A bite of Japan

Hard to find. It is in this large space with many other stands. Ask another stand where it is.

Pros: Both delicious but i liked the white bean one more, Friendly staff., Air-conditioned area

Cons: Hard to find, No seating, .... Thats it

I just can't believe it's vegan !! The white bean paste is thes best !🤗

I double, triple checked : Everything is vegan. No egg, no milk, nothing from animal. And that's sooo perfect.

This is a very generous sweet, fill with bean paste. Usually I am a lover of red bean paste, but for that treat, I prefer the white bean paste one !!

Very cheap, 110 yens per one.

Just go for it, they are always freshly baked in front of you !

There are many locations around the city.

One of the most delicious highlights of our trip

These traditional hot cakes are SO delicious, we went back later in the day for more! It's true that it can take a minute to find. On Google Maps just route yourself to "Takashimaya". Go inside the Takashimaya mall, and go down one floor to B1, the basement level. You'll want to follow the signs to "Breads". As soon as you enter this section it is the very first bakery. Each cake is 110 yen, which is crazy good value especially for how phenomenal they were. They come in two flavors, and you can't go wrong with both.

Delicious

These buns are great. They were so fresh they were still warm! Not sickly sweet which was nice (I prefer savoury).
I love how they wrap the box and put in a little note about them. Ordering was easy, you just point to what you want on the menu on the counter.
They are in the speciality food court in the subway.

Pros: Fast service, Delicious

Quite hard to find, located in the basement of the mall! Google maps take you to 6th floor...

Cheap and delicious typical sweets

Very cheap vegan sweets, our favorite being the red bean one. The only drawback is that it was incredibly hard to find in the mall.

Don’t go out of your way

I found this place extremely difficult to find inside of Takashimaya. I looked at some photos for reference. They only have one menu item—a bean cake—in two varieties. It was decent, but hardly a “bakery.”

They told me it is not vegan!

Edit: I guess it's Vegan, and they don't know it themselves. 😄

Many people in Japan don't understand the word "vegan" or assume that in order to call something vegan, it needs to be officially certified. These do not contain any animal ingredients, but if you use the word "vegan" when asking, it's very likely that they would say they are not.

Was good, nothing to write home about

Both the red bean and the white bean are good and super cheap, so no complaint there.

Super delicious

I tasted the white bean paste "cake" there and it was so delicious. Staff is OK, doing their job.

Pros: Really good taste

Cons: No space to eat
