Very cool place with lots of vegan options - Edit
The menu offers a lot of vegan options, clearly labeled.
Read moreWe tried the fresh kimchi (a must !), the dumplings and the uddon curry. The curry portion was huge and very good, although I found the vegetables a bit blend (lloked like frozen vegetables to me).
We couldn't try any dessert as we were too full haha
Friendly staff and super cool music in what looks like a pub atmosphere
Pros: Many vegan options, Huge portions
Cons: No Corean beer available

Lunchtime Menu - over priced starter but great mains - Edit
Very cosy spot! Ordered kimchi pancake (jeon) to start for € 8. Was shocked when 3 tiny American-style kimchi pancakes arrived. Nothing like traditional the jeon - this maybe because it was a lunch menu as I have seen reviews with proper kimchi jeon.
Read moreHowever, the main was the star of the meal! I got the the tofu kimchi bokumbap (this came with egg - we are vegetarian) and my partner got the Tofu Bibimbap. Both meals were hot and filling. There was little kimchi but still super tasty.
Pros: Cosy and nice service , Large main portion
Cons: Lunch menu starter over priced

Ok - Edit
There’s room from improvement. Some options from my understanding have the V, but they aren’t fully vegan when you actually ask the waiter. I’d be wary of cross contamination with fish sauces, other sauces that go into the food here.

Staff knowledgeable about vegan options - Edit
Pretty good selection of vegan starters (around 4-5) and vegan mains (around 3-4). Staff can also advise on veganising other dishes. Really good hearty and filling food, good music and vibe.

Bad quality - Edit
I had the "famous" bibimbap and felt robbed to have a warm, tasteless salad with burnt rice and sriracha for the price of 15 euros... I also ordered vegan dumplings, whose were lacking the flavour too.
Read moreI give htem 2 stars because the vegan options are labelled, but still for me, it is a place to avoid.
Cons: expensive, very bad quality

Best bibimbap! - Edit
Aperantly the oldest korean restaurant in Dublin. I had the vegan bibimbap with avocado and soysauce. God it was so good! The rice gut really crispy at the bottom, highly recommended!

Some of the best Korean food in Dublin - Edit
Kimchi Hop House is a really great restaurant and bar. My friends and I have only ever had excellent food and service here, the vibe of the place is really fun, and there is a community library / books to read while you wait. The Shakespeare Bar is also really fun and has a nice smoking area and range of beers.

Not great any more - Edit
This used to be great for vegan options but it's gone downhill. The Bimibap was barely edible it was so tasteless. They need to bring back the hot pot with cooked tofu and kimchi with noodles. We booked a table and were seated out the back in the smoking area in the rain. Really disapointing

Cons: Pricey, Not welcoming, Not many vegan options

Great Korean food - Edit
I was impressed with the amount of vegan options they have. I also loved that they wrote down the ones that were vegan next to it, it made it much easier for me. The food itself was delicious and I recommend getting the avocado nigiri sushi above anything else.

Great Korean/Japanese food - Edit
The Hop House caters mainly for meat eaters but has a good range of options that are suitable for vegans, not least their Kim chi, which is rarely found without fish in restaurants. The vegan bento is always a winner with plentiful portions, while the bibimbap is also nice. For smaller servings, the vegan gyoza and veg tempura are top class, as is the cucumber maki sushi.

Delicious Korean - Edit
Took a chance on this restaurant when it was the closest option to me and I didn’t feel like walking far. I’m very lucky I did. The vegan options are well marked, there are lots on the menu and I had 3 starters and a mains. They were all super tasty and washed down with Plum wine. It could be your best decision to try here....

Authentic Korean - Edit
Authentic Korean restaurant in Dublin, now with a dedicated vegan menu. Great food, can be very busy. Food also served in the bar the Hop House which can get very crowded. Great tasting food. Some food labelled veggie but not so double check.
