Decent Vegan Pizza - Edit
JB’s Pizza Parlor should be commended for having a plethora of vegan pizzas and wings. It is in a convenient location for Alger Heights residents.
Read moreThe pizza is decent. It is the kind that goes through a machine to warm, so no wood fire charred crust here. They have an okay vegan cheese to sauce ratio (so many places use too much vegan cheese that it comes out slimy).
Unfortunately, one of my biggest gripes with the restaurant is the functionality of the establishment itself. There is no indoor dinning allowed, even though they have a whole front dinning section with empty tables and seats. Additionally, there is a front door entrance; however, they keep it locked: requiring patrons to walk in the sidewalkless street around the building to the back door to enter. It is crazy to me that they choose to do this. It hurts the welcoming feeling of the downtown Alger Heights area.
JB’s Pizza Parlor is a decent stop for pizzas on a Friday night. Just make sure to only get carry out and enter from the back.

when you're craving a nice, greasy pizza for take away, this is a good choice! the vegan sausage that i got on my pizza was really tasty actually, and the peppers, onions, and mushrooms were nicely done. i thought the sauce was well seasoned too. the cheese was good, daiya perhaps? i'm not sure. but there was A LOT on there, so maybe ask for half amount if you're not super into vegan cheese. the standard amount tasted better cold honestly! overall yummy, and they were real nice in there!

I always get a cheese pizza here because they have great sauce and the ratios are great! It’s never too much of one or the other. But we always get one of their signature pizzas too! They’re just different enough to be approachable and unique enough to make me remember. The Hawaiian with mandarins !!! WHAT!
