Run by volunteers, the venue offers (many daily vegan) and vegetarian meals. Community oriented, one pays what one can afford or wish to donate. Best is to consult the schedule on their website for hours. Previously known as Depanneur Sylvestre and located at 9 Rur Fortier. Since community meals are almost the only source of revenue, a new price scale is proposed that should allow everyone to participate, within their means ranging from a base price of $4 to $12, or more which would include a donation to the DEP. Open Tue 6:00pm-8:00pm.

A community space where it feels good to be - Edit
I knew the Dépanneur Sylvestre before it changed location. Now, the meals are only on Tuesdays, so it's worth following the information on the Facebook page (see link on the right of the page).
Read moreNot everything is vegan, but you can see that there is a real effort to make sure that vegan people can eat. Check out the menu before you go (only 1 choice of salad, meal and dessert per night).
I invited some friends from Montreal and they loved the space. It is an experience in itself to go there, I recommend this bright place!
The prices are 4$,8$,12$ or more, depending on your budget.
Pros: really cheap, made by volonteer, Bright space, good energy
Cons: not a lot of space inside, a cafeteria vibe, only one choice per night so be sure it is vegan
