Food was fine, service was not - Edit
The chimney cake was nice enough, but the woman serving us was incredibly rude. I almost expected her to throw the chimney cake at us

So bland - Edit
The vegan option is just a chimney cake with no ice cream or any other filling, rolled in sugar/nuts/sprinkles. I got a chocolate one and didn’t expect it to be just a normal chimney cake rolled in chocolate sprinkles. It tasted extremely bland and dry - essentially cheap bread - and I ended up throwing it away.

it's good~ 👍 - Edit
solid chimney cake chain, the chimney cake is good, there are various options such as cinnamon, chocolate, coconut, and walnut. it's nothing too special for me but I'm happy there's a chain that offers a vegan version to try the regional treat! #Veganuary

Tasty and traditional! - Edit
More expensive compared to a non-chain chimney cake but they're soft, warm and clearly labelled vegan so we were very happy - tried coconut, walnut and almond, all of which were very nice.

So delicious!! - Edit
So happy to find a traditional pastry in vegan version! Definitely recommend the cinnamon one but it offers other flavors such as vanilla.

We got a cinnamon chimney and it was fresh off the oven. Sweet and light with a crispy outer coating.

Bad and expensive - Edit
Worst chimney cakes we've had in Budapest, too expensive, too small, bland and stale.

good but quite expensive - Edit
when we went there the first time, they were out of chimney cakes and told us there would be more half an hour later. so we came back later and i tried to order the coconut one. the vendor then told me he only had a cinammon one left. well. it was good though, but rather pricey, especially compared to the non-vegan cakes which other vendors offer

Vegan chimney - Edit
Good to have vegan chimney cake around but more clearly marked would have been better. I chose cinnamon to be safe. Price increased a lot last months

Chimney - Edit
I got the chinmey with cinnamon (not sure if the chocolate is vegan so I gave up). the price is 500f (€ 1.37) but if you pay in euros they magically become 2 euros! So, pay in the current currency

Terrible customer service - Edit
We visited at 17:40 on 28/02/2020. The man who was responsible for taking orders was honestly the rudest person I have ever met. He was confrontational from the moment we greeted him. We asked if there were any vegan options and he said only ice cream. We tried to clarify if the ice cream was vegan and he said no. So we seemed a little confused. He then started mocking us for not understanding. He was clearly not joking. He was making “dumb” sounds and impersonating us looking confused. He did this at every question we asked and any face we must’ve made (including a very puzzled face about what on earth his awful behaviour was). I honestly feel like if he hadn’t been at work we would’ve been in danger. I feel the need to explain that we were so polite and patient and eventually just left because we were getting nowhere. He made us feel uncomfortable and belittled. He is an embarrassment to this company and we could tell that the other man on shift wasn’t impressed with him either. Please don’t use this chimney cake stall because they do not deserve your custom.

they refused to sell me a simple chimney cake - Edit
We went there on peak hour, even waited around 15 minutes in line in order to have a vegan chimney cake. However, at the counter, they told us that they could only sell the cone options (the ones with the fillings) and not only the single chimneys (bread only). Good thing was that one of the cone options was the cinnamon cake with some Nutella, so I asked them to sell me that cone but please without Nutella and they refused to sell it to me without Nutella! Completely refused! I explained that I was, of course, going to pay the full price, but they simply did not want to sell me only the cake. Made no sense at all. They also did not give me an explanation. I left the place very disappointed as my boyfriend and I explicitly went there because it is one of the very few stands that sell vegan options.

Fantastic Vegan Chimney Cakes - Edit
This place makes the chimney cakes that are so popular here out of "vegetable butter." The lady who worked there, probably the owner, explained that due to dairy allergy (not sure whose) all the cakes themselves do not contain any dairy. Some of the toppings do, such as ice cream, but even most of the toppings do not.
Read moreThe chimney cakes are fantastic. I didn't try any chimney cakes from the other venders in Budapest containing butter so not sure if these taste any different.
Pros: Delicious, Friendly Staff, Great Location
