Great brunch - Edit
The menu has clearly marked vegan options and there’s many dishes that can be made vegan. Pancakes, vegan bacon, egg, sour cream, and cheese. They also has vegan pastries. Definitely recommend!

Options to choose from, but vegan costs extra - Edit
Cash only! The breakfast burrito was filling and pretty good (though I’d call it big, not huge) but it costs extra to add vegan sour cream and cheese, even though the dairy versions are included in the non-vegan version of the burrito. I enjoyed the side of spiced apples!

Amazing - Edit
Was in the city with an Omni friend and needed a place that had both options. This place did not disappoint!! They had tons of vegan options but I got the taco salad and I have never been so impressed by a salad before 😂 it was also huge along with being delicious!

Amazing! - Edit
What a find! Super friendly service, amazing menu with loads of vegan options. Great coffee, with alternative non dairy milk and free refills for the filter coffee. I had the breakfast plate with a bit of everything, vegan pancakes, vegan bacon and it was all fantastic. In fact the three of us ate every scrap and then couldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day! It was delicious and if you're in the area, definitely take a trip there! It's cash only but there is an atm in the diner.

Great breakfast! - Edit
I judge a place based on their vegan breakfast burritos, and on that scale this place is amazing! I wasn't expecting much, and they over delivered.

Nice spot - Edit
Had a great brunch here with some omni pals! Lots of options are vegan by default or clearly labeled as veganized by request. The breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo was delicious. This was also cheaper than the “grass-fed steak” (🙄) which is a nice change of pace.

Pros: Good options, Nice location, Solid prices

Decent food - Edit
If you are dining in (which might not be possible bc of the pandemic), make sure to let the server know of your veganism to check out what is best on their menu. I love the vegan taco platter! Good hangover food. For a healthier and well-rounded option, go for the flying saucer bowl but made vegan. Its a brown rice, black bean, tofu, and veggie bowl. Even though they aren’t vegan, I like to cheat with their pancakes. The pancakes are SO GOOD!!! I think they can make them vegan though... now I can’t remember lol. The vibe inside is like an old diner. The owners and servers have a tough energy but if you are a regular they warm up to you. It’s a classic neighborhood stop (if you live near it).

earth balance not included - Edit
Went in for their vegan options. I ordered the tofu sweet potato hash . When I got my plate it looked delicious but they brought it with butter. I immediately noticed the regular butter and asked for the vegan butter which I thought should be automatically included since it's a vegan plate. I got the vegan butter but wasn't told it would cost more. I feel the vegan butter should just come with the plate and the cost should be included into the plate. Place was good, service was excellent just need to be on the same page with the vegan diners, since they offer vegan options.

Great Atmosphere, Uneven Food! - Edit
As others have pointed out, this is a hipster haven and although I am not a hipster, I love to come here to sit and write while nibbling on breakfast or lunch. Certain of their items are truly top-notch -- the vegetarian/vegan chili, for example, or their home-made granola come to mind. On the other hand, some of their sandwiches are a bit lackluster. My biggest gripe is the fact that their green salad is obviously from a package, and they don't bother to remove the few wilted or wet pieces of lettuce that invariably are present. The coffee is Metropolis roasted to a somewhat burnt taste. There is usually parking on the street nearby. Overall, I consider this place a mainstay and would recommend it to couples for a weekend brunch -- but find your own favorites and stick to them!

Hipster Diner - Edit
Flying Saucer is a hipster style diner. I ate here a while back and wasn't a huge fan, but recently I've noticed they've had quite a few review great reviews - so I shall return (and an update will surely follow).
Read moreI had the 'tofu sweet potato hash' and thought it was just OK - I hate sweet potatoes and they said they'd switch them with regular but never did, so this is proabably why I didn't like it. They have a ton of other vegan options on the menu, so I'll likely try some of the other things.
