Cute Cafe but Korean food didn't taste authentic - Edit
The place is super cute!
Read moreI think my first reaction was that the portions were really small for that price.
And I was wondering why the Yachaejeon was so dark and then I realised it was quite burnt. The sesame seeds were burnt and the spinach was burnt.
They didn’t make the pancake very well - the insides weren’t cooked properly and the outside was burnt😒
The Japchae was extremely oily. It also didn’t taste like authentic Korean noodles. It tasted just like fried noodles. I think it’s most probably because they might have omitted the onion and garlic even though we didn’t request for them to omit. I just said I was vegan and requested no dairy and no eggs.
Initially when I had the Sundubu-Jjigae, it was ok but I wasn’t blown away by it. After a while it did grow on me. But the portion was really small, I would have eaten 2 portions to be full.
The servers were friendly and courteous and asked how was the food. When I told them it was too oily and burnt, she thanked me for the feedback, so that was good.
There’s off-street parking and on a Saturday it was pretty easy to find. It’s way harder on a weekday though.
Food isn’t marked vegan so you’ll need to ask them which ones can be veganised.
I doubt I’d go back again though as it was really pricey for 3 dishes in small portions and unfortunately it didn’t really taste like Korean food that I remember having during my Korea trips or even eaten at the Korean places in KL.
Their cafe area looks real cute so maybe going there for drinks might be an option. I didn’t ask if they have vegan drinks though as I don’t drink cafe drinks much since it’s basically water and sugar and colouring😉Plus I don’t drink coffee.
They also suggest you call them up to pre-order as they prepare the food from scratch and it might take longer if you walk-in.
Do let me know how your experience goes if you decide to try them out.
Pros: Food can be veganised, Cute setting, Courteous servers
Cons: Their Korean food didn't taste authentic
