Yummy, fairly cheap food

When I tap on directions, it took me to another place. It called Mild Kitchen and located at 24 Sri Poom Rd Lane 1, Tambon Si Phum, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand. The food and tea were good! I got a Thai tea with soy milk and veggies, rice and lemon grass tofu. I tried the vegan cookies, but they were hard and not sweet at all. I wasn’t a fan of the cookies. The eating area is a beautiful garden with tons of plants. The ladies that work there are very sweet. They have tons of vegan options, soy yogurt, soy ice cream, non-dairy milks, smoothie bowls, rice, noodles, veggies, tofu etc.

Not veggie!

We ordered vegetable spring rolls but they had shrimp inside. Fried rice portions large but not very yummy and expensive. Think smoothies best option here.

Good curry

I’ve went there for lunch and had red curry with coconut meat, rice aside. It was really good, lots of veggies, good tofu, not greasy. I’ve had also one of the cookies which are at the entrance to the cafe but it was nothing special, quite dry in fact.

Good portion size!

Finally a restaurant where I don't order 2 dishes for being not hungry anymore. Delicious!

Pros: Good portion sizes

Great place

Went here for dinner, breakfast and got a delivery too. Service was very good and the staff spoke English. Lots of vegan options available. We had a curry, noodle dish, smoothie bowls and vegan cookies and brownie. Everything was great. The garden setting is cute and they have mosquito repellant available to use #Veganuary

The food is so cheap

The restaurant has lots of vegan options which are all so cheap. I ordered a rice noodle soup with tofu and vege and my friends curries. The red curry is too spicy for me but it was so tasty though. Everything was really filling and flavorful.

Cookie heaven

Over a dozen types of big, crunchy, vegan cookies - what's not to love?

Update: tried the pad see ew with chilli. Was full of vegetables, including pumpkin which I had never had before in pad see ew. Tasted good, big portion, cheap price.

never open😒

we walked passed this place everyday to get to our hotel and whilst they had very tasty cookies for sale outside for just 10 baht, the actual courtyard was always shut and gate closed so we never got to try this place which was disappointing as the menu seems like they have a lot of options.

Amazing fried rice.

Great mix of veg, tofu was delicious, and the brown rice was so well seasoned I could have ate it all plain. The staff are awesome and almost everything on the menu can be made vegan!

Hit or miss

On my first visit I had the Dahl with a tofu, veggie and rice dish. The Dahl was
really tasty and veggie dish was quite OK. There was a starter I had also.. Some
fried little veggie pockets with different sauces. Also very tasty. The price for everything was not too high and definitely worth it.

I went the next day because I really wanted to eat that Dahl again! I ordered a different veggie and rice dish, which a was also tasty. But the Dahl tasted like fermented dish
water! It was so bad and strange tasting, after a couple bites I didn't dare eat anymore.
As I ate my other dish and the Dahl was cooling, it started to bubble! Bad sign!!

I told the waiter the dahl was not good, totally different from yesterday and probably off!
I asked if it was the same Dahl as the day before.. He said he didn't know? I asked when that one was made and he also didn't know? I asked if the kitchen has recipes they all
follow and he laughed and said, no everyone just kinda makes it their own way.

I was hoping he was not going to charge me for the Dahl but he did anyway..
The food is good when it's not bubbling but I would not return.

Pros: Some good food. Many vegan options

Cons: Unorganised kitchen and staff crew. , Inconsistent dishes

Owner freaked out on us

I ordered a soup with tofu and noodles. It arrived and had no tofu inside. We advised the staff who sent the chef out to talk to us. It was made into a big deal and we felt embarrassed at how the owner handled it saying “only small amount tofu”. It’s a shame cause the food was good and the cost was inexpensive but the staff humiliated us and we will not be back.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Horrible staff

Good looking menu, meh food

Mild Cafe has a huge veggie menu, great prices, and tons of juice and smoothie options. They have a nice covered outdoor seating arrangement, and lots of vegan desserts packaged and ready to go. However, our curry was completelly water and basically without taste. The stir fried pumpkin and tofu was quite good.

Pros: Big menu, Good prices

Cons: Mediocre food

Pros: Many vegan options, big servings

Cons: confusing hours. closed early

Try the Pancake!

This place is under-rated. Shame they sell meat and dairy, otherwise it would get a higher rating. The vegan options that they do have are really good. They have lots of Thai and Western dishes and the pancake is delicious! Try the chocolate and raisin! They also have a load of baked goods with one whole cupboard dedicated to only vegan items, including cakes, cookies and brownies. Also has soy yoghurt and ice-cream.
I haven't tried the Thai food yet, I'll go back and try it.

Pros: Huge menu, Lots of vegan choices, Delicious baked goods

Cons: Sells meat, dairy and eggs

Big smiles and big portions

This lovely, family run place serves meat but also cater for a lot of vegan options. The portions are generous (especially the fruit salad) and they also have a wide selection of homemade cakes.

What I love most about this place is the familiar feel; you feel that you sitting in the garden of a family home (which indeed you are!) with graduation and wedding photos adorning the walls. The best is how you are always greeted with a big smile!

so yummy!

Really loved it here, just make sure you don’t have yellow noodles but get white or glass noodles instead. Everything was so delicious. We were tempted to order our meals again! Lots of vegan cookies and cakes too.

Cheap & delicious!

Local food at its best! The Thai red curry soup is amazing. Also a wee shop where you can buy fruit, honey & vegan cookies etc. Lovely, smiley family with excellent English. We rushed to get there by 1900 but when we went back at 2100 they were still open.id give it 5 stars if I could.

Pros: Cheap, Delicious!, Huge vegan selection

Lovely People, cute garden setting

Love this pretty little courtyard restaurant in the morning. Good breakfasts. Delicious papaya salad. Very reasonable prices and excellent service from the sweet owner. Organic and fabulous juices and smoothies. Excellent selection of herbal teas.

Not my favourite place for curries though, as i like mine a little more creamy.

Absolutely delicious!

Highly recommend this place! Delicious food, cute atmosphere, lovely staff and owners. Massive menu with lots of choice, and breakfasts also look delicious for all! Obviously be sure to check and request vegan food because it does offer all vegetarian, vegan and meat, and for some reason in Asia they don’t seem to always realise Vegan means no Egg.

Pros: Friendly staff, Flavoursome food, Good value

Cons: No specific vegan menu
