Tasty Food - Consistently Disappointing Service - Edit
The vegan options at Mai Kitchen are plentiful, as well as very tasty. I'd recommend the savoury pancake as a must-have, in fact, it's worth coming here for this alone. Best shared. From durian smoothies, to crispy skin vegan roast pork, you'll be perusing the menu for a good while before making your decision.
Read moreI've dined here several times and unfortunately there's always been something astray in the service. Examples include; not bringing glasses to the table for water, forgetting items ordered, profusely apologising with "sorry" (in fact one wait staff used this as his default sentence starter for everything he said!), and even once being forgotten, neglected, and waiting a very long time for food to arrive.
Atmosphere is nice but could do with some background music. Actually, the lack of cheesy music typically found at Asian restaurants makes for a nice change.
Despite flaws with the service, I'd go back. The food is worth it.
3.5 Stars
Pros: Great Food, Savoury Pancacke, Very Large Vegan Range
Cons: Below Average Service, Can be too salty/oily, A little on the more expensive side

fantastic vegan options - Edit
Clearly labelled separate vegan menu with informed staff means there’s no fear of an order mix up. Prompt service, meals come out quickly and the serves are huge and well priced. They’re happy to provide take out containers if you can’t finish it all too

Tasty reliable Cuisine - Edit
This is my local so have been here many times and have tried everything on the menu multiple times. Nothing is bad, all the dishes taste great, particularly the Banh Xeo/Pancake (Specialty Vietnamese Dish) and the satay skewers, as well as salt and pepper tofu and eggplant. Have recently introduced Gardein fish to the menu. Some of the food is a little oily but lasts very tasty.

Cons: A bit oily, Menu doesn't change much, specials would be go, Drinks take a while to come out

My Favourite Place! 10/5 - Edit
This is my absolute favourite restaurant of all time! It is delicious every single time we go and I don't think I've ever had a dish I didn't like!
Read moreThey have a whole vegan menu along side their normal menu with entrees, mains and desserts. My favourite is probably the salt and pepper eggplant and the beef and cashew! Five spice tofu is also great! The satay skewers are also baller! And for dessert the three colour bean is a must! Basically everything should be tried!
The portions are massive! My boyfriend and I tend to get an entree to share, one main to share and the three colour bean if we're feeling cheeky! We are always full afterwards!
The staff who work there are so friendly and helpful and genuinely want you to enjoy your experience! I will always come back!
Go! Go! Go!

Vegans rejoice! - Edit
Mai Kitchen is probably the most vegan friendly omnivore restaurant in Adelaide. Two pages of specific vegan options, plus deserts. Vegan wines are marked on the wine list. Staff are very attentive, and provide a level of service that you don't see much in Adelaide.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options including desserts and wine, Great customer service , Well priced
