Perfect - Edit
It deserves all the 5 stars, and more! Great place for a coffee, breakfast, or whenever you need a little snack. I loved the pastel de nata and the croissant filled with tofu, rucola and olives. Can't wait to be back in my next summer holidays next year.

Fantastic pancakes & sandwiches - Edit
Loved this café so much that I ended up going twice during my stay. Everything I tried was delicious, and the quality was consistently excellent. I especially recommend the pancakes and the sandwiches—they were both fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a great breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot.

Lovely spot for brunch or lunch - Edit
This is an adorable vegan brunch spot that also makes vegan versions of Portuguese food; the way they make "beef" chunks in their "meat" sandwiches is amazing. The bread is soft inside and crunchy on the outside (Portuguese bread is divine) and the veggies they added are fresh. They also have Pasteis de Nata; the flaky crust was perfect and the custard inside was creamy, just perfect.

The food was great! The tempeh toast was simple but really good, and the pancakes were also really good, not too sweet and filling. I recommend it and would come back again! Also liked the stickers In the bathroom;)

The Crispy Tofu for the unexpected win - Edit
I was looking forward to this place for pancakes. After a 25 min walk I chose the ham and cheese croissant. My husband the tofu croissant and our son the crispy tofu.
Read moreWell his crispy tofu was a burger which we didn’t realize. But it was delicious. 5/5. Sun dried tomatoes with crispy tofu and mayo and just yum! The bun was soft and yummy.
My ham and cheese sucked compared to his crispy tofu. It was dry. Like the bread fell off dry. The croissant was hard and not even flaky. Unfortunately my husband’s was the same.
Fortunately for us our 8 year old preferred our dry hard ham and cheese croissant over his juicy crispy tofu so we switched.
He only ate the “ham” which was way better than the “ham” we’ve had in California because the bread was too hard he said.
The mint lemonade didn’t taste like we’d had expect and made all of make sour faces lol 😂
That all being said I still will go back to try the Pancakes and do another review for what I actually even wanted there.

I did not like my choice, I had the cheese/brie tapioca. The strawberry smoothie was fine. I just think I should have chosen something else.. The staff was very friendly and the vibe is cute.

Best vegan breakfast in Lisbon – we loved it so much we came back twice! - Edit
We loved GAL Cafe so much that we came back twice – Saturday at 9am and Sunday at 11am! Everything we tried was absolutely outstanding.
Read moreOn Saturday we shared two mains: I had the chocolate pancakes with Madeira banana and peanut butter – perfectly fluffy and decadent – while my partner enjoyed the croissant with marinated tofu, fermented cashew cream, oregano, black olives and arugula. To drink we shared the strawberry smoothie (with banana, orange zest, linseed and plant milk) and an iced strawberry matcha latte.
On Sunday we went for the lentil balls sandwich (pita bread, roasted tomato sauce, fermented cashew cream, homemade mustard, and pickled red cabbage) and the homemade granola bowl with yogurt, fresh fruits, peanut butter and seeds – one each. We also had another iced strawberry matcha latte, fresh orange juice, and a refreshing strawberry lemonade. Every single dish was beautifully presented, clearly made with care, and packed with creative vegan flavors that don't compromise on taste. Whether you're vegan or not, this place is a must-visit in Lisbon!

Wonderful find in Lisbon - Edit
Laid back cafe perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. My partner described the burger as the best he has ever had. We didn't have room for pancakes but these seemed to be the favourite with the locals.
