Punkrock canteen with incredibly creamy desserts - Edit
Alternative, completely vegan restaurant with punk rock music but no stickers or tags in the toilets (too bad). Offers a small but excellent selection of traditional Czech and international dishes. The desserts and cakes were incredibly delicious and had plenty of cream and pudding. The cook here knows what she's doing; the dishes are all perfectly balanced and taste excellent. The atmosphere is that of a canteen and also has something of a (vegan!) butcher shop about it due to the cleanly tiled walls. The staff was very friendly.

Cons: Not a particularly cozy atmosphere for lingering

Great alternative vegan diner in Prague - Edit
It's a 100% vegan diner in Prague, great to have lunch/dinner amd spend some time working or reading. They have a daily menu consisting of a broth and main course, and a permanent selection of food. Also there is plenty of choice of sweets and cakes. The vibe is very alternative (there is a live music venue on the other side of the buiding), with heavy music blasting in the place. It's much more affordable and economically accessible than other 100% vegan restaurant, which I love.

Cons: Some people may not like the heavy music (not me)

One of my favs in Prague! - Edit
On my last visit to Prague I managed to get there twice and ! Omg so bloody good! I always had the daily offer - once fried cheese with potatoes and tartar sauce, the other time smoked tofu, dumplings and spinach. Dangerously delicious deserts. Their Instagram makes me regret I don’t live in Prague anymore!
Read moreEvery time I'm in Prague I must visit at least once. Great seasonal offers, traditional czech cuisine and international, fair prices and very good atmosphere.
Check properly their instagram and other projects from the house - gigs in upstairs venue and also in the basement club!

Great place, good food! - Edit
Stable punk rock shop, not very cosy but very pleasant.
Read moreI had a homemade kombucha and the dumplings. Both were very good, the dumplings were well flavoured and the combination with the cream and cranberries was quite strong.
Love the place!
Pros: Friendly staff, Politically left-wing shop

Best in Prague - Edit
With great sadness I was struck with the realisation that the best place for noshing was revealed to me on my journey's last day. The delicious food, the superb music and the extraordinarily likeable staff make this a true gem.

An easy walk from Andel (busses/trams/Metro) is this amazing place! Not the prettiest part of Prague but once you enter the restaurant you are wowed by the friendly nature of the staff, the amazing food & cakes, and the very reasonable price all in a clean, bright, cheery building. 😁

The kind of place that I like the most, with both great food and strong ideological motivation. I tried poutine and langos and both were simple dishes, but very tasty. Dessert was great too.

Good junk food and desserts - Edit
I've eaten at eaternia a few times and I always enjoy it. I tend to go for the junky fried options and haven't really deviated from that very often. I like that they do something different with their weekend specials and I like to go and try some of those but they don't always hit the mark.
Read moreThe fried cheese is good, it's a good sized portion and the cheese melts nicely. The langoš is great, a well executed piece of fried bread and the topping combination works well. I had chicken and waffles as a weekend special once which was enjoyable, the chicken had a good spicy coating. I also went for a huevos rancheros which was fine, there was decent flavour but I was hoping the egg would be a bit more interesting. They recently had a katsu curry on as a monthly special and I was really disappointed by that. There wasn't much flavour in the curry sauce and the fried tofu had a good crisp coating but it wasn't seasoned at all.
The desserts are huge, I've had a cinnamon snail and a kremes before and they've both tasted good.
