Only One Breakfast Item

While the food was tasty, the coffee was not pleasant, the service was rather slow, there was no butter or sauce served with the breakfast and there was only the one option for brunch. I didn't see the dinner or lunch menus so I can't comment on those but I was a bit disappointed with the options

Pros: Tasty brunch/vegan breakfast

Cons: Slow service, Limited options

Best place for a cuppa and a bite to eat in the city centre

I love a nice cuppa and Leaf has it completely cracked - visited several times and am still working my way through the tea choices. As there are quite a few, it'll give me an excuse to keep going back! There's plenty of choice for coffee drinkers too. There's a range of cakes to accompany tea and coffee and they always have at least one vegan option on - the pistachio cake was lovely. There is a choice of vegan hot options as well. My favourite is the vegan kebab - seitan in spicy mayonnaise, wrapped in a flatbread, served with salad and fruity pilaff. It turned out to be the perfect post marathon meal too! Service is fast and staff are friendly but not intrusive. Love an independent venue - and I'd give it 5 stars if I could.

Pros: Good range of vegan food, Great choice of tea , Lovely venue

Nice food, not many options

Probably wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t eat out to help out, as it’s a little expensive there aren’t many options. Luckily I love kebabs and the one thing they did have appealed to me, but may not to everyone else!

Pros: Tasty, Good atmosphere, Pretty decor

Cons: Pricey for what you get, Not many options

More vegan options

We’ve had mixed experiences here, but it would be lovely to see more varied vegan choices on the menu. Cocktails are lush!

Meh for food, nice place for a drink

Agree with the reviews that say the vegan options are an afterthought. Given the great amount of vegan options in Liverpool I’ll likely not eat here again - limited options. But the place is great for a few drinks. Free unlimited help yourself mint water is a nice touch.

Love Leaf but.....

I love this place a LOT but in terms of vegan food there is not a great choice to be honest and what is there feels like an afterthought that could go wrong. It’s such a shame as it could be so much more.

Decent place, nice setting, boss cake

Vegan Breakky is good in here. Would recommend to a friend. Usually well busy. Coffee is delicious probs one of best on bold street. The vegan chocolate cake tho is the best. It's that good you want another slice so bad you get it... Oops

Pros: Chilled atmosphere , Beautiful coffee

Cons: A tad expensive

Nice breakfasts but lunchtime options are poor

Been here a few times for the vegan breakfast which is lovely, however maybe a little bit over priced. However came during the afternoon once, and there were very few vegan options. Therefore had the hummus sandwich which was pretty poor, basically hummus on bread with raw onions and a bland salad on the side. I see potential but they need to up their daytime vegan options

Pros: Nice breakfasts , Friendly staff

Cons: Overpriced, Limited and boring lunchtime options

very hip place

I had booked a table for 8 as I was going with colleagues. They did not have our booking however, even though I could show a print out of their confirmation by e-mail. Fortunately there was still a large table available.

The food was good, or at least the vegetarian options. A colleague who had ordered salmon first got it half raw, and after she complained and it was put on the grill again she got it back blackened. But there were no issues with the vegetarian dishes, and they were quite creative.

They have a wonderful tea selection.

It was a Wednesday night, which meant "spotify Wednesday", everyone could order two songs for the night's playlist. We really liked this idea. However, they never played our songs even though we were there a long time. We had the very strong impression that the staff was only playing their own favourite songs as they were dancing happily. This really disappointed us. If you promise an on demand playlist, an idea we really liked, you should also do it.

Pros: several creative vegetarian options, nice vibe

Cons: don't bother requesting your favourite songs

quite limited but nice!

they have some vegan options available, and they are quite nice. If you are looking for more variety this place won't do. Food is lovely though, real fresh vegetables!

Very limited vegan selection

I asked the staff about vegan options and the only possibilities were a soup and a curry (minus naan). I had the soup and it was really good, but still I was disappointed by the meagre offerings. The place itself is nice, always busy if quite cold during winter.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, What little food there is, is good

Cons: Limited vegan options, Cold

Nice for a drink

This has a nice atmosphere to go for a drink, but as the poster below says, it's not really the best choice for vegan food. As well as the limited choice I was also a bit sceptical that the staff really understood what vegans do and do not eat - to be on the safe side, I did not eat here.

Pros: atmosphere, location

Cons: limited vegan options

Leaf Cafe, Liverpool

I'm somewhat surprised somewhat that someone had decided to submit this place for happy cow. While they have some veg*n offerings, this is a sideline and eating meat is very much the main event. The Egg Cafe and mello mello are both all vego and 2 mins walk away.

Pros: Mainly for meat
