Cool experience - Edit
It was a great atmosphere and clearly a popular place, had to line up outside a little at dinner time! I was sat at the bench watching them cook all the pancakes on the massive hot plate which was cool, mine was kept away from all the egg meat and cheese which was nice! I was given a vegetable sauce to eat with too. The pancake was a bit bland though and was nice with the sauce but not too much. It was ok, was good for the experience but wasn’t as tasty as I had anticipated. 9 options on the menu for vegetarian and 3 for vegan :)

Vegan/vegetarian okonomiyaki - Edit
Great place to try okonomiyski, which usually contains pork and chicken. They cater well to vegetarians, offering several variations: no meat, no meat broth, no egg, and vegan which looks like plain noodles. If you can eat eggs, it’s worth the wait. They’ll even give you a special bottle of vegetarian brown sauce to put on top.

Cons: Long line, so be prepared to wait.

Essentially one vegan option - Edit
Not the greatest for vegans...only one option which was quite dry. We had to drown ours in the sauces on the table to make it good. But the atmosphere is fun and lively.

Popular and pretty tasty - Edit
The queue was quite long during dinner time, but I managed to get in before the huge throngs of tourists appeared. There is decent variety of Okonomiyaki available and they have a good selection of vegetarian options! The Hiroshima style okonomiyaki consists is made up of soba and cabbage, which is quite different from the Osaka style ones. While it was tasty, I felt it was a quite expensive for the vegan option. For some reason, the meat and seafood variations are cheaper even though the ingredients are almost the same with the exception of meat. It was tasty, but I personally feel it was not very worth the price tag. However I also understand that making it vegan means omitting many of the ingredients which makes the dish 'special'. Anyway it's worth a try if you're in Hiroshima!

Friendly - Edit
They alternate between utensils so you don’t have meat and vegan options touching the same utensils. There was a long wait, but worth every second.

Finaly a local speciality for vegan! :) - Edit
You have to be patient to get a seat because this place is really popular but it's worth the wait. When you're vegan it's always nice that you can finaly try some local specialties in Japan. :)

Interesting local specialty - Edit
We had to wait a while to be seated here for lunch. Despite the line, the place is very well organized and gives you the menu to look at and takes your order in advance of your seating. Vegan options clearly marked on the menu. You can sit either at a table with an individual hot grill or at the bar where all the food is prepared on a giant hot grill. All food is cooked on the same grill, but staff carefully cleans the grill between each item (request a table if you don't want to watch meat preparation in front of you). I'm glad I had the opportunity to try a local specialty food item, since so much of Japan's specialty foods are off-limits to a vegan! It was very filling and tasty but nothing super remarkable that I'd go out of my way to get again.

Nice to try Okonomiyaki - Edit
Very nice to be able to try the okonomiyaki while in Japan, and this place luckily offers it! The food is vary tasty, and well worth a try! We sat at the counter, which was both good and bad: good to see how they make the food in the traditional way, but not so good looking at them fry bacon, shrimps and eggs. If this is a problem for you, chose to sit at a table.

Yay Okonomiyaki! - Edit
It was really nice to be able to partake of this traditional food while traveling. They prepared it right in front of me, after thoroughly cleaning the grill. Okonomiyaki is hard to describe. It's a bunch of veggies, batter, and noodles cooked into a pancake-shaped thing. It was really good!

What an experience! - Edit
This place hands down was an awesome experience. Being vegan means we miss out on a lot of street food and Japanese experiences but coming here you're able to at least experience one of them. Hiroshima is known for their okonomiyaki where they cook in front of you (if you sit at the counter) and serve you their speciality cabbage/soba/rice pancake. Not only do you get the experience but the pancake was absolute devine. They have 3 vegan options and heaps of vegetarian options. The vegan options are plain soba (do not recommend), cabbage/soba and mix veggie with soba. The latter two were great. We liked them both and came back for 2nds the next day and ordered 3 to share between the 2 of us since it would've been the last time to eat this. One pancake is actually quite a big serving for one person. Expect to wait in line at least half an hour because it's a popular place.

Hands down, best meal in japan - Edit
My brother and i just visited here and we loved it! As a vegetarian I had so many options to choose from, they even go as far as to offer veggie broth- which is fantastic because that’s usually why I can’t eat certain foods. Hands down the best vegetarian meal I had in Japan, and I stayed in a Buddhist Temple! Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. The only downside was the limited seating and it can be a wait, we got there at just the right time but I saw some people waiting for a bit. But, worth the wait!

Nice filling lunch!! - Edit
Vege option very clear on the menu. Beautiful okonomiyaki without egg for once! Only one I’ve seen without egg during my weeks here in japan. Slightly bland but you can add sauces and definitely does the job after a day of visiting the sights of Hiroshima.

Delicious Okonomiyaki - Edit
Fantastic service, and delicious food! The menu was easy to interpret with the vegetarian section clearly marked. All the staff speak English well and were happy to make changes as requested. After ordering vegetarian (for my husband) and vegan for myself, the waitress brought over the vegetable sauce and took away the other sauce to avoid confusion.

Vegan Okonomiyaki! - Edit
This was a really great brunch! We got there before it opened after reading about the wait times and sure enough, the place filled up in the blink of an eye after we sat down. The portions were very big, with plenty of toppings. They even have a vegan sauce for the okonomiyaki! An edamame appetizer is a cheap and delicious addition to the meal.

Clearly-labelled, tasty food (after a wait) - Edit
It was great to try a traditional Japanese dish prepared with veggie people in mind. While still in the queue we were given a menu in English with separate sections for different ingredients so it was easy to choose what we could eat. Once inside, the waitress said one of the sauces on our table wasn’t veggie and replaced it with a veggie alternative. The food was great - but we were there at lunchtime and it took exactly one hour from when we joined the queue to getting the food so come prepared for the wait (or get a pre-meal snack from the 7-eleven across the street).

Delicious okonomiyaki with lots of options, the staff speak good English and they're well organised. If there's a queue they will take your order whilst you're waiting. We were sat at the bar and it was fun to watch the okonomiyaki being made on the hot plate. We loved it so much we're going again before we leave Hiroshima!

The place is very nice. We went there on our trip in Hiroshima and were not disappointed. Vegan Okonomiyaki is delicious. They even provide with special vegan-version of the okonomiyaki sauce.

Huge meal of deliciousness - Edit
Has an easy to understand English menu and multiple vegetarian and vegan options. They also swap your sauce for the vegetarian alternative. The food came out quickly and was a huge serving. Both the okonomiyaki and the plum wine were utterly delicious. There was no line when we went around 3pm. Would definitely return again!

They take your order when you walk in and they have options for all, vegan, veg, it is just a noodle shop so don't expect variety. But the veggie sauce is suuuuper good. Well worth it. Also have great big beers.
