Few vegan options - Edit
My partner and I each tried a vegan ramen, there’s also some vegan small plates to choose from. The ramen was ok, the broth was slightly too thick for our liking and the sesame was overpowering. Decent option if you’re in the area though.

Fantastic Vegan Ramen - Edit
We had tried many different Raman places within our first week stay in Kyoto, then I came across Moon and Back Ramen. It was a fantastic vegan ramen, and was great because my husband was also able to get a great non vegan ramen too! We felt this was one of the best ones we had tried so far!

Spicy vegan ramen was amazing. Looks like it is a chain, I noticed this restaurant in Osaka as well but couldn’t go there. Will definitely go back again during my stay in Kyoto.

Leckeres Essen, allerdings nur zwei vegane Ramen, von der eine sehr scharf ist. Fragen nach Allergien etc. verkaufen aber auch Fleischgerichte, tlw. mit “Flammbieren” am Tisch. Viele sehr gute Beilagen und Desserts. Mit Karte zahlen kosten 3% vom Essen.

Amazing meal - Nishiki Market Alley by Moon and Back - Edit
Moon and Back was full, so we went to their new location 5 minutes away at the end of Nishiki Market. It was the best meal we’ve had in Japan, and up there with the best meal we’ve had EVER! Amazing vegetarian and vegan options, with plenty for our meat eating companions too. Thanks for a truly excellent meal - great amount of seating, impeccable vibes and fabulous staff! Don’t skip dessert, it was the perfect finish.

The ramen was good but only served with one piece of tofu, would appreciate to have some more vegetables in the dish. It was tastey but perhaps a little expensive for what you get.

dragged my roommates here and we all loved it!! i was able to get vegan ramen and they were able to get wagyu ramen cooked in front of them with a blow torch! everyone was happy!! SOOO GOOD!! they had free stickers available too!!
