Worth the wait - Edit
We needed to wait for 40 minutes before we had a table ready. But the amazing food was worth the wait, the staff is friendly and will explain everything briefly to you. The restaurant is cute and cozy and just as you expect from a Japanese soba restaurant. Only 2 main vegan dishes and one side dish, I would really recommend the tempura, loved it!

Long wait but good soba - Edit
We arrived around 11:40 and finally got it around 12:30. The wait is quite long but there is some free cold tea outside.
Read moreOnce inside, we were surprised by the relaxed atmosphere despite the busyness of the place. The staff were nice enough to explain things to us and, as stated in the description, we could have a full vegan tenzaru soba (tempura with cold soba)
We got some free tea and noodles so at the end of the day, the 1980 yens are a good bang for the bucks.
Pros: Fully veganised dish (broth and tempura), Nice atmosphere, Awesome staff
Cons: Waiting time

Delicious - Edit
Google says this place is permanently closed but that is wrong. The soba was delicious and the staff was fully prepared for my vegan request. They really know what they are doing and the owner said the place has been in the family for almost a hundred years. Building is a little bit hidden so keep looking if you can’t find it right away. It’s well worth the search!

Beautiful building with vegetarian options - Edit
The broth can be made vegan if you ask - we just flashed a phrase on Google translate and they seemed to understand. This brought a few different menu options into play and it was nice to have some variety. The cold soba was nice to try, and the other dishes that people got looked good too, although the mushrooms in one of the hot soba dishes were a bit strange. It's a very traditional restaurant with beautiful old wooden tables and the staff were really friendly and attentive.

Pros: Lovely staff, Beautiful building, A couple of different options
Cons: The mushrooms were a bit strange on one dish

Delicious vegan soba - Edit
English menu and english speaking staff. If you tell them you're vegan they change the broth to a vegan one. You can order anything on the menu and the make a vegan version for you. Except the tempura, I'm not sure if the dough is vegan.

Great lunch - Edit
Had a special spring mountain vegetable tempura and the aubergine and mushroom udon with vegan stock. The udon were delicious. Best I’ve had in a month in Japan. The stock was so tasty and mushroomy, and the mushroom and aubergine were also delicious. Lots of free tea and friendly staff. It’s to the left of the temple as you’re looking at it.

Yummy tempura and soba - Edit
Soba and tempura were very delicious. I ordered eggplant and mushroom soba, and kids ordered plain hot one. Tempura was crispy and came with variety of vegetables. I highly recommend this place.

Good but expensive - Edit
We ordered the Yasai and Inaka. We had to request the vegan broth which they were happy to provide. Tempura veggies were excellent and large. The Inaka broth and noodles were delicious. The mushroom and eggplant in the broth didn't add much to the dish.

Generation portions with a few vegan options - Edit
I had this after an onsen. It was chilly outside so the warm soba dish was just what I needed! I had the aubergine and mushroom. The portion was huge! You also get a pot of soba- cha to wash it down with and I also got some sachets to take home.

Daishi - Edit
We went in the restaurant, but we were informed that all their broth contained daishi, so not vegetarian. We cannot judge their food, but not an option for veg/vegan

Authentic Japanese - Edit
Traditional restaurant specialising in soba noodles. One member of the team speaks English well and is eager to help adapt dishes so they are veg (though no veg broth it seems). Tasty, authentic dishes, including whole wasabi you grate yourself. Pleasant decor with lots of raw & polished wood. A great option!
