The best

I have been here soooo many times because they honestly have some of the best vegan junk food I've had. They also have weekly specials that change every Thursday and I like checking what new things they're trying. I just wish they'd keep some stuff from their specials to put on their permanent menu because sometimes I really miss the stuff I tried lol

DROOL

They had plenty of vegan options. I went with a large group, so I got to try a large variety of food... The mozzarella sticks, fries, cheesesteak, pizzas, and bread pudding were all delicious. I wasn't a fan of the vegan pepperoni, though. The menu clearly stated which options were vegan and which substitutions to request for making non-vegan options suitable. The atmosphere was fun and I liked our server. Would go again.

Pros: Taste, Decent serving size, Funky fresh vibes

Cons: Was a little pricey

Food is average

This is a typical junk food vegan splurge night - food is pretty average and nothing to write home to. A pro is the amount of options there are !

Pros: Many options

Cons: Average food

Monday is Pizza night!

I didn’t know Johnny Rads offered a pizza special on Mondays but it’s a great reason to dine in… buy a drink and get any large pizza for only $11. Amazing deal!

The vegan cheese is no longer sourced from Greener Kitchen 😔, and while the new cheese (from Teese) was still tasty, we missed the deliciousness from Greener Kitchen. Huge portions on everything. Lovely staff.

Pros: Skeeball!, Vegan cheese, vegan specials (buffalo caulif app), Great prices especially on Mondays

Tasty appetizer and dessert

We loved the vegan tenders appetizer we got!! Not super enamoured with the vegan cheesesteak or the vegan meatball sub for our entrées. BUT the Oreo bread pudding dessert was amazing!! Very rich and sweet, perfect to split. Unfortunately this is one of their rotating special desserts… but I hope you can try it!

Pros: Many things on the menu are vegan or can be made, Not too expensive for the city, Super friendly staff😄

Cons: Didn’t love our entrées

Great pizza and cheezesteak

Blown away by the pizza, cheesesteak and appetizers. Sampled a few things from the menu, most of which can be made vegan or are already vegan. Most pizza can be made vegan by substituting vegan cheese which is the best I’ve had on a vegan pizza so far. The Templeton made vegan with the cheese was to die for if you like simple w/ a great garlic flavor. The crust was exceptional. The cheesesteak was phenomenal with a ooey gooey vegan cheese sauce and delicious vegan steak. The hush puppies and nuggets are also 10/10. Johnnys ranch is one of the best I’ve tasted and their drink menu is also very expansive. They also have many vegan desserts. Great atmosphere and friendly staff!! Took some non vegan friends and they loved it

Pros: Mostly vegan menu , Great vegan cheese , Phenomenal tasting food

Cons: No parking lot - street parking

Not short on options

Accommodating and has vegan options for most of the menu. Rad is a fitting name for the place.
Pro tip: Add the chipotle Mayo to everything. Dip your fries in it. Bath in it. Name your first born after it.

Will return

This place is a nice option for where everyone can find something. I had the cheese steak sandwich and it was good. For an appetizer, we had the vegan huspuppies and the were to die for. I will return.

Wish I could give 5 stars!

As others have said, the vegan chicken cheesesteak rocks my world. If you can only have time for one vegan meal in Bmore, this is the place.

Pros: Awesome food, Vegan versions of classics, Cool vibe and full bar

Best Vegan Cheesesteak!!

For a while I thought nothing could top One World Cafe’s vegan Philly Cheesesteak but boy was I wrong!! The vegan cheesesteak at Johnny Rads is quite literally the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The vegan meat is insanely good, the peppers and onion are fresh, and the vegan cheese they use is actually delicious. I always pair it with their vegan donut twists which I can’t get enough of. Honestly, I would never leave Baltimore just so I can keep eating this meal from Johnny Rads.

Tasty tasty pizza!

Arrived in Baltimore with low expectations of vegan foods ... this place instantly changed my mind. They offer a couple of vegan specific pizzas and bar fare, as well as specials containing vegan options. On top of that you can either build your own vegan pizza using cheese, chicken, steak, or sausage, or just sub those components into a “meat” pizza. I did this with the BBQ chicken, and it was boos! Would (and very likely will) eat here again!

Pros: Great pizza, Enough suitable toppings to keep things exciting

Nice vegan beer selection. The vegan pizza is good, there’s a fair amount of vegan bar food options. It’s a fun atmosphere. Parking is tough to get on the street during a busy night.

Cons: Parking

Great Pizza/American fare restaurant

We try to visit Johnny Rads a few times/month. Their pizza is great, but I prefer their vegan steak and cheese with all the fixings and the vegan chipotle mayo on the side. Johnny Rads has a skateboard theme and if you bring younger kids with you you can keep them entertained counting the number of skateboards in the restaurant masquerading as other things.

Pros: Many vegan options on well labeled menu, Knowledgeable staff, Vegan specials

Cons: Very busy most of the time

Amazing find

Pizza place and bar with skateboards and posters as deco. Old school video games with joy sticks. Total hole in the wall you'd never know how many veg options. Basically any of their pizzas can be made vegan. They have vegan: sausage, chicken and beef.
Cheese steak is amazing and the cinnamon doughnut is a must get!

great vegan/veg/non-veg options

I took my meat eating friend here to try the cheesestake ($7 on tuesdays! $9 on other days) and he loved it. He said the steak was so close to the real thing too.
I loved that the cheese was very mealty but not googy like other vegan cheese. It resembled more of a queso feel.

Pros: Lots of already vegetarian options less vegan opti

Cons: However, to replacing meat in other non meat items

Delicious vegan options (vegan fried dough anyone??)

Johhny Rad's was awesome...they had a large selection of vegan options on their menu that are clearly labelled. I ordered the vegan Templeton pizza, a tomato pie. You could also create your own pizza with vegan cheese and meats. For dessert I got the vegan Cinnamon Donut Twist, a large portion of fried dough dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with a sweet dipping glaze. The pizza and donut were excellent quality, tasted fantastic (I mean deeeelicious), and were very reasonable priced. Check the hours before you go because they are open for dinner...and note that the space is lively and can get a little loud. This is an awesome option for vegans (and non-vegans) near Patterson Park!

Pros: Excellent food, Clearly Labelled, Vegan selection

Good food, better beer

This place serves vegan versions of traditional pub food alongside the meat- and dairy-based versions. Food was well prepared and tasty, heavy on the fried and wheat/soy fake meats. The beer section was excellent.

Pros: vegan and vegetarian options clearly labeled, beer, skeeball

Cons: loud, light on the vegetables

Punk pizza perfection

I love this place. I loved it even more when I was a drinker, because it's very much a bar atmosphere and they have an excellent beer list, but I still love it now. The punk rock-skate aesthetic of the place is genuine and makes me feel really comfortable. The staff are awesome and the service is always great, even when it is packed. I don't know how they do it, but they must have some super efficient cooks in back. I have been here many times, both when it is slow and in the midst of a mad rush, and have never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for my food.

The vegan options for pizza are excellent, with Teese cheese and various mock meats (the sausage is best, IMO), and there are a few other vegan items on the menu, as well as occasional vegan specials. The fried edamame, while roundly defeating the purpose of edamame as a light healthy snack, are amazing. My favorite pizzas on the menu are the Tilt Mode and the Pepe, with or without mock sausage. Pretty much any pizza on the menu can be made vegan and customized as you like it. They also have a vegan cinnamon donut twist that comes with a glaze dipping sauce-- fantastic! All other vegan and vegetarian items are clearly marked on the menu.

I haven't tried their (newer) brunch menu yet, but I am reminded now that I must do so. The vegan hash sounds spectacular. They also serve vegan pancakes. Looks like another trip back is in order soon!

(Also they have skeeball!)

Pros: excellent food, good value, friendly punk staff
