not the best .. - Edit
came here for dinner on my bristol trip with my friends - i was a bit disappointed, but it might just be what i ordered. the popcorn cauliflower to start was very delicious - sweet and spicy, very tasty. unfortunately did not take a photo as was too busy eating them. i ordered the mapo tofu dan dan noodles for main which really let me down. the dish was overwhelmingly spicy, to the point where no flavour was coming through, just pure spice. i'm usually quite good with spicy food, so this isn't usually an issue, but this dish i found very spicy for some reason and when looking at the noodles i was bringing up on my fork, it was saturated in chilli flakes 🌶️ i'm not sure if i ordered wrong here, but i really did not enjoy this main which was a shame. i don't think i would come back if i was to visit bristol again

Nice experience/Mediocre food - Edit
The staff were absolutely lovely, and the atmosphere was a very casual vibe and was lovely. Me and my boyfriend ordered lots of different bits and bobs including spring rolls, vegan gyoza, two types of chips and the vegan noodles. My boyfriend ordered two meat dishes as he isn’t vegan. However these dishes were nice but mediocre. We wanted to try a different cuisine we don’t eat much Asian style food, but it was just nice just nothing to be astonished over. The vegan noodles also had a little bit of a kick in which I do like spice but it does put me off personally when it interrupts the actual taste.
Read moreOn the other hand they did have quite a few options for vegans which were great! And they could make certain menu items vegan also which i thought was really well catered for!
I would recommend for the experience and the quality of the food because it was divine, and the presentation being 10/10 and staff were really lovely.
Pros: Lovely staff, Great Presentation, Really good quality food
Cons: Too much spice , The cocktails were very bitter, Food being mediocre

I'd give it another star, but... - Edit
I love some dishes but not a fan of the rest.
Read moreThe kimchi rice and gado-gado are wonderful. But the dandan noodle doesn't taste at all authentic. The Sando is great value for money. But the dumplings taste like store-bought ones. All in all, the good and bad balance each other out.
I will say though, I love the drinks menu and the katsu fries never disappoint!

Unique and Tasty Vegan Asian Food! - Edit
Four Wise Monkeys has suddenly become one of my favourite Asian food restaurants in Bristol! The food was so tasty and unusual; I loved it! I ordered the Tofu Sando which I’ve never had before and has become one of my favourite vegan dishes ever! This item is a must try if you visit! I also had a portion of fries with it because at lunchtime during the week they have a lunch deal where you get fries and a Sando for £10! It’s a must! Also, I had the vegan fried rice which was delicious and unlike any fried rice I’ve had before! The portions were so generous and everything seemed so fresh! It is quite expensive but I would say it’s worth the money because it’s unlike Asian food anywhere else in Bristol. The restaurant itself has a cool vibe; very relaxed and casual, and the staff were helpful and friendly too. I would 100% recommend this place and I cannot wait to go back!

Delicious dan dan noodles - Edit
The tofu dan dan noodles are incredible! Creamy, spicy and full of flavour with the crunch of peanuts, by far my favourite dish! There are lots of vegan-friendly sides such as spring rolls, summer rolls, kimchi fries, salads etc. The restaurant also has a lunch time deal with a panko tofu sandwich, fries, drink for £10. Sandwich is available for dinner or on their late dining menu too! Sides and drinks are expensive but the noodles are great value for the taste they pack😄
