Excellent

That chive biscuit is the best thing I’ve ever had. Breakfast croissant would have been perfection without the sweet sausage in it. Coffee cake mm mm mmh!

Delicious bakes and great coffee!

So many options to choose from but I got the cinnamon roll (which has crunchy caramelized edges, YUM!) and the corn cookies, both delicious!! Their coffee drinks were also great. They have vegan whole cakes available as well, which is really cool!

Solid vegan baked goods

This little bakery is located in the heart of Hillcrest and was a fabulous find as we were walking around taking in the sights. My friend and I stopped by around 13:00 and they luckily still had some options available.

There were a few great sized portions of their cheesecake brownie, lemon tarts, and muffins still available. I went for the brownie ($5) and it was a wonderful treat for sure. It was not overly sugary as a traditional brownie and retained a similar consistency and gooeyness. The lemon tart was also fantastic and another must-try. For these prices, I will happily return for more someday.

Definitely stop on by and reap the benefits of an all-vegan bakery because the goods here are top notch. Take advantage of their frontside outdoor seating and people watch with a treat and latte - makes for a great afternoon break. Thanks Hazel & Jade for the awesome sweets!

Best pastries in SanDiego

This is my favorite spot in the county for pastries. I have had SO MANY of them and you literally can’t go wrong with any of them, except maybe the ones you leave un purchased. Haha. I especially love all of their croissants. Savory, sweet, plain, they’re all delicious regardless of one’s dietary preferences.
Another favorite for me is getting an iced latte. I love their almond cashew blend milk. It’s creamy and delicious.

I definitely recommend giving their bakery a try.

Pros: All vegan, Everything is amazing , Cashew/almond blend house made and fabulous

Fantastic Breakfast Spot

I stopped here based on a recommendation from our server the previous night, and I'm so glad I followed her advice. I had a ham and cheez croissant and it was delicious. Not sure I'd ever had a vegan croissant before, and this did not disappoint. The cappuccino was also incredibly yummy. Will definitely be returning to this place to try more items.

Pros: Delicious pastries and coffee, Cute outdoor seating area, Nice central location

Fantastic cakes

We ordered two cakes for a celebration, the strawberry lemonade and chocolate mocha. Both were a surprisingly large amount, and tasted marvelous. Some omnis at the event said it was one of the best cakes they'd ever had!

Pros: Outstanding cakes, Cute shop

YUM!!

This delicious all-vegan bakery has fantastic treats. I went on a Friday. The service was fast, and the staff were helpful. The prices were moderate, unlike many specialty bakeries I’ve been to. Highly recommend!

Top Notch Tasties!

Everything I've ever had here over the years has been delicious. Often return for:
croissants, breakfast sammies, danish, peanut butter rice krispie brownie and focaccia.

Not a frequent coffee drinker and introduced to a local coffee maker with the drip offering that Hazel & Jade serves when a friend I was with ordered it. Tried a sip, now I enjoy this a tasty smooth coffee that put coffee on the map for me regularly.

Also introduced to the fact that not all shredded coconut is created equal. Previously disliked it, after trying their magic bar with it sprinkled on top, I now know much more about the different types of coconut products out there and enjoy it! Thanks for introducing me to new possibilities!

Best vegan pastries I've ever had in my life

Incredible to say the least. You wouldn't even guess that everything is vegan. I got the pistachio croissant bun, the cheese danish, brioche roll, and coffee cake and all were mouthwatering. However, the croissant bun was AMAZING and my favorite. My non-vegan bf thought it was incredible too which is saying a lot because he really prefers his non vegan foods. My only regret is not discovering Hazel & Jade sooner. If I lived here I would be in trouble. I'll be coming back.

Amazing vegan bakery

OK, it was my birthday, and that was my excuse for spending $100 at a vegan bakery. However, I got enough baked goods to last a week, delicious almond croissants and cheese danish, plus a slice of cake that was my birthday cake! I am grateful I don’t live closer because I would get really fat eating at this place all the time. It is tiny but not to be missed.

Pros: Vegan!

I recommend the breakfast croissant if you’re craving something savory or the rose and pistachio scone if you’re craving something sweet!

Pros: All vegan, Savory and sweet pastries, Fresh

Cute vegan bakery cafe

This place is delicious! Great coffee with both oat & house made almond milk. The mocha was delicious & not overly sweet. Baked goods are definitely the highlight. From croissants to scones over magic cookie bars, everything looks delicious. We loved every item we tried! Probably my favorite baked goods I’ve had (& I try them all over the world!). Highly recommend.

Pros: Housemade plant milk, Everything is vegan, Amazing bakery goods

Cons: No indoor seating

Amazing pastry and latte!

This place was AMAZING! I loved how everything was vegan. On their menu there was a note that says none of their sugar has bone char in it - which was a nice touch. I got the almond croissant and it was delicious 🤤 The latte was very delicious! The espresso wasn’t burnt and very smooth. Highly recommend!

Pros: All vegan , Decent price

Cons: Only almond milk and oat milk

scrumptious 🤤

these vegan pastries were absolutely incredible. I shared the oat scone, chocolate brioche bun, breakfast croissant, and ham and cheese croissant and everything was absolutely perfect. the oat scone was the perfect texture - not dry at all - and had SO MUCH flavor. the sweet glaze on top was 😋. the two croissants were very similar and both perfectly flaky and light, while also being very filling! the cheese was melted perfectly (not common for vegan goods). the chocolate brioche was my least favorite of the four, but still incredible. the crispy outside and doughy inside was heavenly.

along with these delicacies, I had the best latte I've ever had in my life - hazel & jade's iced lumpkin spice latte. It's so creamy and the pumpkin flavoring is made from real pumpkins, which you can absolutely taste.

incredible experience, I'd go every day if I lived closer.

Croissants finally !

Been dying for a chocolate croissant (sadly none were there), but had two croissants breakfast sandwiches and a chocolate brioche- really good and so moist. Gf had the scone and that was way better than I thought it would be. Super moist as well

Breakfast goodies

Thankfully, this bakery has been taking online orders for pick-up during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have the best cinnamon rolls that I have ever had. The texture differs from non-vegan versions; the cinnamon rolls remain moist and edible even after an hour. Their consistency might be described as chewy. They don’t get hard or dried out. The coffee cake is also moist and dense with those beautiful pieces of cinnamon and sugar on top. Some pastries leave you feeling like you just had a bite of air for breakfast. Not these. My taste buds and my stomach were quite satisfied.

My husband did have a jalapeño-cheese roll which he says was not impressive. He claims that it was light and that he could not taste the jalapeño. Not a big deal really. That’s not going to stop us from ordering cinnamon rolls and coffee cake from this place again.😄
