When you walk into Maran Vegan you will start to feel this sense of belonging. One of the nicest atmospheres.
Read moreNot only is the entire supermarket vegan but you have a bistro part with fresh, seasonally changing salads & antipasti, deserts and a weekly menu of warm lunch options which are so yummy! The staff is very kind and helpful. As it is quite expensive it's only worth it to buy specific products at the supermarket.

Lovely bistro in front of the Maran Vegan Supermarket. They have so many great cakes, the variety is overwhelming. I recommend the Punschkrapfen, it is really good but also quite big and sweet, so you might share it with somebody.

All vegan supermarket and eatery, with baked goods and cakes. Daily lunch. We went almost every day, tried as much as possible during our last stay in Feb.. Bought sweets for my nieces and nephews, cakes for the family meet ups. We are looking forward to go there regularly as soon as we've moved :)

They offer a daily lunch set for a good price. The food is always freshly cooked and tastes amazing. They also have a always changing selection of cakes and different treats. I love to go there to do my shopping and enjoy a coffee and cake afterwards. Sometimes there are little snacks like "Wurstsemmeln" oder paninis.

Great little place to eat on the front of a vegan supermarket - Edit
I thought this place was a great little place! The supermarket is amazing and has many hard to find ingredients that vegans use (e.g. black salt for an egg flavour), so I did a bit of shopping. I grabbed breakfast at the little cafe, but sadly the nut swirl pastry I ordered was quite disappointing and lacking in flavour. The lunch selection, however, looked like it would be really tasty. My pastry and coffee came to 7 euro something which I found to be a little on the expensive side (and I'm used to Kitzbühel prices). The staff were okay, but not particularly friendly. If I were local I could seeyawlf coming here often for the supermarket, but I don't wouldn't go out of my way for the cafe, as Vienna has many other vegan eateries to choose from.

Had a plate and soup which were pretty good. They have various sauces and water to help yourself to. Had a croissant and a strudel for takeaway. I noticed the same croissant at Denn’s for the same price so bakery isn’t house-made, but they are good and not being marked up either.

The one place to go in Vienna - Edit
Word of advice , I'm not reviewing the Bistro, this place is much more important as a supermarket! As soon as I arrive to Vienna, I go to this place to get my essentials. That being different cheeses, meat substitutes, fake butter, you name it, they have it. The place is not super cheap (if you compare to the non-vegan products in a supermarket, but it will be of great help if you can cook your own food, you will save tons of money on buying food outside. Several salamis, chorizos, pastrami look alikes will be of great help for sandwiches for those days when you tour the entire day. I don't speak a word of German and still understand everything I need to shop here. Do not miss this one. It is very near the Westbanhof station.
