Incredible - Edit
I loved this place. Truly unreal flavors and service. I’m so glad there’s a vegan place open so late at night downtown… weirdly though, it wasn’t filled with people there to try the food, mostly bar hoppers! Depending on your vibe it has what you want!
Read moreThe burger was unreallll. The mozzarella sticks were insane!!! I want to go again and again!!
Pros: Food , Filling , Flavorful

Unbelievable Food - Edit
The food is incredible. Been here twice and have been blown away both times. Just amazing flavours and good quality food. The portions have felt significant and it’s seriously one of my favorite restaurants. This time we just got the mozzarella sticks and the Mac sampler. The variety on the flavours of Mac and cheese was good and hands down the best mozzarella sticks we’ve ever had. Highly recommend you check this place out. It can get busy and club like late at night. They serve food late!

Live jazz on Wednesdays - Edit
On Wednesdays, they have live jazz starting at 8pm - which is when I arrived. It was a chill vibe, (when I visited) 3 musicians, and from what I could tell if you have your instrument handy, they may even accept you into the group for a few songs/solos. On the Wednesday in early October that I went, there was only about 15 folks there max. Definitely no line out the door.
Read moreI came back late on a Saturday night, and there was a line out the door and loud DJ music that made it impossible to hold a conversation. Definitely a different vibe.
The first bite of my bacon jam & guyere burger was pure heaven. I savored every bite… until the sugar hit my bloodstream. I loved it, but it ultimately was too sweet for my pallet.
Pros: Unique burger toppings, Pick your vibe (jazz, DJ, or quiet)

Drooling - Edit
Stayed at the Sentinel Hotel specifically because Fortune was inside. Ate the tenders every night like I was in my early twenties coming back from partying starving 😂 So good! The rosemary garlic fries are huge and so tasty. Highly recommend.

100% plant based 100% Delicious - Edit
Great bartender, super friendly & gave great recommendations on their menu as well as other local vegan eateries. I truly couldn't decide between this burger and the Pesto Mac and cheese. Next time I'm in town I'll try that with the brownie and ice cream.
Read moreThe burger was quite large even for my big mouth so I ate 1 onion ring separately. I did not want to smash down that fluffy beautiful bun. The jam added a touch of sweet & I don't think I've ever had bacon jam (real or faux).
Side note on the burger patty, I believe they could fool a meat eater with this one.
Truly delicious and filling.
Pros: Flavor~ Jam & sauce, Potion, Ambiance

Great food and cocktails - Edit
Simply amazing and gorgeous cocktails. Three kind of Mac and cheese to choose from, so we tried two. Mozzarella sticks are crunchy and incredibly cheesy. Bakon wrapped dates are indescribably decadent. Bakon jam & Gruyere burger is a sweet and savory messy delight. Friendly staff and nice quiet atmosphere.

I ordered the Crispy Chikun Burger, which is panko and herbs de provence crispy chikun, romesco, butter lettuce, pickles, and herbed aioli on a potato bun served with fries and ketchup. The burger was good, but messy. The fries were crispy and seasoned.

Pros: Bakon Jam & Gruyere Burger = best burger in town, Bakon Wrapped Dates & Mozzarella Sticks, Mac & Cheeze
Cons: All chick’n items surprisingly bland on inside, Chick’n Parm is especially dry & bland, Sometimes out of key ingredients on slow days

Super impressed - Edit
I wasn't sure if I could take an omni here based on some of the reviews but the food was so good! I was super skeptical about the bacon wrapped dates especially because most vegan bacon isn't that realistic to me but this was great! Everything was tasty and atmosphere was relaxed but fancy at 6pm on a Friday night, great whiskey sour. Perfect date place near Portland Center Stage.

Vibes & Vittles - Edit
Great lounge vibe with a small but satisfying menu and a wrap around bar with NA options. The bacon wrapped dates are standouts! Good for a date or a group hang. Such a treat to have a late night vegan spot - open until midnight even during the week!

Not worth the visit - Edit
Super confused about the great reviews this place received, as I was definitely not impressed. I ordered the Schwarma Bowl, which is described in the menu as: "Beyond Shawarma Kabobs served over cauliflower rice, edamame, tzatziki & roasted seasonal vegetables. Topped with chimichurri & parsley." Cauliflower rice was not used (I think bulgar or something similar was substitued - they never said this would be the case), there was no edamame, and the roasted veg was red and green peppers, poorly prepared eggplant, and far too many onions.
Read moreOverall, the dish was a smallish size, and tasted lacklustre at best. Bar service only, and the guys behind the bar were not super friendly and seemed generally uninterested to be there. The drinks were the best part but I certainly wouldn't go back, nor would I order anything else to eat.
Cons: Unfriendly service, Food didn't match the description , Food was mediocre

Great Bar Food, Club Vibe - Edit
The food is top notch as far as bar offerings go. It also arrived at my table in record time. The chickn burger was one of the better versions I've had.

Loud club but good food - Edit
This is a nightclub first and foremost. We did go on a Friday around 10pm so it is probably calmer earlier in the evening or during the week. They were out of some items but we snagged the garlic Parmesan fries which were great for a late night snack with drinks. Their cocktails were impressive and the service was decent considering how busy it was. By the time we left at 11, there was a line outside to get in. If you're wanting a dance club with fancy cocktails and a full vegan menu, this is the place for you.

Best Burger I ever had - Edit
The Bakon Jam Gruyere Burger I had was incredible. Let me be clear the food was 10/10. Very nice dining room. Wednesday’s are live Jazz, I wished I came then. The rest of the time it’s DJ curated music. There are no servers or hosts, all food is ordered at the bar, you get a number and the kitchen walks it out to you. The only drawback was that there are no high chairs for kids, and no changing table in the bathroom, luckily my kid is a little bigger, and it could have been harder for me if they weren’t. I understand that it’s a bar, but other bars have high chairs and a posted time that minors are not allowed past. That said the food was fantastic for a reasonable price; it looks like the savings from not having servers and host are passed to the customer, providing high end quality food at an accessible price.
Read morePros: Food Quality, Food Taste, Decent price considering the quality and flavor
Cons: No high chair, No changing table, Occasionally annoying dancy club music

Really good and interesting when you wanna try something other than a veggie burger. Had to wait a long time for utensils after getting food, while server flirted with another guest and even told me he was. Wtf.

Great vibes and food! - Edit
Went to Fortune on a Friday around midnight and it was definitely busy. Waited in line outside for about 20 minutes. Ordered food and drinks at the bar and it took about 40 minutes to get our food. They were out of a lot of the menu items by the time we ordered. Tried the shwarma plate, caesar salad, and burger. All were pretty good. Really loved the drinks though! Such creative options. I would definitely go back to Fortune and try out some of their other food options for sure.

Fortune is an appropriate name for this place. Great menu, great atmosphere! Especially love that the menu features elements from several local hard-hitters (Cultured Kindness cheese, Missionary Truffles, Thrilling Foods Bakon, Dinger’s Deli meats and hoagie). Yummy cocktails as well. Fortune is not to be missed!
