Cozy Spot on the Coast

The owner was very kind, answering all of our questions and making sure everything was vegan.

We got the House Breadsticks, The Spinach Pie and two bowls of Mac n’ Cheese.

The breadsticks were a pizza crust base with lots of spices and sesame seeds, a few tomatoes and peppers on top.

The spinach pie was drenched in olive oil, roasted spinach, olives and roasted pine nuts. It was a rainy day so munching on this hot from the oven was nice.

The mac and cheese bowls were big. The roasted broccoli we had added was really excellent. I would suggest spicier add ons, peppers or garlic would really go well in this dish.

All foods were served in to-go containers so you can eat as much as you like and easily take the rest. I would stop by again if I am in the area.

Pros: Casual, Customizable Dishes, Marked Vegan Items

Cons: none

Hearty, large bowl of cashew mac'n'cheese

Eating vegan in the Oregon Northern coast, first food stop.... Mac’d & more in Astoria, OR.

This was our first vegan meal of our Oregon Northern coast trip and whoa, was it ever a doozy!!! My wife read about Mac’d & more on HappyCow so we decided to give them a try. They only have one vegan option, a cashew based mac'n'cheese ... and this one item is soooo worth the trip! The dish was very hearty, will easily feed two, very creamy texture with a cheesy/nutty flavor. In addition to the great flavor already baked in (pun fully intended lol), they have many additional toppings you can add at $.75 per topping or $5 for unlimited toppings, such as broccoli, sun dried tomato, mushrooms and .. lots more to choose from.

Pros: portion size large enough to feed two, nutty/cheese flavor, great texture

Not bad

Went in hoping for the vegan sauce, and they did not have it. Can't be certain about if this is a normal occurrence or not, so call ahead if you want to be certain. Instead, I was offered the Totally Red sauce. Toppings are not marked vegan. I was accidentally given olives instead of spinach, so emphasize any allergies/veganism so that they are more careful. Wait was not bad, and the seating area is cozy.

Cons: Toppings not marked, Out of vegan sauce
