped in tangy mango. This is a ridiculously simple description of what was one of the most mind blowing desserts I've ever had--vegan or otherwise. I do not even have the right words to describe just how delicious and truly spectacular this dish was. From the stunning presentation--it's bright blue due to a flower they use to make it--to the burst of different flavors that create a symphony in your palate that only leaves you wanting more. I would return to Doi Mou for this dessert alone. Wow, just wow. I also tried their toasted coconut strawberry Thai chilli soft serve and it was also delicious. The best vegan soft serve I've had. I did not think it possible soft serve ice cream could have so much flavor. The strawberry part was sweet with this spicy burn that actually had me reaching for my water. The coconut, however, was creamy with this subtle creamy flavor I could not recognize, but greatly enjoyed nonetheless. The combination of spicy with creamy was divine.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. The decor is beautiful. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. The food is amazing. One of the best culinary experiences of my life. I cannot wait to return.

Vegan Deliciousness - Edit
There are not many unique Asian restaurants in DC that make vegan dishes exciting- this is one of them. It’s so tasty and excitingly modern with an open kitchen and informed helpful staff. So, right there is why to go.
Read moreAs a veg*n, the menu offers so many choices. It’s veg and gluten free dedicated on the back! So many choices! Most of the veg dishes can be vegan. The jackfruit curry and ratatouille are delicious, but I preferred the complex flavors in the ratatouille more than the jackfruit curry. The kee Mao noodles were also fantastic with simple basil and broccoli to complement the fresh rice noodles. The papaya salad is classic spicy ness and freshness- never disappointed.
For dessert, anything with sticky rice is a winner. Banana leaf wrapped sticky rice with red banana or the mango sticky rice upgraded to blissful ness. Of course, if you’re an ice cream fan, the gluten free vegan coconut based soft serve will blow your tastebuds away.
So, if you like Asian style food with a twist of modern presentation and infusions, you’ll be very happy here. The only down side is the price.
Pros: Vegan friendly galore , Dessert, Rice noodles
Cons: Fishy smell- eat outside, Pricey
