Was ok - Edit
Had to call them as they looked closed. The owner was friendly amw outside to let me in. Told me due to bank holiday weekend they have reduced kitchen services so we're mainly offering drinks, desserts, sweet breakfasts and quick things. So I could not get the English breakfast. I got waffels with chocolate sause maple syrup and icecream for a reasonable price. The chocolate sause was nice appeared to be melted chocolate, the icecream was not creamy enough, the waffel was a bit Crunchy.

Yummy food and lovely owner! - Edit
Myself and my husband are staying in Wales for the next two nights and whilst driving through Swansea we decided to pop into Hoopers. On first impression the place is wonderfully bright, full of plants and we were greeted straight away. I had the med veg with orzo and plant chicken and my husband had a pizza, which we both thoroughly enjoyed! The service that the owner Paul gives is second to none, what a lovely guy! He also showed us the little cabin area downstairs which is used for book clubs, karaoke, board games. If you are in the area I fully recommend visiting this place. Paul is such a lovely chatty guy, he gave us some great information about the local area and told us a wonderful story about volunteers using old Christmas trees to build sea defenses. Thanks for a wonderful visit :)

Wonderful Vegan Café Bar with Top-Tier Service! - Edit
As I was only in Abertawe for the night, I booked a table here a few days before visiting as I knew in advance that Hooper's was where I wanted to have dinner. My friend and I had a lovely meal here and even stayed on to have a few rounds of drinks! I definitely plan on visiting Hooper's again, and the owner (as some previous reviews on here have also alluded to) informed me that there is also accommodation available above the eatery that may be of interest to fellow vegan visitors in Abertawe who would like to support a small business who share their ethics (accomidation is called Sandy Beach Guest Rooms)!
Read moreHoopers are currently in the process of changing their menu, and the new menu is slightly different from the one I have attached to this review (the new menu can be found on their FB). I had the Plant Steak, Chipotle Chips and Peas, and my friend had the Plant Chicken Curry Bowl with Warm Mezzaluna Bread, which can be cooked on one of three levels of spice! Both portions were generous, and the food was evidently cooked in house and was very good. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, meaning you could nip in for a small snack or enjoy a three course meal, and there is plenty of variety available, too.
I washed my steak down with a chocolate milkshake, which was really tasty, followed by many gin and tonics, which went down well in the cafe bar's relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were so fantastic, and one man in particular (I believe he may be the owner) made us feel SO welcome and took really good care of every single customer.
I highly recommend paying Hoopers a visit as I am sure other vegans will find this unpretentious venue a breath of fresh air just as I did! I also suggest following their FB page as they post regular updates on events and menu changes. 🎊🌱🏴

Gorgeous food, cosy atmosphere and wonderful staff - Edit
Visited Sunday late afternoon / early evening. Never been before but heard many great things from a friend, and I can see why.
Read moreThe place is so cosy, welcoming and tidy. Reminded me a lot of Harvester, only it's better because it's all vegan ; )
The menu's really nice with loads to choose from in regards to starters, drinks, mains and desserts, and the prices for pretty much everything are good value too.
I had the spicy sausage roll, which was made fresh so didn't mind waiting a bit longer for it.
And had the biscoff ice cream for dessert. Both were gorgeous =)
Would have loved to have a little more ice cream for the money though, especially considering how moreish it is =D
The staff are really helpful and polite. I had a wicked discussion with the owner about various food, reason for going vegan, and some other interesting topics on the side.
Cheers Paul.
If I'm ever in Swansea again, I'll be returning for definite.
Pros: Lovely food, great menu that's not that expensive, Cosy and welcoming atmosphere, Great people staffing the place
Cons: Portions of ice cream. Would love more please ; P

1st Vegan Christmas meal at Hoopers or anywhere in Swansea - Edit
Pre booked online as soon as the Christmas menu came out, we preordered the Christmas no chicken skewers to start which were just enough as a starter not to big, we preordered the no plant steak fillet and the roasted no salmon, all came piping hot with roasties, yorkies, plenty of veg and gravy, and parsley sauce for the salmon, absolutely superb, the 2 non vegans loved the plant based steak fillet. We preordered the biscotti triple layered cake and the triple layered Jaffa cake cake, flavours are fantastic, couple of coffees and superb service we left. No time limit like most restaurants, absolutely superb Christmas decorations! Christmas as come to Hoopers! No pice of food as we put our phones away to have a phone free meal out!

Yes! Vegan pizza - Edit
The menu looks simple and humble but the food is excellent. We had a pizza each (you pick your toppings) which were delicious and cheesy garlic bread to start (lovely and cheesy). We shared a Jaffa cake cake for dessert which was amazing. Best cake I’ve had in ages. The wine was good too! Nice European cafe vibes in the place which is a really good space. Has a downstairs area that can be used for private parties and functions too. Paul was really friendly and helpful.

Swansea's unsung vegan hero! - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by Hooper's. Quirky and warm ambience, very friendly staff and a really good range of food. My friend and I had a variety of bits and pieces but the piece de resistance was the jaffa cake sponge!!! Amazing! Also in a lovely position on Swansea seafront where you can take a stroll along the prom to burn off some cals x

Delightful food and staff - Edit
Amidst a stormy day in Swansea, Hooper's unlocked their doors and let in my drenched family, welcoming us to their cozy space. Despite us being the only patrons on this rainy day, they offered us their whole menu and told us to stay as long as we'd like. The vegan chicken, encrusted with a garlicky spice mix, was delightful. The calzones are fully customizable and delicious.

I drive past this place every day on my way home from work and always thought it was closed, but don't be fooled by the rather dull exterior because this place is fantastic.
