Clearly marked healthy vegan options - Edit
I liked how clearly vegan options were marked in the menu. And how light and healthy the portions were.

Disappointing - Edit
I went here basically only for the pistachio cake and they did not have it so I went with an ordinary fruit salad since the other deserts did not seem appealing for me for breakfast. Maybe go here more for lunch. The prices are very high also.

Plenty of options - Edit
Clearly marked menu with many options. Sadly the wrap I got was far from great as veggies were burnt and all I could taste was that flavor. Also the smoothie was probably made out of syrup, not fresh fruit which was not great either. My salad was good though😅

Good range of marked vegan options. - Edit
Garun is one of the few non-vegan places in the city that actually has vegan options marked in the menu. There are a number of soups as well as a pasta dish, pizza, and desserts. The pizza was interesting: pesto actually flavors the dough. The only drawback is that it is very light on toppings with one tiny piece of tofu per slice and a mushroom or tomato here and there.
Read moreThe pistachio dessert was really unique. I liked the puffed balls (not sure what this was, I don't think it was rice) and the cream on top quite rich (it has a slight coconut taste to it). It's worth a try.

Well labelled menu - Edit
Menu has a V sign that refers to vegan items only. Tried the vegan pizza which was nice. Old menu had vegan croissants and pancakes but they are now removed. Pistachio cake is meant to be vegan but taste a bit suspicious, cream had a hint of dairy. Highly recommend to double check if you can speak Armenian as the staff understand very basic English.

Cons: Suspicious pistachio cake, No vegan breakfast items

Deserves 5 stars - Edit
So nice and cozy place! On the menu, I counted 13 vegan dishes and 2 vegan desserts. Vegan items are marked with the letter V on the menu. My husband and I visited this place twice, we really liked the hummus set, pizza and pistachio dessert. We also took fried mushrooms with walnuts (it was a side dish, but we took it as an appitizer). This dish had a great addition of cilantro.
Read moreTofu pizza is worthy of attention: thin crust with topping, fresh arugula on top. Pistachio dessert is simply unmatched: a white biscuit with puffed rice, coconut mousse cream on it, covered with green cocoa velor, multi-colored fruit jellies on top. By the way, vegan desserts are also gluten-free here.
The portions are quite large. I think for two for a very hearty meal, 1 appetizer, 1 main course and 1 dessert will be enough.
You can also order cappuccino and latte with vegetable milk.
Unfortunately, there are no vegan breakfast options. Some time ago there were, for example, vegan pancakes.
I highly recommend this place, it deserves 5 stars, I think.

Average. Very average. - Edit
Not a bad meal, but nothing outstanding. Mostly everything looked better than it actually tasted.
Read moreThe pesto pizza was like any average pesto pizza you may have had, covered with some plain fried tofu scattered on top that tumbled off the slices on the journey from plate to mouth. The side salad was fine, but nothing you can't get anywhere else.
The desserts looked amazing but were really disappointing. The whipped fake cream toppings/fillings tasted like slightly sweetened water. The pistachio dessert was a little oily. The muffin was very bland. It really seemed like the priority was making the desserts look amazing for Instagram rather than taste good.
This is just speculation, but as Yerevan's vegan demographic is quite small and pretty new, I suspect a lack of experience with vegan eating among the staff and therefore making vegan meals rich and flavourful contributed to the appearance-over-experience at this place. Hopefully this will improve over time.
Also found the furniture to be extremely uncomfortable.
Pros: It's perfectly okay.
Cons: It's not more than okay., A little pricey for the taste., Those chairs are pretty painful.

If I could give 5 I’d deffo do that - Edit
This place isn’t fully veg or vegetarian but the vegan options they have do deserve 5 stars because vegan places don’t have such wonderful meal that this place has.
Read moreMushroom vegan soup, pizza, pistachio dessert, and the last position was just mesmerising! I think that’s how happiness feels like.
Waiters are super sweet.
Thank you for having these vegan positions. It made my Yerevan visit!
